OYO Sunrise Hotel, A46 N Leicester

Nice comfortable hotel with a kettle TV and shower gel mini toiletries. Bar and Indian restaurant next door. Reception closes at 2200hours.

The property was quite dated but it was functional, clean, reasonably priced and the staff friendly and helpful. I visited when the temperature was around freezing, and the heating was off in the room when I arrived. The small heater took a few hours to heat the room to an acceptable temperature. There is an Indian restaurant next door and EV chargers (2x250kw and 2x22kw).

Convenient place and their drink/snack machines a little over priced but overall for the price we paid it was good

Okay for stopover . This is an old travelodge which has been bought over . Needs some money spent on upgrading it . Bathrooms need upgraded . On a dual carriage way with an Indian restaurant next door . Get supply’s at the shops before you arrive . Free parking .

Basic overnight stay for Leicester - economic- simple straightforward check in - ample parking- cobwebs on ceilings- very soft mattress- definitely needs replacing- toilet not properly cleaned- otherwise ok - as I said basic

Clean and tidy, a bit dated. Staff were friendly and the restaurant next door is very handy. Stayed a Friday and Saturday night. Slept well both nights.

Pleasant no thrills accommodation easy check in. Handy location. Cheap and cheerful no complaints. Nice garden and restaurant to the side. Little dated only.

Clean bed, clean bathroom but so many cobwebs on the room's walls and ceilings that we thought the room was decorated for Halloween. Months (if not years) of grime on skirting boards.

Based on the price I assumed that this would be a basic hotel however the lack of cleanliness was very disappointed.

Excrement all over toilet seat. Hairs all over bathroom and bath (not mine as long hair and I have short hair). Room/hotel very tired and looks as though no money has been spent since purchased from travelodge

Bugs crawling in sink and bath every morning. The people that own it all stand outside late at night talking loudly.

Room wasn’t very clean. Skirting boards were filthy. No locks on doors stayed with my 5 year old daughter felt very unsafe. no one at reception after 10pm Noisy form the location nightmare to get to. But Friendly reception staff on arrival. Bed was reasonably comfortable.

Has to be one of the most truly horrific hotel stays I’ve ever experienced. Filthy rooms, lopsided broken bed, yellow liquid left on room side board, chewing gum covering the eye peep hole in the door, dirty toilet roll and dirty bath to name a few things. (Pics attached). How can this be listed as a 3 star hotel on Hotel.com it wasn’t even fit for a pet dog. I can’t strongly advise anyone enough looking to stay here to not to! I even put a chair against the door as the internal lock was broken and it felt so unsafe. I spend 1/3 of the year travelling and staying in hotels and I accept you occasionally find something wrong with a room. We had 2 rooms and both were disgusting. Hotels.com you should be ashamed of yourselves for listing this hotel. I should be offered a full refund but I doubt I will be but feel free to reach out and explain ! AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Honestly has to be the worst experience I've had travelling so far. For the price I wasnt expecting 5* treatment, but this was just awful, I've stayed in better for less. The bathroom was dirty, there was mould growing on the ceiling and round the bath and the whole bathroom stank of stagnant water, which got worse when the bathroom tap was turned on. The bed was broken and had a dip in the middle and was so uncomfortable, the pillows were old and flat and the sheets were so old they were rough. Unsurprisingly, the hotel was deserted I never saw a sole except to check in, despite reception claiming to be open 7am to 10pm, however I left at 7.30am every morning and reception was still locked up. I'm surprised by any positive reviews this hotel has, maybe I just had the worst room in the hotel but the state of the rest of it doesn't bode well honestly. Never staying here again avoid, avoid, avoid.

Family room was okay but sofa bed very uncomfortable and not suitable for adults. No remote in room so what’s the use of television in room

So noisy and swelteringly hot no air flow through the building even with windows open. No sleep at all. Room in need of a refresh whilst clean was very tired carpet and sofa bed had definitely seen better days

Was an ok hotel , somewhere to sleep . There was a couple of things that could improve the hotel . There was only 4 plugs in the room which happen to be the other side of room . So either need an extension lead or move the plugs closer to the bed , so tv was plugged in one , heater 2nd plug, kettle 3rd and last one we had to charge our phones, but taking turns. Also the tv , i know you may think moaning about the size. Yes was nice having large tv ,however it literally just about fitted on desk it blocked the mirror so if you wanted to sit at desk to dry your hair or do your make up you would either have to put tv on floor or use the bathrokm mirror and had to plug kettle in the only small space left which was behind the tv . Which was quite dangerous 1. The bath was either dirty or marked to the point my daughter wouldn't use it and waited till she got home to shower . And would benefit your guest to maybe have a little fridge in rooms especially if they are staying a couple of days in the hotter months ,to keep drinks cold. Like i said was an ok hotel for the price , if i had to mark it out of 10 , i would say hotel is a 7

