Room was fine for a night’s sleep. However, it was confusing arriving in the dark and rain. One hard to spot, small sign posted on a building about checking in at a hotel across the street. Wasn’t in the Hotels.com check in info. Apparently both were bought and transitioning to Motel 6. That should give a clear idea of the level of motel this is. Had a tiny pedestal type sink with no where to put your bathroom items and a 1950s pink and green tile shower with non slip tape peeling off. Had microwave and mini fridge. Room looked like it had some updates except the bath. Was truly mediocre overall.

The Lamplighter was a good inexpensive place to stay by Bryce Canyon. We booked 4 rooms and everyone said the their rooms were good. Staff was very nice.

From the outside this motel isn't very attractive. When I booked through Hotels.com, it showed that they only had one room available, which was a room with two queen beds. It took a few minutes to find the office to check in and I had to ask another visitor because the office is across the street. When I entered the room, it was compromised of two rooms that included three queen beds and two televisions, which was a lot more than I needed. The room was recently updated, slightly. It was freshly painted, there was new flooring throughout and the beds were new. They had installed a new AC unit that was installed below, what I assume, was the old location that was below a window . In the old space there was just a board, with space all-around it. Not very secure and the old space had not been cleaned or prepped properly. Unfortunately, there was also no hot water and the tub in my room didn't drain properly. After just a couple of minutes in the shower, I was standing in 3 inches of filthy water. It was disgusting. Don't bother staying here.

Overall, the experience was good and also very affordable. Their office for check-in is at a different motel across the street and I had to call to find them. Another guest was having the same issue as we were leaving one day and I told them where to find the office. The ice machine was empty/broken and looked as if it had been since the 80s. Apart from that, the room was clean and comfortable. There were plenty of outlets / charging spots for electronics, which was really appreciated.
