The hotel is located at the end of the pier, so it's not the most convenient choice if you're hoping to walk around Atami and explore the town. The facilities were generally clean, but they felt somewhat dated, particularly the public bath. The complimentary shuttle was also extremely crowded around check-in time. It was difficult to board, and I found myself wondering why additional shuttle services weren't added during this peak period. One important note for international travelers with tattoos: I was informed that guests with tattoos are not permitted to use the public bath. Unlike some other hotels with similar policies, this property does not provide tattoo cover stickers or alternative accommodations. If you have tattoos and plan to use the onsen, it's worth confirming the policy before booking. I also found communication somewhat challenging, as the staff had limited English proficiency. I completely understand if the hotel primarily caters to domestic Japanese travelers. However, if that is the case, it would be helpful for this to be communicated more clearly on international booking platforms such as Hotels.com so that overseas guests can make a more informed decision before booking.

Language can be a bit of a problem but the hotel and spa are really great. The spa is clean, the sauna rooms in the spa area are great. The hotel has upper floors that include time in the private hot tub if you are not ready for the public hot tubs yet. Views of the harbor are really nice.
