Super 8 by Wyndham Saskatoon Near Downtown

Cleaner rooms would be appreciated... the toilet seat had hairs from the previous guest .... some wall have stains ... under the microwave was disgusting. The fridge in 219 freezes everything. The a/c in 219 is extremely noisy when the compressor kicks in. The shower in 219 was VERY small ... a handheld shower head installed in there would improve the situation greatly. Having more varied sized towels would be appreciated. The first room I was given had a faulty card reader on the door, so I had to repack all my belongings and move to another room ... there was no apology and it felt like I was treated like more of pain in butt.

The door cards needed to be reloaded every day. Was an inconvenience.

Floor Mat in the elevator was old and dirty, turned up edges Dangerous as someone can easy trip on it. Facility needs a dusting service

Key card never worked

Elevator floors are incorrectly labeled, room key didn’t work, bathroom was dirty, table was broken off the legs, had to move rooms so I could do my work, curtains didn’t close fully so I had the bright street lights shining in the room all night, wifi was so slow it was effectively useless. The only upside is that the bed was reasonably comfortable. I usually opt for super 8 for a cheap and reliably comfortable stay when I’m away for work, this location was undoubtably the worst I’ve stayed at.

Upon arrival, I checked in and headed to my room to find out that my key didn’t work. I went back to the front desk to get another and that key didn’t work either. They ended up having to get the master key to let me in the room and let me know they would send someone to fix the issue so I could receive a key. I did not end up receiving a key at all. While I was waiting in the room for the key I looked around and noticed it was absolutely filthy. The bed appeared unlaundered as the pillow was in the middle of the bed, linens wrinkled and untucked. The floor and the window curtains had many disgusting looking stains. Upon looking in the bathroom, there were no towels except hand towels that were unfolded and a face cloth left in a mess on the counter. The shampoo was on its side and the toilet paper roll was nearly empty and unrolled. The room didn’t appear to be cleaned at all. As if it wasn’t bad enough that I couldn’t leave the room without being able to get back in since I didn’t have a working key, now I was stuck in a room that had clearly not been properly cleaned between guests.

Cleaning staff did good job on the room for that part the people doing that did work hard to make it nice, although they did not come in on the second day at all reused my towels. Clearly the owners of the property run it on a shoe string. Most of the things inside and outside the room are missing , broken, damaged or not working , such as; No cups in room Table in my room is so broken drinks slide off of it Ice machine not working All vending machines not working Lighting not working Breakfast room abandoned Door latches and opening mechanisms broken Area outside the hotel , well they advertise it as near downtown but that’s not the case this hotel is located near Avenue P and 22 street west, going outside at night could be dangerous the neighborhood is crawling with thugs, drunks, hookers and lots of scary individuals! I was glad to make it into my room without a steak knife sticking out of my shoulder! 😵‍💫 Front desk workers are struggling to be friendly with anybody. Avoid this hotel and this area of town. I had to stay because I couldn’t find anything else with the big car show weekend and folk festival going on but man o man.

There was blood on wall, the bed had dents, towels were dirty, the door lock was broken, the people fighting in the hallway, dirty hallway and so on. It looks like a homeless shelter, insult to Saskatchewan or may be not sure been there only one night.

This was the worst hotel I stayed or rather refused to stay . The first room the heater was ready to fall apart . Room was dirty , sheets appeared to be moldy or just not washed properly, empty toilet paper roll still on the hanger , bathroom not properly cleaned , shower curtain moldy , items just laying on the wall not hanging , mirror , picture, dresser drawer partial open , went to ask for a different room . Went to second room and this room was worse if you could believe it . Holes in the wall something sprayed on the wall below the tv , looked like a possible home invasion had happened .zero care and attention . If the first room had mold this one had the ground zero of mold . I have stayed many times in super 8 hotels and the pictures should have said this is what the hotel looks like 40 years ago . STAY OUT OF THIS HOTEL UNLESS A SERIOUS RENOVATION. The only part that I could say was good was the desk attendant that called a taxi for me .

