The hotel is quite nice but be aware that the restaurant and bar closes at 8.15 even thought reception says it 8.30 They would not let have a drink or anything at all. Very disappointing and we won’t be using this hotel again

The people at the hotel, specifically Sharon and Colette whom we encountered most, were so kind and friendly. We absolutely loved our stay. Note to other people who may not be accustomed to a more quaint style stay, this hotel does not have any fridges or ice so keeping food or drinks cold is not going to happen. Also, no air conditioners. We happened to stay during a pretty warm time so our room did get a little hot but the staff was very accommodating and found us a fan to use for the extent of our stay. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The town was quiet but still lovely and commuting was fine because the train is within walking distance. Make sure to grab food at The Mint if you’re in Coatbridge because it’s the best food you’ll find in all of Scotland from our perspective. Sorry Scotland, your food is terrible. Would I recommend the Mondo Hotel? Absolutely!

Two carparks, one is easy to get into and has a height restriction on it, the lower carpark is around the back of the hotel. Both good sizes Quick check on all information given Lift to all floors The room was a good size as was the shower room. Bed is super comfortable Wifi excellent Shower was hot and powerful then ½ though just lost power and it just dribbled out. Evening meal was good, tad on the pricey side, service was excellent. Location in the center of town, lots of nice walks close by. Would definitely stay again but definitely check the water situation first! And the biscuits as it was an opened packet with 1 eaten!!!

The bedrooms in the hotel were good quality but I booked because it says there is a bar and lounge area and there isn't, you can only get a drink in the restaurant and only if you are eating. This needs to be addressed as it is misleading and I wouldn't stay again because of this.

I think this property would have been rated higher if the elevator had worked. It had been down for nearly a week and my room was on the top floor. My luggage was pretty heavy so carrying all my belongings up/down four flights of stairs was quite grueling.

Poor, rooms in poor condition. Staff didn’t seems to know what they were doing and you can’t get a cup of coffee, soft drink or wine in the attached restaurant unless you have booked a meal. Will not be staying again. Hotel badly needs an upgrade

Easy parkingm convenient for electric car drivers. A few ports available and easy application to set up charging. Room was clean and tidy and provided all the amenities you could need for a short break. Bed and pillows were very ocmfortable. Would highly recommend as staff were fantastic!

Only complaint was as a hotel resident could not sit and have a drink in the bar/ restaurant when we came in at 9pm even though there were empty tables. Could only take drink to room. Not convenient if there are a few of you staying!

I arrived at the hotel really late in the evening and the reception was lovely and very helpful. First impressions when you walk in reception are it’s lovely, go through the door and it’s just not as nice. It’s def needing a good clean/hoover. The lift is a bit slow and takes its time, once in the room it was def cleaner however there was quite a few marks on the duvet cover, not sure if it was mould or something, bed was comfortable enough, tea and coffee stuff in the wardrobe but no fridge or water in the room, however I did get couple of bottles after asking at reception. The bathroom is nice however the plastic bath Matt was really dirty/stained so I never used that and the shower which is over the bath wasn’t that good. The hotel is off the restaurant which is lovely. The hotel is in right in the centre of Coatbridge perfect walking distance to train station, shops, pubs and restaurants which are near by. The hotel would do well if it was taken care off and re decorated. Staff are fabulous extremely helpful and really nice.

Stayed at this hotel after Expedia cancelled our booking 11 months after it was made and 3 weeks before we were due to visit Scotland. This was the hotel offered even though it was miles from where we wanted to be. The area of Coatbridge is very tired and rundown and even though the hotel bed was comfortable with clean linen there were aspects that let it down. Mould around the edge of the bath, bedside light not working, bathroom extractor not working, no prices on the breakfast menu. Things that could easily be fixed and make a huge difference especially at a £700 cost for a four night stay. All things were reported whilst at the hotel and only the fan issue was resolved.

A comfortable stay. Only complaint was when putting case on top of wardrobe, the dust flew every and when checked, it hadn’t been cleaned for ages. Room next door played loud music in early hours but reception dealt with this quickly and efficiently.

Very loud noises from the restaurant upstairs at 11pm. Apparently they were cleaning the floors. Then loud noises again in the hallway at 4am! Sounded like building work going on all around the room.

Another pleasant stay at the Mondo hotel. The 'Tassimo' coffee machine and selection of pods in my room was a nice touch. The blackout curtains were certainly blacking out the light which was very nice. Some light road noise from the main road outside, but nothing too significant.

