Love this guest house, it has lots of character and original features from its previous farming days. The hosts are absolutely lovely, so welcoming and friendly and cannot do enough for you. My favorite part is being able to sit in the communal living room in front of a roaring fire with a nice hot cocoa and slice of cake.

There is a lot of history to the property and how it was restored to it's current very quirky incarnation from a derelict state over many years by owner Peter. Given his background as an antique furniture restorer there are many intersting artifacts in the property as well as a curio shop. Always something to make you smile.

Great place to stay for exploring area. Very comfortable and cosy room. Staff friendly and very helpful. Good breakfast and amazing sitting room with open wood burning stove.

Quirky place with antiques and gift shop on site. Loved the big bath in our room, and relaxing beside the open fire in the communal lounge in the evening. Really peaceful despite proximity to A1. Host recommended excellent place for dinner and taxi company to transport us.

Excellent - owners were lovely and accomodated my limited mobility needs. Renovation on the once delapidated property was superb. Additional shop v appealing and insight into restoration business. Great outside space (the weather was superb) v cosy lounge for residents which would be lovely. Only comment breakfast was a little on the cool side. The whole experience was wonderful and i shall definately return.

Delightful quirky accommodation; staff very friendly, lounge very homely with lovely log burner and plenty of glasses to enjoy your own drinks, snacks or takeaway food etc. Large communal tables which gives lots of opportunity to meet and socialise with other guests. Although our room wasn’t large it had everything we needed and was full of character. Alnwick has lots to see and do and lovely restaurants.

The rooms were quirky and an excellent reflection of the history of the setting - owners were friendly and well informed about places to visit and eat. Breakfast was delicious. Shared sitting room with log burner and comfortable sofas ensured that guests were able to mingle if they wished too.

Lovely quirky b and b with plenty of parking. Entry road to get off at on southbound carriageway A1 is easy to miss at first but once you know where your going it is ok with option to cross carriageway to northbound opp the driveway when driving out. Easy drive to Alnwick and Bamburgh castles plus Seahouses for fish n chips overlooking harbour. Friendly staff, great info binder in room and breakfast was delicious. Comfy beds!

The propery and rooms were substandard. Room not serviced. Dirty glasses not replaced. Towels like kitchen scourers. Shower screen and slip mat dirty. Bed linen did not fit. Overall a dreadful experience and should not be used. All in all exterior like an encampment and untidy.how 3 star justified we do not understand. Maybe another inspection needed. 110 pound per night was an insult.

I spent two nights here whilst visiting Northumberland with friends. This is certainly a 'quirky' B&B, and one I would definitely return too in the future. The welcome was very warm and my single room was full of charm, well appointed and spotlessly clean. Despite being right by the A1 I was not disturbed by any traffic noise, even with the window open. Breakfast was cooked to order, and delicious, and the homemade bread and jams were excellent. It was nice to sit around one of the three large tables with other guests too, a very friendly way to start the day. I would highly recommend Alnwick Lodge to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.

One of a kind . A quirky re-purposed farm with lovely courtyard and garden features. Clean and comfortable. Access to the property is directly from the fast and busy A1 dual carriageway making every arrival and departure feel somewhat edgy.

We loved our stay at Alnwick Lodges. A quirky B and B with lovely, clean facilities and olde worlde atmosphere with a ready made antiques shop too. All staff were very friendly and hospitable even when very busy. A super cooked breakfast was available as well as the usual toast, bread, cereal, fruit. All lovely and fresh. Highly recommend a visit. Ideal location for visits to Alnwick.

Very quirky and interesting place to stay. Breakfast was lovely. Staff are lovely. Room was ok. We had a few woodlice we needed to get rid of. The sky light window isn't fully shut so maybe they were coming in there. If other people used water we could hear it right next to us. Room was lovely and warm with radiator on but as soon as you stepped out of your room it was quite cold. It said shop was open 8.30 till 4 i think but you couldnt find anyone around and it felt awkward wandering from room to room in the dark looking. It wasnt for us but if you like something a bit different definitely worth a night stay to visit surrounding areas.

Delightful place set around a courtyard. Very clean and spacious room with everything you could need. We were in East Granary room. Breakfast was good - help yourself to toast, yoghurt and fruit salad while they make you full English. Cafetiere of excellent coffee. Very friendly staff.

The building is charming, a warren of antique rooms and staircases. We stayed in the Silver Bath room, where our 5-year-old was quickly entertained by the bathtub. The beds were comfy, the room was clean, warm, and delightfully quirky.

