Stayed 2 nights

Stayed here due to proximity to Scafell. The hotel looks nice upon initial first impressions but our cottage Lingard was tired and tatty with stained carpets, dirty bathroom blind and mould round the windows. The decor is all very dated with cheap furniture which has seen better days. Kitchen was well equipped. The stairs and floorboards are all very creaky. There wan an outside floodlight which was on 24/7 and shone through the bedroom and landing window.  Didn't visit the bar or hotel due to short opening hours so can't comment on this.  This has the potential to be really nice and be worth what we paid, if not more, but some TLC is needed. Served its purpose but wouldn't stay again!

We booked the hotel in the Monday as we were going to climb Scafell on the Tuesday and it was ideal place. We found the cottage to be very comfortable and had all the amenities required. Definitely would recommend people to stay there.
