Konansou was the highlight of our trip to Japan. After walking around hot, crowded, Tokyo all week, it was a breath of fresh air to receive impeccable and thoughtful service from their excellent staff. First of all, they offer a free shuttle to and from Kawaguchiko station which saved us a 10-15 minute trek through the city with our heavy bags. All you need to do is call the front desk when you arrive at the station. We arrived early to the hotel and couldn't check in right away, but that was no problem and our luggage was stored safely by the staff and later brought up to our rooms after check-in time. Secondly, if you have ever wanted to have the best meal of your life, I highly recommend the Kaiseki dinner option. While it is additional to the price of the room, I will be dreaming of this meal for the rest of my life. Lastly, the location is incredible. Right on the shores of Kawaguchi, the view of the lake is just as stunning, if not as revered as the view of Lake Fuji itself. The private onsen in our room was clean and revitalizing, and the room itself was as beautiful as it was traditional. I cannot recommend this location enough.

This hotel had a fabulous view of Mt. Fuji on the rooftop, which also has a great foot bath on top too. Room with Lake Kawaguchiko view and private onsen was very spacious and beautiful. The property is very clean and walkable to the station, but has a shuttle bus, which we used to go back to the train station, as there is a hill you would have to climb there. Staff was very respectful and always willing to assist you. I would definitely stay there again.

It has 1big pool, 1jacuzzi, and 4 individual pools. The outdoor onsen water is not hot enough though. It has nice resting area and 2 massage chairs in another room to relax. Offer free ice cream too! The bkf is buffet style with wide selection of food. Dinner is Keiseki with very well spread and high quality. This ryokan is also well located and close proximity to ropeway and many souvenir shops and eateries. Well recommended

Loved this property and our stay in a room with lake view and open air bath in room. We opted for the half board so we enjoyed their breakfast buffet and nightly Kaiseki dinner, which was delicious and beautifully presented. Our server, Nobuyuki, was so helpful and polite in carefully taking the time to explain each dish to us. The hotel staff were all helpful and professional, with english speaking staff available. Hotel is situated right in the lake and conveniently located to shops, restaurants, bus, within 10 mi walk to train station.They also have a shuttle to the train station. The roof top had a foot bath with a beautiful view of the lake and Fuji san. Hotel has all amenities such as spa, room service, daily housekeeping, etc. Free coffee and tea in the lounge area is also available. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would stay here again!

This half board stay was unbelievable. Started with being shown our rooms and offered tea while our host explained services. We booked time in the private onsen and had our dinner in our room. Onsen and rooftop footbaths were tranquil and calm. Perfect for an escape from a busy trip and time to relax. Service was spectacular from start to finish. They also can pick you up or drop you off at the train/bus depot (otherwise 10-15 minute walk if you luggage).

Konansou was nicely located, with a beautiful view of the lake from our room. We loved the complimentary shuttle service to Kawaguchiko station. It was very convenient. Just need to ask at the information center for pick up on initial arrival and they will call the hotel for you. The hotel itself is not the newest but it was very clean. The staff were all very respectful and eager to help. We had the traditional Japanese style room with private onsen and lake view. We enjoyed it but still booked a private onsen experience to get Mt Fuji views. That was a good decision. We also did the half board and stayed for 2 days. The kaiseki dinner was incredible and we are glad that they serve different meals for each day. The breakfast was mostly the same though, but they have a variety of food to choose from. Our attendant, Rai was very friendly and did his best to explain our dinner to us despite the language difference. Lastly, they have a foot bath on the top floor and you can have a full view of Mt. Fuji up there. Overall, we are very pleased with our ryokan experience and highly recommend it to everyone.

I rate this hotel top marks overall. I think for a ryokan and people wanting that type of hotel and experience this was excellent. With that said, it may not be my personal preference. * The in-room onsen was very small. Im not a big guy, but I struggled to relax in the tub and there certainly was no room for two people to relax together. * The traditional style room was lovely, but not my kind of comfort. Not having a bed in the room during the day is odd. How does one take a nap? And the floor seating/dining for a very stiff guy was a challenge. Our host and every staff member I interacted with was amazing. The supper provided was beautiful.

isappointing Room Service. The server was sneezing and had her mask hanging below her nose and constantly touched her mask while serving food. She did not once sanitize her hand after touching the mask. To avoid getting sick, we decided to open 2 doors to provide airflow. The server attempted to close one of the glass doors so I asked her not to close it. She explained that the flames of the hot pot will blow out. I insisted that the doors remain open. We were more concerned for our health than the flames blowing out. There were at least 3-4 dishes that required flames and none of them had blown out while in use. Regardless of the guest's suggestions to keep the doors open, she decides to ignore our suggestion and closed the 2nd door of the 2nd room. I would like the management to speak to their staff and remind them that they are not the ones staying in the room. The guest paid for the room and traveled really far to be there and staff should respect their space during their stay. Also, our room was right next to a pantry where the kitchen was loud and constantly clinging to glass etcetera. Staffs that are sick should stay home and not spread diseases in the hotel. Also the breakfast hall was a total nightmare 9 screaming and crying babies. It is simply not relaxing. Dining halls and foot spas should have different hours for children traveling with adults. There are adults and or couples traveling here. Waste of time and money.