This was the filthiest hotel I have EVER been in WORLD WIDE! The front desk never has anyone attending it. List of things that didn’t work in the room: microwave door falling off, fridge didn’t work and had brown sticky liquid in the bottom, towels thrown into bathroom, not even folded nicely. Bugs crawling on the front desk during check in. Ants in the room. Coffee pot and cups covered in mystery crystallized liquid. Never. Again.

Hotel located in sketchy area…not well marked where to get in. Night clerk did not explain why he came up to our rooms with us, it was very awkward. We saw a made bed and the room size and said it was okay. Had we known to look more closely at the filth of the place we would never had agreed to those rooms. TV power outlet hanging off the wall. TV did not work…dust and garbage on furniture you could write your name in. Mirror was smeared with handprints and who knows what else. Long hairs on bathroom floor and yellow pea drops on toilet seat. That was room 207 which my daughter refused to sleep in and stayed with me and her sister in room 201. Room 201 also had a smeared up mirror…towels were all stained as well as face cloth. I would swear that they do not have cleaners. There was no sign of them in the morning. Bed skirts were torn and falling off the bed. Yellow mattress. Disgusting! In the morning I requested a discounted rate and was told I should have made that request to the night desk clerk when he took us up to see our rooms. We will be very wary of Wyndham hotels in future We have photos if you need further proof

This hotel should be closed, room completely dirty. Bad odour, dirty sheets.

What was unique about this property were the fresh blood spatters on the wall, stained sheets and the slept in bed. There was a notice at the front desk that “unregistered overnight guests” (just say hookers) had to pay an additional $100 fee and the dude at the front desk had a baseball bat tucked in the corner…. Murder Hotel.

They have bed bugs

There were 5 cockroaches running up the wall, and two came out of the bathroom. The front desk fellow moved us to a second room on the second floor, but the carpets were filled with dirt, and there was popcorn under the beds. We didn't stay, and the front desk fellow said he cancelled our reservation for us. The room does not look like the picture shown here.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. Stay anywhere else you possibly can. Checked in to room and there was blood on the towel and dirty bed sheets. Got switched to a new room and towels and bed sheets were filthy once again. Checked out immediately and still waiting to see if I will get refunded. Will not be staying at any Super 8 hotel’s after experiencing this.

You should close this place. It was completely dirty with blood stains on sheets and very dirty bathroom. Close this dirty please. I will submit a formal complaint by email. It was completely unacceptable!!!

It was economy accommodations, not to be compared to or confused with 5 star facilities.It was quiet when it needed to be quiet. It could use an overall "refresh". Carpets have far too many "miles" on them. Walls had several dings in them. Mattress and box spring could use replacing. They were kind enough to accommodate my request for a late departure at no additional cost.

The mattress was terrible. Literally had springs and steel poking me. Room was supposed to be a queen standard. It was a closet. Bathroom walls are dirty and paint torn away from something being removed.

The hotel was well situated on 22 Ave near Downtown and had good access to other destinations during my stay. I was roomed on the 22 Ave side so the traffic noise was high including sirens at all hours of the night. The mattress had serious dips and valleys making it uncomfortable, there was a bag of something questionable in the fridge, and the linens were well worn. Given what I paid I guess I can't complain but I would look elsewhere on my next Saskatoon stay.

It was so hot the ac didn’t work well opened the window to help but noisy as was on a main road in the city. Stains on the sheets and the towels. Took the sheets off the bed to find stains on the mattress. Bed was not comfortable could feel the springs . tv didn’t work. The front desk guy didn’t say much and I asked a lot of questions and he jsut said ya. Area was bad didn’t realize it was on west side of Saskatoon. A lot of sketchy people lingering around. We ended up leaving after midnight and found somewhere else it was awful

Not impressed at all other than we did get a quiet room. Very small room hard to turn around. A few tripping hazards in the room and a broken curtain. Bed cover is cleaned but not clean I can wired stains there. Breakfast is free which is a muffin and a no name brand Apple juice box. Nothing else.

