This hotel has a very 'old world' style which is lovely. Unfortunately, this extends to the WiFi which was very slow (1.5Mbps). The hot spring bath is lovely though I wasn't too happy about having a female attendant who entered the male change room several times. Getting to the hotel from the train is best done by taxi. When I arrived in the evening there were no dining options because apparently the hotel restaurant was full, and all the local restaurants were either closed or full. Ended up having a konbini dinner. The hotel is handy for the castle and gardens.

Amazing location. Not modern but incredibly good. Comfortable beds, great onsen, tiny details like a fridge full of Yakults, included minibar beverages, a piano bar, and an unbeatable location make this one of the best value hotels I’ve ever stayed in.

We loved our stay here. It was walkable to the Chayo districts, Kanazawa Castle, and great shopping. The staff were incredibly polite and helpful, it was always a pleasure to see and interact with them. The mineral hot spring and sauna were great features too, we used them every night of our stay.

駅から少し距離があるため、歩けない。バスかタクシー移動なので移動のための料金は掛かる(想定内)。ホテルからの送迎バスもあったが、時間が合わず、一度だけ利用できた。男性用の大浴場が広さがないので混み合ったらゆっくりできない。ホテルスタッフさん達はとても感じが良くてとても良かった！！

Hotel is clean and very conveniently located next to the Kanazawa Castle. From the outside you see that the hotel is a little bit outdated. Inside the furniture is a bit old style as shown on the pictures, but everything is in very good condition. Enjoyed my stay and used the Onsen (japenese bath) every day. Can recommend staying in the hotel.

The hotel is close to the Kenroukuen Garden. It takes 15 min to walk there from the hotel. The hotel has a nice lobby and friendly staff who speak adequate English. They even have live piano performance for 30 min in evenings, although yo be seated you have to pay $5 cover charge. The hotel has a small but genuine hot spring pool, guests can use it without additional charge. My room was clean and quiet, and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was fine for me. The words of caution for some people are (1) the carpet in the room seems worn and the corridor seem dim; (2) I could not get a seat in 3 restaurants within walking distance of the hotel because they have all been fully booked on a Sunday night.

The outlook of the building might look rather old and shabby, but the inside is surprisingly appealing. The reception lobby is stylish retro-taste, and the staffs are fluent in English. The room is also nice and tidy, and sweet little ducklings may welcome you. The amenities are of high quality. Highly recommended. Note: there is another Sanraku hotel called "The Hotel Sanraku Kanazawa" nearby. This may be equally good, but this review is for Kanazawa Hakuchoro Hotel Sanraku.

The staff are great but management needs to get new mattresses and pillows. These are in very rough shape and need to be replaced. A secondary for improvement is the quality of the breakfast. For over ¥3000, the quality could be much improved. it is a lower standard than other hotels charging the same amount. The ambiance of the hotel itself is very nice but I suspect there are some management issues.

Excellent location and value! Right next to the castle and Kenroku-en, the hotel couldn't be better situated for seeing the sights of Kanazawa. Really unique style and rooms. We booked a junior suite, which due to the layout with the divider in the middle wasn't as spacious or practical as we were expecting, but for the value we got it for, no complaints at all (we're only two people, so in future would probably not have booked a junior suite again). For a one or two night stay to see the sights of Kanazawa, this hotel is perfect.

Great hotel. The location was perfect for our stay in Kanazawa. It was right next to the Kanazawa castle park and the main Kenrokuen gardens, both of which were must see places! It was also a short walk to the Omicho Fish market, which was probably the best market we visited in all of Japan, and one of our favorite places to eat. The room was comfortable and clean. Typical of what you’ll find there. The beds are a bit hard but that is consistent across all of Japan.

This hotel is really nice. The staff is super courteous and helpful. The property itself is very pretty. We stayed in a Japanese style room and it was perfect. If you get lucky enough to stay in a corner room you may even get your own little garden that your room opens up to. Beautiful. The downstairs baths are very nice too. Also it's centrally located so you can easily walk to Higashi Chaya District, Kanazawa Castle, and Nishi Chaya District. Would absolutely come back and recommend to others.

The Kanazawa Hakuchoro Hotel Sanraku is a beautifully kept historic hotel with elegant Taisho-era interior accents and style. １月１日に利用させていただいたのですが、丁度能登半島地震の日でした。部屋に着くなり、いきなり地震があり、ロビーに避難。全ての計画が白紙になる中、夕食の予定がキャンセルになった人向けにおせち料理のケータリングサービスなど、心温まるサービスをしていただきました。従業員さんも未知の災害で不安な中、宿泊客の安心の為に最大限の努力をしていただけたと感じています。外装は古いですが中はとてもゴージャスで、お風呂も気持ちよく、また泊りに行きたい宿です！

Very close to the palace grounds. Restaurants were lacking in the area and well as the hotels restaurant that was booked solid with no accomodations or exceptions for hotel guests. The hotel breakfast buffet however was excellent. Uber to nearby restaurants is your best option. Call ahead first though to reserve a table. Very picturesque area.

This hotel has an absolutely spectacular breakfast buffet with Japanese and western options, including great fish options. The hot spring is wonderful. Staff very helpful with restaurant reservations. My only complaint is that the grooms are kept at about 72 degrees. Too hot to sleep well

施設は写真で、イメージするほどの広さはない。まあ仕方ない。同接のレストランで食事をしたが、まあひどい。庭からとって来た様な飾り枝に結構大き目の虫が付いていた。店員を呼んで渡したが、謝罪もなければ、料理の交換も申し出ない。予約していたし、そんなに混んでいなかった様ですが、席が狭い。料理は上座から出してください。あと、料理を出す時に、人の前を通しすぎ。「前失礼します。」と言われても、全ての料理でこの有様ではとてもくつろげない。食事は外をお勧めします。

周辺の観光ポイントが全て徒歩圏にあり散策の拠点として最高の立地でした。ホテル内も綺麗で温泉も良く、お風呂ではアメニティやジュース、アイスクリームなどが豊富においてあり自由に頂ける感じでとても良かったです。朝食付きでしたが、のどぐろ炙り、金沢おでん、能登牛カレー、車麩など特産品勢ぞろいでとても美味しかったです。

From the description on Expedia, we were expecting a luxurious hotel with a quaint traditional style. Instead we got a hotel that was conceived in the 1980's, and never really progressed further. The dining was exorbitantly expensive for average food incorrectly called japanese nouvelle cuisine. The rooms were spanse but clean, and the spa basic and clean.
