Hartington is a Great quirky village location, fabulous cheese shop and lovely Church. A walkers paradise

When we arrived there was no hospitality, just your in room 18 its out the door and upstairs in the barn. We ventured into the bar for a drink, had to take my drink back and ask for a clean glass as it was filthy. The area smelt of cooking fat! And also had a dirty floor and tables. To top it all off our final night was spoilt by a loud band playing till one o clock in the morning, and loud patrons shouting and singing till all hours of the morning. The following morning on check still no interaction with guests we were told I will take the keys which the gentleman took from us. No thank you for your custom or or asking us how everything was which we normally get after staying 3 nights. It’s a shame this has gone down hill in the past couple of years because it is in such a lovely area. If booking make sure you check to see if there is a band on. They don’t advertise this on the website only signs in the bar which is too late when you are already there to check in. Definitely won’t be returning,
