Reviews of The New Chichester Hotel describe a quiet, out-of-the-way property with limited reception hours and an often unreliable self-check-in, plus a small parking fee that feels unnecessary given the large on-site car park.

To be fair the room was reasonably clean, however due to the poor decor, it felt like the room was less clean than it probably was. The staff were not there on arrival, and we were unable to book in using the electronic booking in system, and we had to wait for the receptionist to return in order to do so. The receptionst claimed that this was because we only reserved the room an hour ago. However, a gentleman who reserved his room 3 days before had the same issue. We were charged £2.50 for parking. I felt that this was unexceptable as the hotel owned the car park area. Totally unacceptable. The bedding, in my opinion, was a little tired, and grubby.

My room was modern, clean and a good size. The parking was easy and close to the entrance of the hotel. I ate in the restaurant on site ‘Ba’zaan’ and the menu was Indian Cuisine and honestly the best curry’s I have tasted in a while. Well done to the new owners and staff you have turned this hotel around from the previous owners.

Check in was with an ipad and wanted me to pay again. i had to go in and get help. the first room was ok. beds and pillows comfy. but got up to get ready for my brothers funeral to find no hot water for a shower and breakfast was a microwaved sandwich - which we refused. we went elsewhere for breakfast at a local cafe. we went back to the hotel to move rooms - still no hot water. We were told by a young lady that she could do nothing about the hot water. i washed my hair with cold water and went to the funeral. we got back to the second room and was told that the water was fixed. i did get a hot shower that night. i will not be going back to this hotel.

A pleasant stop over facility. The biggest fault is the low water pressure in the shower.

Only a couple of points. 1) The shower/bath could have done with a grab handle to assist getting out. 2) The toilet seat is a bit high. One of us had dangling feet when sat on the seat! Overall our stay was good.
