This was a last minute booking due to an error I made. The room was lovely and clean. It was nicely appointed and modern. I went out for dinner but I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg for breakfast and it was nicely presented and well cooked. The only thing stopping me giving it 5/5 overall was minor noise overnight. There was a fan in the bathroom that I couldn’t seem to control (not the switch controlled extractor which went off after a short time) and because the rooms are quite close and the doors are heavy there was some noise at times but it’s a pub with rooms rather than a hotel so it’s probably to be expected. Overall it was ideal for a night and I’d still return again as the overall stay outweighed the minor noise issue.

On arrival, the property was fully locked down. There was a repair man who said that the hotel was closed and gave the excuse as a gas leak. I told him that I was booked into the Hotel and he said oh no problem. I’ll get you a key there were no facilities for food or drinks which was very disappointing on arrival at a local facility when I explained that the property I had booked was closed they said yes it’s because of a rat infestation and they’re closed until further notice this I found to be quite distasteful the fact that I had not been notified by Hotels.com in advance and it certainly wasn’t as advertised I feel aggrieved to have been charged the amount of money for this property with no facilities whatsoever I would not rate this as a potential return visit very very disappointed overall

It is a lovely pub with cosy rooms. The staff was lovely and the food delicious. If there is one thing that could be better is addition of protein to vegetarian options through natural whole food sources. For example, tofu, chickpeas, lentils and beans.
