Rooms are simple and comfortable for the price, with some larger twin rooms. However, several guests reported thin walls, hallway or train noise, and a few found beds hard or fixtures like clocks and fans noisy.

Staff are generally friendly, efficient, and helpful, though check-in and check-out are via machines. Some guests experienced inconsistent or curt interactions, including around parking.

Close to Keihan Biwako-Hamaotsu station with easy access to nearby sights; some find JR Otsu a longer walk. Nighttime dining options and convenience stores are limited in the immediate area.

The free breakfast is often tasty and satisfying, but variety and quality vary by day. The small dining area gets crowded and items like bread can run out.
