Property was good older building for sure there is an elevator and or stairs you can take ice machine on the bottom floor. After 9:30pm They lock the parking garage,which is nice. Hotel offered breakfast. It was good eggs were hot sausages, coffee, toast, yogurt. Right across the street is the ocean you can have beach fires the restaurant down the road called 50 parallel was really good but it closed at 9 PM.

I have been pleasantly surprised with the property. It is an older complex, but well kept in a kind of Bavarian style. My one bdrm suite was clean spacious. It met my expectations. I arrived with my medium sized dog; she was comfortable, and I felt at home right away. It was easy to take her out. Just wanna see walk. The underground parking was very convenient during the heavy rain. Well, I would definitely like to come back.

We booked this hotel last minute because of an incoming storm. The reviews seemed promising, so we booked a king room. Upon arrival, it was apparent that the floor hadn’t been vacuumed as there was debris and toenail clippings at the foot of the bed. The check in process was also somewhat confusing, but it all ended up working out. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, and the continental breakfast was decent. I don’t think we will stay again due to the condition of the floor, which is unfortunate because otherwise it would have been a good experience for us.

Very outdated and run down. Needs lots of work. Could hear the people talking next door. Carpets are extremely dirty in the hallways. Dirty seat cushioning in the breakfast room. There was no shampoo and body wash in the bathroom. The staff were really nice. We were able to check in at 1:30 am.

Filthy carpet....unlit and empty front desk. The suite seemed clean, but smelled like deodorizer was possibly trying to hide something. We felt uneasy sleeping there and would not ever go back.

Our room was fine , outdated but clean, comfortable bed. What turned us off was the hall and stairways. They were filthy on check in and worse on checkout. I suspect they had not been vacuumed in weeks. We have stayed here more than once, the halls and stairs were in the same state last time as well. For that reason we will be staying elsewhere in the future.

Excellent service. Staff member went over and above to accommodate my partner who had limited mobility. Hotel carpet and furnishing are old but clean and functional. Rooms are not soundproofed and able to hear conversations in the room next door.

Quaint apartment style suite. Stayed in the one bedroom suite. 2 queen beds, one in bedroom and one in Murphy bed in living room. Comfortably sleeps 4. Great view from the balcony, ocean right across the street. No air conditioning.

Es gab nicht genug Parkplätze für alle Gäste, die Rezeption war abends nicht besetzt und es kam auch eine halbe Stunde niemand obwohl mehrere Gäste anstanden um einzuchecken, auch auf das klingeln reagierte niemand. Man konnte niemand fragen wo man jetzt parken solle weil alle Parkplätze belegt waren sodass man auf der Straße parken musste.

Never had i ever had an over night property person just use there key card and walk in without knocking or asking to enter, let alone it happened at 249 am Have stayed with rhis hotel in the pass and never had a problem like this before. Yes they gave me a discount for the inconvenience. But they do not have the right just to enter at wee hours of the morning

Heron's Landing is our go-to hotel when we need to travel to Campbell River from the North Island for medical appointments or other reasons. I know there have been a few bumps in the transition to new owners and staff, but I think the problems will smooth out. Tannis at the front desk has been so helpful with everything we've needed, even washing and setting aside my son's blanket when we forgot it. The kitchenettes are the bomb, with closets perfect for hide and seek. If you're from North Vancouver Island, there's a discount for locals who need to travel.

When we checked in there was no one at the desk. It was self check in that day. Our room key did not work so i needed help from a housekeeper to re program the key. I had questions about the under ground parking as this was not mentioned in ad. Also not sure why they would put people with pets on the upper floors with carpet in the room.

When I arrived I had to read multiple signs from the front door and front desk as there were no staff and this was late afternoon. I picked up the telephone and dialed 0 and a chinese man with limited english came down the stairs very casually dressed. (I thought he was a guest in sleep wear). He was like I was a bother from the get go even though I had a reservation. The first thing he said was payment not hello or welcome or nothing other than payment. He took my credit card and ran it through I have no idea what he was doing but the card came back as fraud. After several tries, I told him he was doing it wrong and I guided him on how to process the payment, I have never used the system as a merchant before but it worked. I gave me a room card I went to the room and was disappointed as it does not look like the pictures on line. It is very dated which I was expecting from the price but the bedspread was greyish white with noticeable stains all over. I went back to the desk he was still there still asking for my credit card which made me feel uncomfortable. He came to the room and said this is what all the rooms look like. He reassigned me another room which was better but noisey from the upstairs (brought ear plugs) and still not a sense of clean. Maybe update the bedspreads and shower curtains as the torn ripped and stained look does not look appealing. You get what you pay for...

Nice clean hotel. Friendly staff. Water view from every balcony. See the cruise ships go by in the evening. No AC so on a hot evening you need the balcony door open and there is considerable noise from the road. There was a smokers spot just outside our balcony which contributed to the noise. Breakfast doesn't start until 9:00 which is too late in our opinion. We couldn't wait that long before having to leave. All in all a nice stay.

Overall we were very pleased with the Heron. We had a two bed two bath room that felt more like an apartment than a hotel room. Full kitchen was a nice feature as well as the expansive balcony. It’s a little tired and could use an update, but it was very clean, which we really appreciated. The staff were excellent and very helpful and friendly. Fairly close to town and right across the highway from the ocean never hurts either.

Good value and it was located across the street from a walkway along the water. They upgraded us to a suite so that we had lots of room and it was very comfortable. The furnishings were dated and the lobby minuscule. Hot breakfast was good.

It is so deceitful to say breakfast is included and then say on the weekend it doesn’t start till 9 AM. Who the hell eats at 9 AM in the morning. I think they’re just out to save money and they don’t want people eating breakfast. It used to be six or 630 but I guess new owners are managers changed it. I won’t be staying here again.

They ran out of breakfast food before the end of the breakfast time. They didn’t have any clean bowls left for the only thing left to eat which was cereal. There is no decaf coffee at breakfast but they had 3 cerafs of regular coffee, maybe 1 could be decaf. The in room kitchen was poorly stocked no frying pan, no forks. However there was a cupboard with 5 dog toys in the kitchen? The place definitely charges way too much for what they offer. The perk of the hotel is that there is a beach across the road. The person at the front desk in the evening saw my 2 young adult sons, asked if they were even guest. She quickly tried to pretend it didn’t happen when she saw my husband and I a few seconds later.
