Staff all very helpful & clean room. Lovely setting but being November, we didn't see it at it's best! Excellent breakfast - lots of choice. Fresh fruit & yoghurt, croissants, full english etc Bistro food menu is basically pub grub. Food was well prepared & served. It's a shame that the restaurant isn't open to ordinary residents. It is only open to conferences, meetings etc

Have stayed here often, always pleasant, safe and relaxed and good value. Friendly efficient staff, excellent quality food, comfortable and spotless rooms. Lovely surroundings on the Lickey Hills. Plenty of parking and convenient for M5 and M42 as well as Birmingham and W Midlands.

Great business stopoff, secure free parking, close to motorway network, spotless new rooms, very quiet (no traffic noise), full breakfast included. It's the hq of the Teachers Union, so institutional feel, but ideal for overnight stay. Thank you.

Nice big secure carpark. Lovely welcome at check -in. Good sized single room with an ensuite with an excellent, powerful shower. Breakfast (included) was excellent with quality ingredients. I wii definitely stay here again.

Lovely stay. We had a clean and tidy room in this characterful Victorian property, overlooking the lovely garden. Food was excellent, with a good selection from the Bistro menu, with great service from kitchen and bar. Nice keg beers too. The signage to the property isn't entirely obvious, so be alert on approach and don't be put off by the NASUWT signage that accompanies the Hillscourt web address on the entrance.

Easy to overlook the entrance from the road, there is lots of very good secure parking. A very good welcome with explanation of dining, bar and breakfast, together with access information. Excellent modern compact room, very good bathroom. Bar and barman James was extremely professional and personable. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty with lots of choice, hot and cold and very helpful staff. All in all a fantastic stay. Several other local eateries and pubs just in case!

Very comfortable bed, good shower, excellent breakfast. Lovely helpful staff. Nice building. Uinfortunately restaurant wasnt open for evening meals and bar was too full from a private party to dine there. But overall grand for our overnight stay.

Spotless! Everywhere was very clean, only downside was the light in my bathroom was on a sensor and went off when you were in the shower leaving you in darkness. Staff friendly, food good, little out of the way but worked for me.

Booking in was great lovely lady on reception. Room was a great size and very comfy bed but disturbed by the heating meaning a very hot room. The bathroom was not clean, very heavy black mould on the shower head, around the flooring and several areas of sealant that was off putting. Pizza was served cold but was replaced immediately and was very nice. Staff were all really great, helpful and cheerful.

The property is stunning in terms of the surroundings. I had a slight issue on my way in finding it as the signage on the country road isn’t very clear so I drove past the turning twice. When I arrived again the signage isn’t very clear about where to go and park. There are signs for reception but they are coupled with signs for a teachers union which I personally found confusing as I was unsure if I was in the correct place. The staff were super friendly and helpful during check in, and in the bistro bar. The pricing in the bistro bar was also very good, I had a pizza and a large glass of wine which was all very enjoyable. My room was well presented, and clean. The bathroom looked like the towels had just been replaced but not cleaned as there was hair which looked like someone had just shaved over the sink and the shelf. The shower had a few hairs in also. The hairdryer on the wall in the bathroom wasn’t great, I believe if you simply swapped these for normal hairdryers they would be much better. The breakfast was good, there was a good selection of foods and drinks. Checkout was easy also. Overall a good stay, with slight changes it would’ve been a great stay!

Absolutely one of the best hotel experiences Ive had in a long time. The hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. My room was small but very well appointed. Again, spotless, the shower gave lovely hot water at a good pressure. The bed was amazing, so comfortable, i slept like a log. Breakfast was a nice cooked buffet with the usual options. All nicely cooked and super fresh. The best value for money Ive spent in ages.

Horrible black and pink mould in the showers. Everybody we spoke to had the same problem. Bathrooms had clean toilet and wash basin- clean other than that but mould needs dealing with.

Room cleanliness ok but could do with a bit more attention to detail. Decor dated. Noisy generator through the night so couldn't have window open. Bar food naff but bar staff and breakfast staff great service. Not so sure about some of the guests.

I've stayed here a few times over the years and it never fails to impress me. The rooms are imaculately clean, the beds are really comfortable, the ensuite bathroom is spacious and very clean. The hotel is located in a beautiful location in the Lickeys, is very quiet and has amazing grounds. There's ample secure parking, and the breakfast is fresh and plentiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I'd rather stay here than any of the nearby hotel chains

We had a lovely stay - we had room 56 which has a huge bedroom with two double beds and an extra lounge room. Comfy and quiet. Nice breakfast too. And a reasonable rate. Will come again.

Breakfast was great, staff were friendly and there was plenty of parking. Unfortunately the bed was very small and we could hear the room next to us; their bathroom fan was going off most of the night and could easily hear it.

Staff were brilliant. Great stopover location and hotel for Birmingham. Rooms are a little dates but super clean. All you need for one night.

