Rideau Heights Inn

The room was clean and big enough for our family of 4. We had the king bed and to my surprise the extendable couch was great for the two of us adults to sleep in. The weather outside was -19 and bellow but the room was warm and cozy. For us the hotel was basically next to the basin where our kids had the water polo tournament at Napaean SportsPlex. The big parking space allows us to have the car park easy accessible right in front of our door.

This is a nice motel at a reasonable price but could use a microwave in the room.

Nice and peaceful. I enjoyed sitting under the trees in the provided chairs, I wish more hotels/motels had outdoor common areas like this one.

The room was nice (though the toilet roll holder was broken). Better inside than outside. Exterior needs maintenance. "Breakfast" was minimal. We unfortunately did not realize part of the inn was two storey - two of us with mobility limitations had a real struggle getting to our 2nd floor room which we were told could not be changed.

Basic hotel as advertised. Room was very clean. Duvet cover was torn and there was ground coffee and cups available, but no in-room coffee machine. Shower toiletries were shampoo and soap only (no conditioner) and a non slip tub mat was provided. Continental Breakfast was on a counter in the small front office. Both days breakfast included muffins, cereal, apples (plus bananas one day), yogurt, coffee and tea. Outdoor seating was nice. No indoor seating other than the actual rooms. No elevator to the second floor, although most rooms are ground level. Restaurants, coffee shops etc are not really walkable. Distance isn't too far, but major road out front is not very pedestrian friendly. Front desk staff were flustered when we arrived as the payment machine was down. However, they moved around several (future, not yet checked in) guests to find a ground floor room for an older couple who were unable to carry their luggage up the stairs to the second floor.

The property is clean with a very large area to sit and enjoy the sun. Beds were extremely comfortable. Check-in was quick and easy with friendly staff that actually take the time to speak with you. I wasn't a fan of the shower. Older shower heads

The room was very clean with plenty of plugs for recharging devices. We loved the easy access to our vehicle, excellent water pressure, comfortable bed, the free parking & simple breakfast. Due to poor communication with Expedia, we accidentally overstayed by 1 day, but when we returned to our room that evening, hotel staff were only kind and understanding. I was dubious when we first arrived to check-in as the pot-holes and flickering “office” sign made me wonder if the place was a dive. But we would absolutely stay here again and recommend it with enthusiasm.

Room was very clean. Outside needs some TLC. Morning manager was funny and helpful. Evening manager lady, wasnt too happy. I would return.

Shower and towel and bed sheets were no clean

Classic, no frills motel style accommodation. Spotlessly clean, comfortable for the one night we stayed and the price can’t be beat. Would stay again, no question.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The room was clean. Pillows and mattress were confortable. The room was quiet. The staff ere friendly and very helpful. I would stay at Rideau Heights when I go to Ottawa again.

Excellent place to stay! Comfortable, clean and has one of the best hotel beds I have slept in. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shopping and restaurants close by as well. The room was super clean and smelled hreat when we arrived. It is close to the airport which is why we booked it, and we would stay here again.

The room was very clean. It had a nice park outside that children seemed to enjoy. Not a lot offered for breakfast. Would stay there again.

I recently stayed at Rideau Heights in Ottawa and, unfortunately, my experience was not positive. I did not feel welcome during my stay, and although breakfast was clearly included in my booking, it was not provided to us. I booked with the expectation that the services listed would be honored. And the rooms were not so cleaned.

Overall, totally a fine establishment. Some cosmetic deficiencies in the room, specifically the bathroom with faucets coming away from the wall, things of that nature. But it was a clean, quiet, and comfortable stay. I was travelling with a lot of equipment for work, and being able to park 2 feet from my room door was excellent for moving items to-and-from the car each day. I would stay here again.

Everything was great except wifi. Wifi was low quality (as displayed by both Android and iOS) and wpould disconnect often. Except for receiving an emergency WhatsApp call from overseas we did not really need the wifi. The room telephone was missing in Room 17 but again as we did not need to call, it did not matter.

I had called to let them know I would arriving late We arrived nobody was in lobby. I range bell repeatedly but finally had to call the office before someone arrived. He was not at all apologetic. We were tired it was 12:30. He kept saying no worries. And I kept saying well maybe no.worries for him but the fact we had to wait was a problem for us! He didn't get it. The room we were given had.one bed yet I had requested 2. He then did give is another one. The room was clean and I'm certainly had everything we needed. By then it was 12:45. However the heater was so loud it actually impaired my sleep. So you either have heat or a constant noise. Also not enough warm blankets in bed. A very thin duvet and a.sheet and a very thin bed cover. Breakfast in the morning was fine. However my husband was still sleeping so left.froom to get a.coffee and cereal. There was nowhere to go - only to stand and thus I was told I couldn't stay in that area. Breakfast was offered at a good time 6-10 but by the time my husband went at 9 I think there was only limited choices. No more bananas or yogurt - and no more would be.put out! So it should read what the breakfast is on line but then state while supplies last. Of course it is an economical place - but approx 30 minutes out of central Ottawa -fir some.might be too far. I just think with a bit more attention ( maybe info on the heater about how to turn it off if you don't mind it cold or too hot) and better.customer service.