More than we ever expected! Everything was thought out, ameneties are provided (toothbrush, toothpaste, hairbrush, q-tips, wipes, skin care, etc) Breakfast was safe as a person with peanut/nut allergies, every allergen is identified, made life easier. Staff is so kind and nice. They held out luggage after checking out. We took a free shuttle offered by the hotel to get to Kawaguchiko station. Very helpful,

The staff and level of hospitality was incredible. We have stayed in many hotels across the globe over the years and the hospitality of all the staff was one of the best experiences we have ever had. The staff were very attentive, friendly, warm and helpful. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. We were collected from the station within minutes of our arrival and the staff also helped us with finding suitable routes for our onward travel to get the Shinkansen. They also made our transition to our next hotel seamless, where we would have struggled otherwise. They were very responsive to our emails and also with our meal. They made our experience perfect on every level. We wish we had more days with Konansou. We hope to visit again soon! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

We loved our stay! the free shuttle picked us up from the bus station, all the staff were amazingly sweet and helpful, the in-room kaiseki meal was beautiful and delicious, the breakfast buffet was a great mix of both japanese and western options,and our in-room onsen with a view of lake Kawaguchiko was lovely. We haven't stayed at any of the other hotels/ryokans in the Kawaguchiko area but we would gladly go back to Konansou

out of our expectation, as i first wonder to book other resort which can facing Mt. Fuji but it was not easy to book so i finally booked here with Mt. Fuji view room, which was surprise as the room are modern clean , tidy and bright. our butler are super nice and try to communicate with us event she said not speak English. the public Bath are big and clean, tidy, but we got our own onsen in room, so we don't have time to experience it. my husband keep saying will come back and stay again. overall are nice just a bit deduce point was when we check out seem no concierge colleagues around to assist us for the luggage, we was checking out at 10 am which was the official hotel check out time.

Me and my partner had such a great stay at Konansou, the staff were fluent in English and so helpful and friendly. The halfboard and buffet breakfast were great, and the onsen bath was very relaxing for the body. There is free transport to and from Kawaguchiko station, you just have to ask the train station staff and they will call the hotel for you.

Our room was beautiful with an open air balcony overlooking the lake. I can’t say enough about the amenities from the roof top foot bath with views of Mt Fuji to the amazing breakfast. The staff were great and if you are hiking Mt Fuji the bus is within walking distance. I highly recommend this beautiful property.

The in-room Kaiseki dinner was excellent and above expectation. The buffet breakfast had some nice dishes but also some underwhelming/bad ones too. Love that Konansou is close enough to train/bus station (nice-ish walk in day time for first time visitors with Google Map help) and a Lawson steps away. Would totally stay here again!

Decent rooms. But the quality of service and food is not good. They refuse to serve vegetarian friendly dinner. Overall the property is run down and not worth the price paid.

Loved this property and our stay in a room with lake view and open air bath in room. We opted for the half board so we enjoyed their breakfast buffet and nightly Kaiseki dinner, which was delicious and beautifully presented. Our server, Nobuyuki, was so helpful and polite in carefully taking the time to explain each dish to us. The hotel staff were all helpful and professional, with english speaking staff available. Hotel is situated right in the lake and conveniently located to shops, restaurants, bus, within 10 mi walk to train station.They also have a shuttle to the train station. The roof top had a foot bath with a beautiful view of the lake and Fuji san. Hotel has all amenities such as spa, room service, daily housekeeping, etc. Free coffee and tea in the lounge area is also available. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would stay here again!

We loved our stay! the free shuttle picked us up from the bus station, all the staff were amazingly sweet and helpful, the in-room kaiseki meal was beautiful and delicious, the breakfast buffet was a great mix of both japanese and western options,and our in-room onsen with a view of lake Kawaguchiko was lovely. We haven't stayed at any of the other hotels/ryokans in the Kawaguchiko area but we would gladly go back to Konansou

The staff is excellent, facilities excellent, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was supreme but unfortunately we were not able to reserve dinner during our stay. The local food options are a bit limited after 5 pm so be aware that your walking food options are small

Konansou was nicely located, with a beautiful view of the lake from our room. We loved the complimentary shuttle service to Kawaguchiko station. It was very convenient. Just need to ask at the information center for pick up on initial arrival and they will call the hotel for you. The hotel itself is not the newest but it was very clean. The staff were all very respectful and eager to help. We had the traditional Japanese style room with private onsen and lake view. We enjoyed it but still booked a private onsen experience to get Mt Fuji views. That was a good decision. We also did the half board and stayed for 2 days. The kaiseki dinner was incredible and we are glad that they serve different meals for each day. The breakfast was mostly the same though, but they have a variety of food to choose from. Our attendant, Rai was very friendly and did his best to explain our dinner to us despite the language difference. Lastly, they have a foot bath on the top floor and you can have a full view of Mt. Fuji up there. Overall, we are very pleased with our ryokan experience and highly recommend it to everyone.
