Convenient to the town, parking available. Staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was very tired and the net curtains dirty. Cracked sink, hole in the bathroom floor, tap dripping. Cigarette ends outside the entrance of the hotel. Reception carpet dirty. Generally not welcoming. More like a truck stop. Though facilities in the room good in terms of tea & coffee facilities, plates and fridge. TV worked. Also close by to a shop which is well stocked and open 24 hrs… so very convenient. It urgently requires a refurb! Their photos don’t accurately reflect the condition of the rooms.

Budget accom for a reason. Room was fair enough for the price and beds not too bad. Lot of noise outside in the car park with two car loads of youths shouting till after midnight. Surprised to find a microwave and a fridge in the room. Decent enough for a 1 night lay over

We had an early morning (5am ish) arrival time and the staff that checked us in was was great. Only issue is I would've preferred more warmth in my room as my radiator didn't heat it up enough. My colleagues on the other hand were delighted with their room temperatures so perhaps I was just to tired to figure it out. The location is nice and quiet, no major traffic making noise in the early mornings or throughout the night and if any, the windows adequately blocked it. Petrol station next door so sustenance and refueling available 24hrs. Parking is nice and easy, maybe 20 seconds and you're inside and out of the cold. Nice vistas not too far away although my window had a nice balance. Checking out was again met with the individual quality seemingly lost or forgotten in many service establishments nowadays. Thank-you

This is a budget hotel and so the price reflects this. Positives first. Plenty of parking. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room was spacious with plenty of tea & coffee. Mini fridge and microwave. Good shower And now the negatives Hotel is very dated with carpet on communal steps hanging off. Overpowering smell when you entered the room. No bedside cabinet on one side, however the fixing holes in the wall were on show. Same with the TV which was on the table but would have at some point been on the wall, as again the old fixing points were visible. And on the point of the long laminate table. Goodness knows what the previous guests did but there were large gouges in the laminate. The whole room was desperately in need of decorating and a new carpet. Bathroom had been cleaned but there was still mildew on the sealant. Worst of all was the mattress. The sheets were clean but the mattress was totally worn out with no firmness whatsoever. If you sat on the end of the bed, the mattress came up on the other end. Totally uncomfortable. The whole place is in desperate need of renovation to bring it up to standard. It’s very tired and uninviting. That said I suppose the price reflected this but be beware when booking and don’t expect a lot.

Parking area awful. There was a very strong smell of a particular type of smoke. I had to leave and stay elsewhere.

The room was dirty, there were springs poking through the mattress, the shower was cold and dirty as well. Furniture was in a sorry state and the carpets were unclean as well.

It’s was very dirty. As soon as you enter the hotel, there is a horrible smell in the corridors. The rooms are no better. Our bed was terrible. If you sat on the end the entire bed would tip, mattress had zero support. Wouldn’t recommend and wouldn’t stay again.

I found a bag of chicken in the warsrobe which was at lwast 16 days old, bathroom was dirty and had a broken soap dish on wall with sharp edges

I dont know how this place is even open, room looks like its never had a cleaner in years, the chair was taped together, there was mould and cobwebs up the walls, the bed was full of stains. The bath was minging, booked here because it was cheap and convenient.. although it was cheap id expected it to be clean!

If that wasn’t nice enough, there’s then the wonderful peeling paint, filthy carpets, and staff that rarely string two words together. The room itself stank like an ashtray, needed a good clean, and was really run down. There was mould around the bath, black stains in the bath, mould around the windows, damage to the furniture, dodgy marks on the wall that I’d hate to see under a UV light, and when you lifted up the mattress the bed had some really dodgy looking brown stains. And the walls were paper thin. And the fire alarm went off at 0415AM because someone was probably smoking in there room. When the alarm went off no one asked if we were ok in the -5 temperatures in the car park. After 15 minutes the night porter came out and shouted in a think Yorkshire accent “There’s nor fire” and that was that. On a plus side I got out alive and was able to leave the next day.

The pics showing the rooms. Are very misleading when I went into my room I was disgusted the carpet had bits all over it. The decor was dirty and very dingy the skirting boards were dirty and covered in filth the walls are dirty and in dire need of a good paint job. The mirrors look like they haven’t been polished for a while the bathroom had a horrible dirty smell. Only good thing was the towels lovely and white bedding was clean but very grey

Filthy. Room clearly not cleaned in some time. Holes in walls. Broken furniture. Did not feel safe. Needs to be condemned. Left after 20mins. Had to book somewhere else to stay for the night. Which I have never done before. Not an option to give no stars. Doesn’t even deserve the one. Do not stay here.

