Monemvasia is really an interesting, beautiful location. Be aware that this is not convenient - there's a long walk into any hotel there and lots of stairs. We loved our stay here. It really is like staying in a castle. Definitely go for the view rooms if one is available. The breakfast was plentiful and full of choices unique to Greece. Plan to have a drink at the bar. Don’t stay here if you have difficulty with climbing. Lots of steep stone stairs.

This is a beautiful hotel with amazing views and a very good breakfast buffet. If you are ready to take a decent walk through this cobbled town and climb stairs you will be rewarded with a charming room and magical views

This is a very nice hotel with lots of character right in the fortified town. However, if you have any mobility problems the hotel’s location and rooms may be a challenge. Lots of uneven walking and stairs and our room had some steep stairs in it and was a little difficult to get around in. Parking is on the road and you’ll have to walk about 300 metres to get to the hotel inside the old town.

Tolles Ambiente nach der fußläufigen und durch die Rollen der Trolleys sehr lauten Ankunft am Hotel durch die tollen engen Straßen. Da die Zimmer auf mehrere Gebäude verteilt sind, sehr heimelig. Da das Hotel am öslichen Ende der Stadt liegt grenzt direkt ein schöner offener Hang an, im April über und über blühend. Frühstück war sehr vielseitig, beliebt war der frisch gepresste Orangensaft. Auch der Außenbereich mit mehreren Terrassen zum Verweilen lädt zum Entspannen ein.

Magical! Stay in the castle. It is an experience like no other. Great breakfast with eggs, sausage, yogurt and baked treats. Everyone was so cheerful and helpful. Only downside was the parking. Even off season, it was quite a distance and you carry your luggage over cobblestones inside castle. There re numerous steps to navigate BUT. We’ll worth the effort.

It's a nice hotel but not accessible. There are many stairs to get around the hotel with no lift and the walkways inside the town consist of slippery stones and many stairs as well. The staff were friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The WiFi didn't work most of the three days we stayed there and nobody at the hotel knew why it wouldn't work. Parking is a bit of a hassle because you can't drive to the hotel so you have to find parking along the road outside the castle walls or park in a parking lot on the other side of the bridge and it's about a 20 walk uphill unless you can find a shuttle for 2 euros per person or find a taxi which there were not many of. Expedia also provided a receipt saying my hotel was prepaid and the only money owning was 9 euros for taxes, however Expedia did not charge my card (which was originally quoted in CAD) so I had to pay the hotel in Euros so the cost ended up being quite a bit more since it wasn't at the originally exchange rate that I had booked at. Apparently the hotel is aware of this problem and it happens to all their bookings with Expedia so I want overly impressed that it's a known issue that they aren't working to correct. Overall it was a nice stay even though there were a few hiccups.

We had a great stay and I would highly recommend it Just one thing to note it’s a long walk from where you drop your luggage off so if you’re only going for a few days take a little amount so you don’t have to carry too much

The bathroom is unaceptable in this price. Black mold , spiders , and other crawling insects. Towels need replacement Bed sheets are worned out

Fantastic location and the view of the ocean from our room. Breakfast was super good, the best one during our trip in Greece. The property is not new and there was some smell of old wood in the room. I hoped to use the fireplace as it was cold outside but they didn’t have wood, so it was disappointing.

Η θέα από το δωμάτιο που κλείσαμε ήταν καταπληκτική! Το δωμάτιο ήταν σε γενικές γραμμές πολύ καλό αλλά χρειαζόταν μεγαλύτερη μέριμνα στην καθαριότητα και κάποιες επιπλέον παροχές, πχ καλαθάκι για σκουπίδια και δυνατότητα να κάνει κανείς καφέ, γιατί η πρόσβαση του ήταν δύσκολη - ειδικά για ανθρώπους με κινητικά θέματα - εφόσον δεν γινόταν να παραγγείλει κάποιος στο δωμάτιο.