The rating I’ve given doesn’t reflect the outstanding staff and the level or service they provided. They were incredibly helpful and couldn’t have done any more. Unfortunately, our stay was let down by factors out of their direct control, but it’s something the hotel itself might want to consider going forward. Our room was perfect for what we needed for one night - we were staying as my partner was having surgery at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital and were leaving around 6.30am. The lovely lady who checked us in offered me a packed lunch for the next day when we mentioned how early we were checking out, which I thought was a lovely touch. However, we were kept awake until the early hours due to the snoring coming from next door, to the point our room was actually shaking. The lad covering the night desk gave us another room when I went down and explained around 1am, and although it was much quieter, it was incredibly hot, so neither of us slept well at all. There was also a lot of doors banging around 5am which disturbed us again. I appreciate you can’t control guests snoring, but it was that loud, it didn’t actually feel like there was any noise barrier at all between the rooms and corridors and I’ve never stayed in a hotel before where this has been the case. One other thing to note is the bathroom light is on a sensor, so I was actually plunged into darkness twice while taking a shower!

I stayed in the family room it was ok but the shower was very very small and shower head very very small the hotel could of done better

The rooms are very small. OK is not spending a lot of time in it. No wifi. Quiet. Food good Staff friendly.

Quiet hotel with easy access to the wonderful Lickey Hills. Lots of free parking. Lovely breakfast included. Room quite basic but adequate- though shower very small.

Breakfast was awesome! Lovely service, full cooked breaky, good coffee, yoghurt and fresh fruit! We didn't sleep well as the room was too hot even with all heating off and windows open. Room didn't seem to have aircon. Large rat seen from the window.

Well priced. Great value. Made very welcome and all staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Nothing wax to much trouble . The room was a great size. Smaller than most hotels but this was a positive. It made it warmer and more and welcoming . Fittings were Tina high standard and the lights and shirt were easy to work !!!!!!! The food was lovely and great value . Having found this venue I will use it regularly

Regulary stay here for busines. It is cheap and cheerful. As a single woman i always feel safe. Staff are brilliant & nothing is too much trouble.

I upgraded to a double bed because I can't sleep well in a single.they had put me in a single so I went back to reception to complain,the absolute patronising girl tried to tell me that a single bed is also a double 😤, surely the clue is in the name then she spots my walking stick and claims that they put me down stairs because of my disability even though I'd never mentioned anything when I booked.she was a disgrace and I will NEVER stay there again

Clean and welcoming - perfect for a business stay. Staff are excellent.

Breakfast time was cut short leaving us without food or drink for out trip. Staff was very cold and unhelpful.

Always a friendly welcome at Hillscourt, staff are always very helpful as well. And you cannot beat the breakfast options :)

Staff were chatty and friendly Lee even sorted out a lovely room for us. Rachel on the bar was very chatty and breakfast was available. Bed was comfty had great quiet nights sleep even seen deer and rabbits in the gardens

There was something under the toilet which i showed reception a videoof it, the room was immediately checked i was then offered an upgraded room from a single to a double and was really impressed how it was dealt with. The food was amazing and the breakfast items top notch. I would definitely re book this again 😁

Lovely hotel with clean rooms and helpful staff. Quiet and nice outdoor view. The only disadvantage is that there are no nearby convenience shops.

Quiet comfortable very clean room and excellent breakfast with coffee and toast brought to the table. Hotel set in lovely grounds with plenty of free car parking. The hotel is in a good position for access to the M5 and a taxi ride away from the city.

A very comfortable stay. The room was cleannand the bed was comfortable. Perfect single room. Enjoyed exploring nearby Lickey Hills Country Park. Would definitely stay again.

This is a lovely properly, amongst the trees with a lovely outdoor space. The food was all great, including the breakfast and all the staff very friendly. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Its is out of the way, so I wouldn't recommend it for people without a car, but if you do have one and you want to get into Birmingham, there is is train station about 7 minutes drive away.

A lovely place to stay on the beautiful Lickey Hills, convenient for Birmingham, NE Worcestershire and M5 and M42 motorways. Spotless, quiet and comfortable, helpful and friendly staff and excellent value. Great breakfast and generous bar meals.

Great hotel, full of character but with modern room furnishings; ideally located a few miles from the M5 at Junction 4 in the south Birmingham area. Five minutes from the M5 in fact but felt like a million miles compared to the likes of Premier Inns and Travelodges. Set in lovely green grounds and countryside. Definitely will stay again. Highly recommend!

Excellent breakfast choices!

Rooms satisfactory as usual. Disappointed with breakfast in the small room this time; only 'standard' coffee available- was this because only a few people had stayed the night before?

We stayed on Monday night. The bar was open and served food off the bar menu. It was very good. I had chicken, ham and leek pie with chips, veg and gravy. The hotel needs to put details of the menus and food options on their website. All I could find before we came was a menu from 2019.

Breakfast very good. Do not try evening meal in "bistro". It was awful. Decor is needing completely updated. Strangest hotel atmosphere I have ever experienced. TBH you would be better to try somewhere else.

We particularly enjoyed the food - both the evening meal and breakfast. We are booked to come back next month, and looking forward to it.

Beautiful hotel with lots of original features. Lovely double aspect room and comfortable bed. The bar food was amazing, tastiest burger and chilli we've ever had and prices were really cheap. Breakfast was amazing and there was lots of choice.