Price was good and bed comfortable. Not much else went well. No info given at check in incl. No room service over 3 days, even when promissed. Slaming stairway door by our room into early hours. One night a dog was loose in the hallway for a long time barking after midnight and scrathing doors. Staff did not mention wifi code or that a coffee room was in basement. Never saw a room service cart in hallway all three days. Staff were friendly but not forward with lack of cleaning staff.

It was unclear where we were supposed to park. The room was tidy, but oddly laid out. Not in a bad way, just unusual. The mattress I used had a strange dip at the top. The room numbers, and building floors don't make sense. There was an odd vibe in the building that I can't put my finger on, but it was a solid place to crash after a concert.

Noisy fan in bathroom falling out of ceiling. Filthy mattress cover, under the sheets. Stood at counter for 5 mins before we got checked in. No one to be found. Shower was very good though.

First assigned room smelled of smoke. Changed to 2nd room. This was clean and well appointed, except for noisy fan, no separate switches for bath fan and light, and and no TV reception. Bed was comfortable and clean. Price very reasonable. Thks. .

Staff is not accommodating. Asked for room maintenance and they said, every 3 days, that was after the 3rd day. So after 3 days we check out without any room maintenance. 1 person to do rooms. She’s also front desk person. On another day she does rooms by herself from 6:00am until 4:00pm and did not do our room. We left our refuse in the hall and they yelled at us. We explained that there has been no room maintenance. We also ran out of toilet tissue and informed them and they did not replenish. We bought our own and our own tissue as we used it for TP. Upon check out they would not release damage deposit as we left soiled towels in hall due to no room maintenance. I asked to go back up stairs with them and show me where there is damage, she says because there is garbage in room and the towels were left in the hall do they are not refunding my 200.00. This place is run by a skeleton crew and needs more staffing. It is not in the best area of town, but I had put up there while my renovations were being completed.

Refunded me immediately with no protest or hassle. 5 stars for that.

Front desk staffs are rude

I stayed 2 nights..after the first night I left the hotel to attend meetings. When I arrived back on the late afternoon my room was not made up orvtowels changed. I was informed by front desk they only change towels and make up rooms every second day and not every day. I’ve never heard of that before.

The check-in lady was not professional Upon check-in, she did not even look at me or said hi. The hotel is alright, the location is always bad and i had no choice but booked it at the very last minute. Overall, the staff was bad

Upon arrival i waited over 30 minutes to chrck in as nobody was at the front desk. I had to go up and down the floors to find someone and when i did i got attitude from thevstaff. When i arrived in my room which was no bigger than a walk in closet the bedsheets were stained and yellow. The fridge had moldy food in it, the microwave hadnt been cleaned. The curtains were fallen apart, there was no dresser to put my clothes, the wall had several holes in it, there were drugged out people passed out in the parking lot. I immediately left and demanded a full refund. This place needs a health inspection fast

Stay away. This place is a dump and the staff is not helpful at all. We arrived after midnight and Abdullah could care less if we stayed or had to sleep outside.

-Our rooms were not ready when we checked in, certain amenities like soap and toilet paper were missing even after we moved into the room. -The keycards kept failing and we were locked out of our room several times. -The milk in the breakfast area was expired by 5 months! -They refused to provide room service unless our stay was 3 days or longer. I dont recommend staying here at their price point, unless price was less than $80/night. It seemed to us that they are trying to milk the franchise for as much money as they can without providing quality service.

Everything about the room was clean but we didn’t like the look of the pillow cases. We simply asked for fresh ones and the front desk brought those up in less than 5 minutes. The room does need updating as it looks old and used (but clean). The location has very good restaurants within 5 minutes drive and parking at the hotel was great.

It is convenient to go my destination, shopping and dining near the hotel. The price is less expensive.

I didnt stay once I realized where the hotel was located. The hotel is located near a safe use center and a homeless shelter. Im not knocking the hotel or the people but the risk factor was just too high for me to stay at the hotel. I got the 2 Super 8 locations mixed up.

More people should stay here - Super8 on 22nd is walking distance from most places u wanna go

This hotel is located where drug users are and my family and I don’t feel comfortable staying there. Would not recommend this hotel ever.

Not walking distance to downtown but great bus connection.