Was a different experience - room small but we knew that before we arrived. Was clean and had tea making facilities which is always welcome. Breakfast very good. Only downside was the room was very warm and only small skylight to open. A1 is a very busy road and a bit scary driving out of the drive.

Situated alongside the A1 (little road noise), the Alnwick Lodge is a very quirky and quaint accommodation. Very good parking facilities. We were greeted by the resident chickens (cockerill awakes at 0500!) We stayed in the 'Round House', which was accessed by a stone staircase and rope handrail. Room was clean. Bathroom was a little tight (low beams) and the shower was very restricted of head height (if you were over around 5 feet tall). All this said, we enjoyed our stay and the staff were lovely. There was an aroma in the bedroom from the fire which was in the downstairs sitting. Aroused great childhood memories for me, but could be a little disconcerting for others. We chose a full English breakfast, which was lovely. There are galleries where you can purchase old artefacts and furniture. A good location to get into Alnwick and other towns such as Alnmout.h, Bamburgh, Seahouses, Beadnell with the Lodge being only around 2 miles away

A lovely old B&B. Quite unique and quirky. Bedroom was nice and bed was comfortable for a good nights sleep. Room did not have a shower (which I prefer) but did have a bath, which some people could struggle to get in and out of. Breakfast was fabulous with good quality produce. Evening meals are not served but plenty of options within driving distance. Only about 5 to 10 minutes drive to the centre of Alnwick and the castle. I would stay there again.

Its an incredible building, very quaint with loads of charecter. The staff are really friendly. Breakfast is ok, we didnt get sausages, but apart from that...full english with a wide range of sides. The room was comfortable, but no window ( due to the design.) Not really Alnwick, and you WILL need a car :)

Very interesting place, run by very welcoming people who serve a cracking breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay here, but our room (Tack room) was too hot unfortunately- it doesn’t have an external window and it got really stuffy over night.

We really enjoyed the cosy aesthetic of the B&B, although the room was quite small and my partner kept bumping his head on beams! We also loved how convenient it was to get to the the B&B and it served a great base for a wedding we attended at Doxford Barns. Unfortunately we were left very disappointed when we ordered a cooked breakfast in the morning (included in our booking), but were completely forgotten about. We were sharing the dining room with just one other family, so it wasn't like it was very busy. This was a big shame, and would give us second thought on booking again.
We really enjoyed the cosy aesthetic of the B&B, although the room was quite small and my partner kept bumping his head on beams! The stay was unique the property was very well put together with all the facilities but made from antique and oldie worldie fixtures. The owners were welcoming and jnformative. Breakfast was good and surroundings beautiful. Will go again.

The check-in was efficient and friendly. The room was comfortable and in good condition. The issues around service occurred at breakfast. The room was not laid out in time for the start of breakfast at 8.00 and the member of staff on duty was 'overrun' and unable to cope. Several people had to wait long periods for simple orders - porridge, boiled egg and one left for work without having had breakfast. The quality of the food was very good.

The rooms were quirky and an excellent reflection of the history of the setting - owners were friendly and well informed about places to visit and eat. Breakfast was delicious. Shared sitting room with log burner and comfortable sofas ensured that guests were able to mingle if they wished too.

Great location on A1, just outside Alnwick. Advised to check in between 16.00-18.00 but couldn't find anyone. We were eventually helped by another guest. Room was pleasant enough although beds were creaky and uncomfortable. Faulty toilet: wouldn't flush. Breakfast is in the dining room and we had to wait, which wasn't an issue, but if you like to keep ourself to yourself when away, this is NOT the place to go. Only 3 tables: each seating about 12 people, so forcing you to sit and eat with strangers. We were assured our toilet would be repaired while we were out for the day, but upon our return, it was still broken, but the thing that worried us most was that the full set of master keys had been left in our door, enabling anyone to gain access to our room. We then couldn't find anyone to speak to, so had to resort to phoning the place. The gentleman who then came to our room then told us there was nothing wrong with our toilet and couldn't see a problem, with the keys being left in the lock. We decided to leave early.

Alnwick lodge was a great surprise to us. We booked after struggling to find dog friendly accommodation in the town and we are so glad we did. The place is a treasure and the hosts were both so helpful and welcoming. We will definitely stay again.

It was an amazing place to stay with all its unique rooms and and shared spaces. I would just like to say the it could do with a place name on the other side of the entrance. So that you can see it when your coming along the A1. Easy to miss.

I spent two nights here whilst visiting Northumberland with friends. This is certainly a 'quirky' B&B, and one I would definitely return too in the future. The welcome was very warm and my single room was full of charm, well appointed and spotlessly clean. Despite being right by the A1 I was not disturbed by any traffic noise, even with the window open. Breakfast was cooked to order, and delicious, and the homemade bread and jams were excellent. It was nice to sit around one of the three large tables with other guests too, a very friendly way to start the day. I would highly recommend Alnwick Lodge to anyone looking for accommodation in the area.