We had rubbish under the bed that had clearly been there for a while. Wires were hanging out of light fittings. The humming from the washing machine in the facilities next to my room kept me awake most of the night. Terrible nights sleep. Terrible hotel. Will never stay in a Metro Inn again.

For £40 a night u certainly can not complain. Clean enough , booked 2 rooms catch broken on the window , could not shut out the road noise, the rooms showing signs of age, but as i said for 40 pound there clean and tidy , well worth tge price

Perfect for an overnight stay, had everything I needed. Comfy bed, shower, kettle, tea, coffee, fantastic WiFi l. It's quiet location meant I had a great night's sleep.

The property was well-placed and reasonably priced but somewhat run down. One of the celing lights did not work; one of the wall lights did not work; the fridge did not work; two of the four light switches did nothing - one perhaps because of the failed ceiling light but I have no idea what the other was supposed to do.

Reception and rooms were very tired and in need of a referb throughout, room was not clean. Hairs on pillow, sticky tables, mirrors were smeared, empty red bull can in the bin. Reception staff was excellent last night, but no engagement from the staff this morning. No view, apart from busy road, a fuel station and a bin store. Room was noisy, as no aircon, meant window had to be open... it was like police, camera action last night, big lorries driving past hitting a large pothole, felt they were going to crash. I didnt sleep.

Couldn’t get through as it says contact ahead of time. Not very friendly service on check in walls were dirty surfaces not maintained well enough. Shower was rubbish

Place is a bit tired. Great staff. Really helpfull & friendly.

Booked for bed n breakfast.. as working in the area. To be told on arrival no breakfasts... Also was not allowed to use facilities (toilet) till 2pm ( it was 1.38pm) Staff was rude and impolite cancelled visit did not stay... will not go again... I travel alot , but that was the worst ever booking.

I arrived late as I travel for my job. On arrival the gentleman who greeted me seemed friendly and gave me the keys for the room. When I got to my ground floor room (105) I was greeted with a strong smell of damp dirty carpets. The walls were chipped and stained, The bathroom door was half painted, the bed and chair were draped with white cloth as they were stained & ripped, My window was left wide open, the desk was all chipped and their attempts to cover it with a biscuit did not work. When I showered it was almost impossible to turn it off. After about 10 minutes of trying I succeeded. Finally when I went to bed the dust in the room flared up my MILD asthma. At 4 am there was a banging on my door, there were no security key fobs to get in off the streets so I was scared as to who it was. When I finally got back to sleep I woke up to start another days work of travel. After getting ready I packed up my bags and finished my breakfast. At 9:55, 5 minutes before check out a very rude member of staff (a lady with mousey brown hair) banged on my door. When I answered she told me it was 10:00 and I had to get out. At this point I was loading myself up with bags ready to leave anyway but she was so very rude and unwelcoming. There is no need to speak to your paying guests in that manner. I had an awful stay at the Metro Inns. Smelly, rude staff, dirty and just in general grubby and tired.

The properties rooms were large and the bed and bathroom were clean. But paint damaged on the walls the bathroom floor was spongy. But the bath was secure and the water was nice and hot. As a Contractor it was very cheap accommodation and great value for money but i wouldnt have took anyone there as a nice place to stay. In need of a revamp and then it would be a nice place to stay. No food on site but two nice pubs within 15 min walk.

Bed was comfy, towels fluffy, felt safe. decor needs to be refreshed. Starbucks next door, SPAR shop for anything you may need. 20 minute walk into Mirfield along a busy road, buses available.

Bit isolated but high quality steak restaurant over the road plus a well stocked spar and Starbucks Fire alarm went off and took awhile to get turned off

Very quite area and next to a petrol pump. Coming from Dewsbury there should have proper signs to guide customers. Going out towards Leeds Road, no sign for Bus Lane, when I turn left I end up on Bus Lane. The Camera on the bus lane flashed and I will receive Penalty Notice for this which is only due to poor signs and marking for Bus Lane.

Location behind a petrol station doesn't help, but neither did the full bins and dirty laundry by the front door with flies humming round it doesn't help.

I must admit placement of hotel was out of the way and the hallway and stairs to my room were not very clean. However i found the room to be of a high standard in size, cleanliness and amenities with a kettle and microwave. The bathroom was well done with both and shower. No food available as advised but a very good mini mart next door. Would i stay for a week - no. The road noise is high but not a major issue. But for an over night on a journey it is excellent. I have stayed in places at 2-3 times the price that were far worse. If you want really good value then it is worth all of that