The advance check in was great but when we got to the Saskatoon location it was not. Apon arriving in Saskatoon the was a young woman obliviously high on something freaking out and asking the front desk clerk to call 911. When she and her friend were high and not on weed either. My wife and I thought about and talked it over and we decided to just drive through and not spend the night at Super 8.

Probably won't be staying here again. Every area is in desperate need of repairs/touch ups. Smelled like cigarette smoke in the lobby. The staff were polite enough but definitely didn't go above and beyond. Felt unsafe coming in and out of the hotel. We slept well though and the rooms were clean enough, so I guess that's all we really needed from a cheaper hotel.

The area has a lot of homeless, also it is very busy street, is you room is facing the road it is noisy.

Price is good but don’t like the atmosphere

I only stayed there because of the price! The hotel isn't that old, but its run down and in a bad neighborhood.

The property needs extensive upgrading and a facelift. Not the expected breakfast....a small brown paper with a juice box ..a very good muffin and an apple. This establishment probably serves a certain cliental in this area but wasnt what was expected . Id say the advertising was misleading.

Breakfast is a bag with an apple and another bag inside the little bag with a "muffin". We couldn't get the TV to work properly even with the help of the person at the front desk. The room was very hot we had to have the air conditioner going all night long (it's winter now). It's not the hotel's fault but we woke up several times during the night because of sirens - area is not conducive to peace and quiet.

The room was not clean - food on fridge from last guests, red wine sprayed on the wall, the tv was not hooked up properly and had to have staff come mess around d with it for nearly an hour. The breakfast was a brown paper bag with an apple, muffin, and juice box.

Horrible!!! Never again!!! Advertising was two beds in a room ( payed online) got only one bed! Breakfast included haha only muffins and coffee in the entrance. Worst hotel ever!!!

This hotel had a great rate and decent location. However, the room was dirty and a bit gross to sleep in. The pillows had stains on the pillowcases. The door had splatters on it. The bathroom had hair in the toilet. The front desk staff were nice but a tad unorganized. Our keycard holder had 4 different room numbers scratched out on it. Finally, the “included breakfast” was a bit of a stretch. It was a bagged breakfast which was decent but a bit poorly advertised. I would choose to stay somewhere else.

The room was clean however, the bedside lamp didn't have any switches so only worked by plugging it in and out, the telephone didn't work at all so you couldn't even call the front desk, and there was no pot with the coffeemaker.. The add says it includes breakfast. When we inquired at check in the person didn't know where it took place but assured us there was indeed breakfast. In the morning when we went for breakfast we were told they were out of stock, so there was none,although there was no breakfast room. FALSE ADVERTISING!! Will never stay there again!

There was no continental breakfast. The room was dirty with someone elses medication in the room and blood on the wall and ceiling, as if someone was shot in the room and they never cleaned up the blood. I went to the hotel management and asked if they could clean the room or switch me to a different one and they said no and that I had to call expedia. I woke up on the morning of the 29th and the room next to mine had police banging at the door and there was pepper spray lingering in the hallway and when I got to the elevator to get to my vehicle to go to work.. the elevator was doused in pepper spray and I couldnt breathe. I have stage 3 emphysema amd COPD and I am still having issues catching my breath. Then to top it off I get back to the hotel room after a long days work and the hotel didnt even clean my room or make the bed. My business trip then ended earlier then planned and they said I had to switch my reservation with expedia and they couldnt do anything. So I contacted someone on the app that my itineray was on and they said they put in a tocket request to seek a refund as I did not stay the whole 4 days and that I would be credited back in 72 hours. I have still not seen the money reflect back onto my credit card. I would like this issue fixed immediately and I am not happy with the services from not only the hotel but also expedia or hotels.com this is unacceptable , do better.

It was a place to sleep, decently quiet. The toilet was dirty as well as the carpet in the room. We were told we could have adjoining rooms over the phone, but when we got there they said the doors between the rooms don’t work so our rooms were a few door away from each other. We needed toilet paper in one of the rooms and were told by the front desk to find the cleaning staff to get some. There was no breakfast as they are working on the building.
