Glan Aber Hotel

Room was fantastic. The hotel was in need of a tidy up. Reception is a mess, staff disheveled, driveway and parking were great, but you’ll run into workers in uniform and aprons smoking out the back door of the kitchen. Location was fantastic and walkable to the towns other hotels, pubs and shops. Skip the breakfast, even if included. Still a good stay.

Great location, nice breakfast, nice bar, free parking and good free WiFi...just a bit outdated, especially in the rooms.

Our room was charming and comfortable and the breakfast was hearty. This was a great location to get to the trailheads to the summit as well as.many forest hikes. It was very convenient to the Sherpa bus stop to.take the bus to trailheads and to Caenarfon Castle. The only limitation was the small car park but there are several pay car parks nearby.

Very pleasant staff and lovely location. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. We had our dog with us and the property is very dog friendly. Breakfast had lots of choice including a cooked breakfast (and an option to provide a sausage for the dog). Only very minor criticisms - breakfast starts at 8 - seems quite late for a weekday stay. The property is probably due a bit of a refresh but it certainly wouldn't stop us staying there again.

Me and my friend really looked forward to our stay after hiking and camping in rainy weather in Snowdonia. We booked specifically for the spa, so were beyond disappointed upon arrival, when we were told that we could not book a slot in the spa because all slots were being saved for GroupOn guests which had this feature included in a deal - but who might or might not even want to use the spa! Despite there being free slots, we were not allowed to book one. I am absolutely appalled by this - hence the low rating. I think that if you have a deal on which prevents other guests to enjoy their stay fully, then send out an email and give us a chance to book elsewhere. After begging and getting a bit annoyed, the person at reception finally gave us a 5pm slot - only because some GroupOn guests had not arrived in time. 2nd disappointment: no hot water in the room, showered in freezing water. The 3rd disappointment came when we wanted to book a table for dinner. At check-in we were told that we could decide re dinner later. At 6pm we tried to book at any time they had a table free, we were flexible. Only to be told that everything was fully booked. Surprised that a hotel doesn't do more than one sitting, we could see the dining room currently had plenty of room. But we ate elsewhere and came back just after 8pm. To find an abandoned dining room and a half-empty bar! Must've been a crammed hour of dinner service while we were away!!

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room i booked needed maintenance, so we were offered an upgrade to the suite, which was lovely and big. Cleanliness was overall great, but i did find a couple of dog hairs on the bed. The hotel bar was great and drinks prices were reasonable. Would stay there again

Great location in the centre of the village. Very friendly staff made us and our little dog very welcome. Breakfast selection and quality was excellent so was the choice of food for evening meals.

The hotel was very clean. The staff were lovely. The rooms could do with updating but for the price this hotel is amazing. The breakfast was really good.

Easy location and staff very pleasant. Unfortunately the housekeeping was not done and therefore dirty cups in room and no clean towels. Although staff friendly and oblidging the hygiene could be worked up on. No tongs to touch bread only your hands! The milk jugs bought out by holding the inside of the jug! Very old and needs money spending g on it. Noisy on main road . Ivy growing into the windows. Would not go again .

Sorry I don’t like leaving a poor review but !! My room was miserable solo room , window lock was broken so couldn’t leave on latch , the very small shower room wasn’t very clean , asked to have money back to leave but couldn’t as manager had gone on holiday !I was offered another room but that was worse , mouldy lamp shades /curtains. Crack in the sink , hair in the bath plug hole , furniture all shabby … lamps and kettle not working but got them fixed by a lovey handy man …some staff didn’t speak , others were lovely … glad to come home early

I foubd an anti-depressant tablet by the side of of bed , there is still rubbish under it. The room clearly had not been cleaned prior to my arrival. Nor did anyone bother to clean it after i reported finding the tabket, a chikd or oet ciukd have easily found and eaten it.The bathroom was full of black mould, the ceiling, the tiles and the shower cubicle need to be bleached and cleaned correctly, I have asthma and my travelling companion has COPD. We not expecting to find mould. I fell in reception , tripped over some door stops, I reported to reception, was not asked how I was but offered some ice, no mention of an accident book to record the incident in. the door stops were still in same position the following day. Tge mattresses were extremely uncomfortable, offering no support, sheets loosely on ved, not fitted, so moved about wgen slept in.A very disappointing and uncomfortable stay

Hotel was cosy... but room could have done with a general update. A double room. But two single beds thrown together. And bathroom had a horrible smell belive it was drain issue. Food was ok.

We had a lovely break here. Hotel is not new, but full of character, which I personally prefer over slick modern hotels, and the hotel is no more than 20 miles ish from everything to do in this area. Perfect.