Reasonable price, comfortable and close to airport, shopping, restaurants. Could do with an update of bathroom facilities and tv.

The room was very cold when we entered. We turned on the heater on the wall but it blew cold air. We tried turning the two dials every which way. We thought we had it as warm air came out but it didn't last. My daughter went to reception to get assistance and was told to do something with the dial, which she did. Again it worked for a few minutes then cold air again. I phoned reception and he came to the room. He then turned the temp knob to a different place than what he told my daughter. Again it worked for a few minutes, then not so much, so we gave up. We went to sleep wearing our socks and my daughter wore her hoodie. It never did warm up very much. Obviously the heater needs to be fixed or replaced. This was room 30. On a positive note, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

Good way to save money. Not walkable to anything, so you must have transportation - most attractions, food, etc. are within 2-10km. Breakfast was cereal, muffin, yogurt, fruit but you have to take it yourself to your room (outside - would suck in the winter). Coffee was surprisingly good! Basic room with TV and mini fridge. Door locks are still old-fashioned keys. I would stay here again to save $40-50/night vs other hotels

Room amenities were good except for the TV reception. First it was hard to turn it on, the remote did not power it up, i had to search to find the power button under the TV to turn it on (after that the remote would now turn it on and off. Second, the screen quality was very poor, full of snow as if there was a very poor antenna connection. Sorry I did not have time to discuss this TV issue with the staff. I was in room 17

Sorry but the bed had a big dip in the Center of it. Was uncomfortable and caused a poor night if sleep and sore back for the days to follow - Room 14.

This is a quaint little motel. The most comfortable hotel bed I've had in 20 years. Desk staff were polite, quick and attentive. Requesting extra towels was a breeze. Very quiet neighbourhood, while still not being too far from whatever you need. The TV in our room (19) had terrible picture quality and should probably be replaced soon. Self-parking couldn't be easier. This will absolutely be my go-to hotel in Ottawa, no question.

Great hard-working staff and good room

Before checking in i asked whether we can store some luggage at the storage for 4 days and agent who answered the phone confirmed its possible. But at desk they didnt want to store luggage for more than a day. This caused us to cancel booking for the rest of the trip and book elsewhere incurring higher fee for accommodation.

Bugs in the room ( i have yhe photo, it was room #7). Rude front desk agent: he said that i am not allowed to stay in the reception/lobby and I should go to my car if i need to make any calls. I addition they didn't accpect to refund me.

we had very bad experience to stay there for 2 nights, they are providing poor services. the hair dryer, clock, TV, coffee machines, shower head never worked. they didn\'t clean room, didn\'t empty garbage bin, didn\'t provide towels and soap. when we asked them to provide these services , office staff yelled on us badly and used abusive language in front of our kids at 1am midnight and disturbed our sleep. we are complaining to "Human Right Relations" for their abusive behaviour with us. we want Expedia to refund our charges as we faced mulitple issues to stay there which ruined our whole trip.

Some staff was sick so they had a challenging day, I waited a long time to check in. But the staff was meaning well and friendly and the room is clean.

Paid in advance via Expedia, charged again at check-in. Attempts to contact them for refund has met excuses, failure to return call. After finally contacting them, they claim I\'ve been refunded but blame the lack of any refund appearing on "North America-wide technical issues" with Chase POS ... yet Chase makes no mention of this. I do not trust the operators of this hotel. 15 days later and still no sign of any refund.

Front desk attendant was on video chat with friends on his phone while attending/ speaking to me. Didn't seem to concerned about obtaining all the basic bedding for see sofa bed ( like comforter, had to remind/ask several times). Friendly but felt like he wasn't present .

Old style motor court close to the airport. Quiet and clean. Good staff. Minimal breakfast with good coffee available.

The grounds were lovely. The room was clean and large. Convenient location for our activities.

A nice place to stay outside of the city (Ottawa) but close enough to drive in to visit attractions. Close to lots of restaurants.

Nice place to stay if you are looking for a spot close to airport. Breakfast at 630 so if you have an early flight it won’t be available. No hot food at breakfast. No shuttle service. Would stay again if an overnight stay is required for connecting flight

Clean, quiet, very accessible to excellent restaurants in the area. A short drive to the sights of downtown but the drive along the canal/river is very scenic.

Stayed here twice now. Good value for the money. Clean and very quiet. Easy access to downtown.

The front desk woman, a university student, was very friendly and helpful with directions. It was nice to see her smiling face each morning as to got our breakfast. The variety of foods for breakfast were appreciated. The front desk area was too small when shared as a breakfast preparation area. It would have been nice to have some tables there. Overall, it was a nice, clean motel that served it purpose at a reasonable price.

We liked that our room was an end unit, it was very quiet even though we were on a flight path. Room was spacious, bed was very comfortable. Only suggestion: would be nice if they provided trays to take your juice, coffee, cereal, muffin and yogurt back to your room. Hard to juggle. They do not have a breakfast area to eat in.

This is a well-kept budget friendly Inn. Good value and great for an overnight stay. the continental breakfast should have been better stocked on Sunday morning but otherwise very happy with the accommodation.