Alnwick Lodge is next to A1 so careful access is needed. The breakfast provided was good. You could not walk anywhere from the accommodation but Alnwick town and attractions were excellent. the owners of the property were very attentive and friendly. the rooms were very clean and the showers were always hot.

One of a kind . A quirky re-purposed farm with lovely courtyard and garden features. Clean and comfortable. Access to the property is directly from the fast and busy A1 dual carriageway making every arrival and departure feel somewhat edgy.

Lovely quirky b and b with plenty of parking. Entry road to get off at on southbound carriageway A1 is easy to miss at first but once you know where your going it is ok with option to cross carriageway to northbound opp the driveway when driving out. Easy drive to Alnwick and Bamburgh castles plus Seahouses for fish n chips overlooking harbour. Friendly staff, great info binder in room and breakfast was delicious. Comfy beds!

Its an incredible building, very quaint with loads of charecter. The staff are really friendly. Breakfast is ok, we didnt get sausages, but apart from that...full english with a wide range of sides. The room was comfortable, but no window ( due to the design.) Not really Alnwick, and you WILL need a car :)

Was a different experience - room small but we knew that before we arrived. Was clean and had tea making facilities which is always welcome. Breakfast very good. Only downside was the room was very warm and only small skylight to open. A1 is a very busy road and a bit scary driving out of the drive.

Very unusual property based in an antiques centre. The owners are welcoming. The rooms are cosy and clean with an en suite shower and tea and coffee making facilities. The only downside is the walls are paper thin between the rooms. Delicious home cooked breakfast with large tables in the antique centre. I would come back if they sound proof the rooms.

We really enjoyed the cosy aesthetic of the B&B, although the room was quite small and my partner kept bumping his head on beams! We also loved how convenient it was to get to the the B&B and it served a great base for a wedding we attended at Doxford Barns. Unfortunately we were left very disappointed when we ordered a cooked breakfast in the morning (included in our booking), but were completely forgotten about. We were sharing the dining room with just one other family, so it wasn't like it was very busy. This was a big shame, and would give us second thought on booking again.

It was a gem we found......its very old worldly and our hosts where excellent.......really fantastic breakfast nothing to much trouble would recommend a stay......our shower in the tack room was super powerful.......thanks for a good stay.

This place is amazing. So beautifully restored, and I thought a bargain for the price. I suspect this is due to the fact you have to drive to get to any local shops etc. Breakfast was a bit of a conveyor belt with no cooked veggie options but the staff were friendly and kind

The check-in was efficient and friendly. The room was comfortable and in good condition. The issues around service occurred at breakfast. The room was not laid out in time for the start of breakfast at 8.00 and the member of staff on duty was 'overrun' and unable to cope. Several people had to wait long periods for simple orders - porridge, boiled egg and one left for work without having had breakfast. The quality of the food was very good.

Excellent - owners were lovely and accomodated my limited mobility needs. Renovation on the once delapidated property was superb. Additional shop v appealing and insight into restoration business. Great outside space (the weather was superb) v cosy lounge for residents which would be lovely. Only comment breakfast was a little on the cool side. The whole experience was wonderful and i shall definately return.

The hotel is the brainchild of Peter the owner whose acquaintance we were lucky to have made. For over forty years he has laboured to convert a a former derelict dairy farm into a hotel. And he has succeeded! From the sheltered courtyard with abundant herbs and wild flowers ringing with bird song, to the individuality of each room, the spacious sitting room, the dining room where each table is nestled in a horse box to the vast displays of quaint objects and antique furniture, and the wooden chair on the roof. The hotel takes one’s breath away. I cannot wait to return!

We like quirky places and this is on a whole new level. Beautifully maintained, spotlessly clean, and a real fire going in the summer, so a glass of wine and a book by the fire is just perfect. Just love the place!

This hotel is unique and absolutely lovely! The owners were friendly and helpful and so we're the ladies in the dining room. The breakfast was delicious..We would certainly stay here again.. One thing to be aware of is that the hotel is right by the A1 so the turning for West Cawledge Park is directly off the A1.

Love this place! It's my second time staying here, only for 1 night each time, but really worth it. It's a very customized B&B. Each room is a work of love and craftsmanship. The included breakfast is home cooked with love. I was so impressed with Alnwick Lodge the first time I stayed here, that on my second visit I made sure to book with them again. It's a real experience in what hospitality should be.