The bed was amazing very comfortable very soft couldn’t ask for better however the is absolutely no signal data doesn’t work the free WiFi doesn’t work. There is no shops about there is only a tiny bar next door and surrounding you is camera fields

Front of the hotel is noisy from traffic on a46 back is noisy from birds chirping at 4am then after your stay you get bombarded with emails asking for a review. Well have this review

Room acceptable and not too noisy as it was on the side away from the dual carriageway. Bedding clean, as was bathroom, except on the back of the door. Single bed mattresses made me feel like I would slide off them onto the floor so put them onto the floor - still very uncomfortable, unfortunately. Still, reasonable value for the price.

Fireworks and partying until 2am on a Sunday night. Absolutely disgraceful, but only one contact number at reception worked. When I spoke to the person in charge they said they would speak with the restaurant but the noise, so people outside the hotel roaming about setting fireworks off continued until 2am.

I think this hotel has got a bad reputation from previous reviews but I think you have to contextualise the market that they target. Clearly it is a budget option and the standards obviously mirror this. Could it be better? Yes of course, but then it would be more expensive. I felt it was very convenient for staying the night after a festival I attended, it had everything and more than I needed e.g. clean sheets, warm heater, excellent fast WiFi, TV, clean bathroom/ toiletries, TV and coffee/tea facilities etc so what more do you need? It also had free and convenient parking. The only major downside was that they don't have anyone on the front desk after 10pm so you have to ring ahead and arrange for a pin number to open a key box. I was fortunate enough to be forward thinking on this so managed to avoid being locked out of my room. Also they wont give you a pin code until 8pm, which meant they had to text me the pin number prior to arriving which made me paranoid that they were going to forget as the system isn't automated and only becasue I'd rung up. My advice to the hotel would be have someone always on front desk so you can check in without worry of being locked out. Other than that is was very good and zi would return.

Rooms needed a revamp. Mattress felt like it past its time.. Not worth what we paid unfortunately

1. There was no one at the reception when we arrived. We had to wait and we kept ringing bell 2. Two adults were booked but only one towel was there in the room 3. Towels were stinking of some food. May be fish oil kind of smell 4. We paid for wifi but there was no internet. The connectivity was really bad. It spoiled out new years eve. I would expect some kind of consation. Thanks

Dear Hotels.com We arrived at the OYO Sunrise Hotel A46 N Leicester on Thursday afternoon, we was given the keys for room 25 as soon as we opened the door and went inside water started to drop onto our heads as water was running through the smoke alarm on the ceiling. We checked out the rest of the room and discovered brown marks on the pillows protectors and other brown marks on the mattress. How can you expect someone to stay in a room that is leaking water and the bedding has brown marks on them. We went down stairs to the reception and reported the problems, the receptionist did not offer us another room. The receptionist said that we would have to get in touch with Hotels.com to sort out any problems. I showed the receptionist the pictures of the Water leak and the Brown marks on the bedding.

Nice and comfortable stay. Simple, but just what we were after! Only problem was that the desk isn’t manned overnight, it was lucky that we rung ahead to say we would not be arriving until early hours otherwise we would not have got into our room. This should be something you look out for when booking and planning on arriving after 10pm.

Lovely staff, very kind, friendly and helpful. Nice bar and restaurant next door. Location good although just off a main road. Rooms are a little bit dated and could do with a little refurb but perfectly clean and comfortable. Would stay again.

I would not return here. Very untidy. Not sure sheets were changed. No one at the reception when I checked in but rang the telephone numbers that was provided but no one responded. Was standing there for ages. Very pathetic.

Extremely rude staff, banging on our door loudly and shouting five min before checkout. Room and bathroom absolutely stank because of drainage issue, hairs in bath and sink. Would not recommend.

This is an old Travelodge so the internal layout and style of the rooms is as expected. Location is good (for me) and if you are travelling North there is a cafe 1-1/2 mile up the A46.

The hotel is good value for money and is conveniently positioned. Ideal for short durations or as a stop for work.

Remote quiet location so less distraction from say town noise.

We stayed one night - does what is says and what you pay, room was clean and basic we had a family room with 3beds. If you want a place to sleep in a convienient location to Leicester/ Loughborough then it is fine, a little tired but if it was brand new the price would reflect that. Next door to a very popular Indian restaurant but we did not have time to try .

Overall, I had a good stay. Very comfortable clean room and bathroom The bed was 1st class but two big issues for me. There was no air-conditioning or even a fan . That made a difference because the weather was hot. Secondly no restaurant or bar, although thete is one next door but only Asian food so i had to drive about 15 minutes into town to buy food