I appreciate the location of this hotel but to have over 200 dead and alive woodlouse in your room is not acceptable. It was infested! Upon arrival we were shown our room and the man just kicked the dead ones aside and shrugged his shoulders. It was like the room had never been swept. They were in the bed, towels EVERYWHERE! The breakfast was poor, worse than any I have experienced in my 30 years of travelling to Greece. There was a slight confusion at check out and the way it was dealt with was atrocious. The man at reception was nothing short obnoxious. Location is great but I would avoid at all costs.

Monemvasia is an amazing place to visit. Felt like we were living in a medieval castle. The room was comfortable with a nice balcony. Great breakfast. Friendly staff. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

Schönes Hotel. Wir hatten ein Standardzimmer mit Meerblick in der obersten (2.) Etage. Der Ausblick ist super. Frühstück hervorragend, nur der Kaffee kann noch optimiert werden.

We hired the family room that sleeps 5. Good bathroom and comfortable living area. The kids loved living within the walls of the Castro which was an amazing experience. The views are breathtaking. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and looked after us well. Highly recommend.

Jimmy at the front was very friend as was Dousa (sp?) who made a wonderful breakfast wvery morning. The gentleman in the snack/coffee bar also makes wonderful smoothies. The views from the hotel are incredible. Staying inside the castle walls is definitely memorable -I will be back.

We loved our time there, even though we had bad coughs and colds the whole time! We had finished a 2-week trip with friends in Turkey and Greece, and this was our special "couple time" to celebrate a big anniversary - but we had gotten sick the week before. Still, Jimmy and the staff at the hotel did a WONDERFUL job providing and caring for us, and it was such a special time. I couldn't recommend a hotel higher! And if you're going to be stuck in bed, this is the place to be. :-)

We hired the family room that sleeps 5. Good bathroom and comfortable living area. The kids loved living within the walls of the Castro which was an amazing experience. The views are breathtaking. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and looked after us well. Highly recommend.

Magical! Stay in the castle. It is an experience like no other. Great breakfast with eggs, sausage, yogurt and baked treats. Everyone was so cheerful and helpful. Only downside was the parking. Even off season, it was quite a distance and you carry your luggage over cobblestones inside castle. There re numerous steps to navigate BUT. We’ll worth the effort.

I appreciate the location of this hotel but to have over 200 dead and alive woodlouse in your room is not acceptable. It was infested! Upon arrival we were shown our room and the man just kicked the dead ones aside and shrugged his shoulders. It was like the room had never been swept. They were in the bed, towels EVERYWHERE! The breakfast was poor, worse than any I have experienced in my 30 years of travelling to Greece. There was a slight confusion at check out and the way it was dealt with was atrocious. The man at reception was nothing short obnoxious. Location is great but I would avoid at all costs.

This is a very nice hotel with lots of character right in the fortified town. However, if you have any mobility problems the hotel’s location and rooms may be a challenge. Lots of uneven walking and stairs and our room had some steep stairs in it and was a little difficult to get around in. Parking is on the road and you’ll have to walk about 300 metres to get to the hotel inside the old town.

We had a great stay and I would highly recommend it Just one thing to note it’s a long walk from where you drop your luggage off so if you’re only going for a few days take a little amount so you don’t have to carry too much

Monemvasia is magical, such an amazing place to visit. Bastione Malvasia was a great place to stay within the walls of the village. The room was comfortable and the view was outstanding. Morning breakfast provided by the hotel was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay here. It really is like staying in a castle. Definitely go for the view rooms if one is available. The breakfast was plentiful and full of choices unique to Greece. Plan to have a drink at the bar. Don’t stay here if you have difficulty with climbing. Lots of steep stone stairs.

Jimmy on reception was excellent and the Hotel is beautiful and if you can book a superior room that comes with a balcony it is worth it for the amazing views out to sea and over the rooftops of this amazing place.the only things that I think could be improved so that I would give the hotel an overall total of 5* is the air con unit in our room number 8 didn’t really blow cold air which made it hard to sleep and I also think they could do with a toasting machine at breakfast

This is a gem of a hotel. The location is at the far end of the town (but still only a six-minute walk from the main gate). We had our own balcony with a lovely view of the wall and sea. The staff was very helpful in scheduling our ride back to Athens. The breakfast was excellent.