Not great for the price. Hilton a few miles away, same price bracket but with a lot more facilities. Room was tiny-yes it has a king size (and comfortable) bed but literally no room to move or even store your case also not particularly clean. Lights beside bed literally hanging off and the toilet didn’t flush properly-was told to keep trying by staff. Wall have holes and the bathroom radiator was not actually connected. Hotel in general in need of a major upgrade as very very worn and tired-which the staff did acknowledge when I discussed being disappointed. Staff friendly but did not inspire confidence. I have a email from the hotel linking my two nights to stay in the one room- check in knew nothing-meant to fix-didn’t so had lots of problems following day. Hotel facilities are not great the onsite restaurant isn’t owned by the hotel and you aren’t allowed to have a drink at the bar or even a coffee without booking a table and ordering a meal. Location of hotel is good within walking distance to town and in my case function however will not stay again unless it has been refurbished and at least has facility to get coffee (even takeaway coffee) in the onsite restaurant. Would rather spend a few extra pounds on a taxi. This was booked for my 50th birthday as a treat and did not meet expectations only plus is it’s walkable location.

During my stay i had to endure all level of noice from the corridor as people marched up and down. The hotel room door was made not up to the job in terms of blocking this noise. May as well of being a sheet of paper. Also the first floor restaurant was above my room and provide constant noice from water and movement. Really not a pleasent and relaxing stay.. sadly will not return..

Hotel nice enough and good location for our needs, staff nice and helpful. A nightclub next to the Hotel made it a very noisy Saturday night/Sunday morning so not the best nights sleep.

Hotel was nice and clean but our room was very small. We had to put our suitcases on the bed in order to open them. Bathroom was updated. A little noisy with the window open. No air conditioning so needed the window open to get some fresh air.

Stayed here now on and off for past three months, staff are pleasant and helpful, always been on the 3rd floor no complaints but 1st and 2nd floor all the tv's in the rooms are dated, no Netflix apps don't load, ok if you want to watch stuff from the 80's or 90's,especially when they charge enough for the rooms.

I didn’t like the area, I was put in a room in which was extremely noisy, under the restaurant and right beside the lifts and stairs, it didn’t feel secure and I asked to be moved, I got moved but only once I packed my stuff and got the key did she say “your new room is a downgrade” which I thought was so poor. Overall wouldn’t stay again or recommend to anyone.

Ive just come back from a weekend stay at the mondo in coatbridge unfortunatelyi had a bad fall not long after arriving and booking in as soon as i was able to inform reception what had happened i cannot say in enough words the aftercare owas given by all the receptionstaff at the hotel was second to none they went the extra mile insure my aftercare and my needs becausei was bedridden were taken care of regards that there was perodic checks done by the staff to make sure iwas

Room was good and Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was of a good standard (Eggs Royale) and coffee was good. Reasonably priced too as we hadn't planned to eat there. Special mention to the night staff when we checked in after 11pm on the wrong day but managed to squeeze us in anyway. It's that sort of service that can be sorely lacking in some of the Chain hotels. Top Marks

Poor, rooms in poor condition. Staff didn’t seems to know what they were doing and you can’t get a cup of coffee, soft drink or wine in the attached restaurant unless you have booked a meal. Will not be staying again. Hotel badly needs an upgrade

The staff - particularly the evening clerk who checked me in was a pure delight. The pillows are very flat. The hotel is nice, but on first arrival felt a little sketchy. There are a couple restaurants in the area, but they weren't good. It's convenient to the rail station so easy to take side trips.

Easy parkingm convenient for electric car drivers. A few ports available and easy application to set up charging. Room was clean and tidy and provided all the amenities you could need for a short break. Bed and pillows were very ocmfortable. Would highly recommend as staff were fantastic!

Stayed here many times . Was down visiting family nearby so really only used the room for sleeping . Comfy bed and black out blinds gave us a good sleep . Handy for the town centre pubs and takeaways . Shower and amenities in the room are good with decent size TV.

Our stay at the Mondo was exceptional. The staff was friendly and helpful to answer all questions we had about the area and EV charging for our car hire. Many restaurants and grocery stores nearby within walking distance from hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay again.

Disappointing to find out that the hotel has no bar and the attached restaurant is owned separately. Also tried to go for a meal after 19.00 on Monday to be told that service stopped at 19.00. The hotel detail is misleading. The reception and housekeeping staff were great, friendly and helpful. The room itself was comfortable and clean. The room was serviced every day of our stay even with clean towels though we hung them up to reuse.

Reception staff on check in were extremely friendly and helpful. Room was clean and fresh. Another guest did phone our room around 11pm and told us to turn our TV down we were a little shocked as we didn’t have the TV on. Breakfast next door in the restaurant was good quality and reasonably priced too.
