Nice staff. Room was nice and clean but the shower absolutely useless. Impossible to use with little water pressure. Parking available but tight for a larger vehicle. Good location.

Positives:- - Free parking (first come first served) - Beautiful Room and wonderful sea view from the balcony - Bathroom spotless - Great breakfast selection - Pool (prebooking required) small but good for lengths and jacuzzi very relaxing. - Staff all very welcoming and polite Negatives:- - Breakfast time slot needs to be prebooked - Swimming pool time slot needs to be prebooked - No air con (room gets quite hot in the morning) - No telephone in room to call reception Overall a great time was had at The Royal Lion. A convenient town center location with free parking onsite. We weren't told on booking or arrival that we needed to prebook the swimming pool which meant we couldn't have a swim on our first morning. It was strange that the rooms furthest from reception didn't have a phone but the rooms closest to reception did? Not a major problem, just a little peculiar. Would highly recommend, just make sure you get your pool time prebooked if you want to use it!!

Great couple of night stay with friends. Perfect location with free car parking a definite bonus. Clean and comfortable room and good substantial breakfast. Would definitely book again. Booked slot for pool and jacuzzi which was fantastic.

Great location in the middle of town; with on site parking. Very friendly and efficient staff, who cared about their clientele. Room was to a very good standard. Swimming pool - remember you need to book a time slot in advance. Breakfast - good choice. Overall good value for money - for the time of year - August - would recommend.

Great staff. Comfortable room with terrace and sea view. Characterful bar area. The swimming pool wasn’t available. The rear of the building facing the car park needs attention. This is particularly important as we had to walk pass the area to get to our room. Our second visit…Will visit again.

The only thing going for this hotel is the location. Other than that it is over priced for what they offer. They have a cleanliness issue. Maintenance needs to be addressed as a matter of urgency and the food both evening and breakfast was dire.

Staff excellent, beds really comfortable, breakfast choice brilliant. Location to beach and shopping is excellent One thing that needs improving is deeper cleaning (sister has her own cleaning company), ledges around room, top of TV, mirror and inside wall lights were very very dusty

Under the double bed was a very thick layer of dust. It had obviously not been hoovered for weeks. The tv did not work but a substitute was found.

Friendly receptionist who took us to our room. The room was spotlessly clean with white duvet cover. Bathroom was good with toiletries needed. Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. Will definitely stay again.

Cleanliness was excellent. Housekeeping staff very pleasant and nothing too much trouble. Beautifully laundered white bedding and towels. Good food. Breakfast served in pleasant upstairs dining room. Evening meal served in the bar downstairs. Very well located for shops, promenade and public transport.

Communal areas in the hotel/pub were good & the pool was better than the photos looked but the rooms let it down. They’re tired, need a paint & new carpet. Shower needs a good clean as mouldy. Luckily we didn’t need to spend too much time in the room. Bed was small - barely a double & even my feet stuck out the end - I’m only 5ft 4!

Lovely sea view from balcony. A large comfortable and very clean, well decorated room. Car park a little tight but managed to get a space the whole stay. Only issue was seagulls on the roof. Earplugs sorted that out

A quality Hotel in the heart of the town. Our room and its comfort was excellent. It was clean and well decorated with a spotless walk in shower. The staff were very polite, caring and interested. Big choices for breakfast, that were excellent. The only downside was the wi fi which didnt work away from the main building.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The building is very old with a lot of history. The rooms are clean and comfortable but as it’s a very old building the bedroom floors was very squeaky but this was the only negative I have about my stay here.

Perfect location but if your room is at the front of the building its extremely noisy. Ned is a queen size, no air con just a fan. No power shower, more power using the tap!

Room was small and extremely hot with no AC and No fridge. The double bed was small and felt lopsided. The floorboards were creaking and bending and felt like your foot may break the boards under the carpet. The shower curtain didn't close properly. Room was desperately in need of refurbishment. But the staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Location and parking were excellent, but unfortunately the room was not worth the money.

Lovely Hotel in a great location, helpful and friendly staff . Room number 9 is spacious for 2 adults and a child with a large en-suite bathroom. The hotel room needs an update, definitely double glazing is needed as it’s 1 floor up from the high street, we barely had any sleep due to traffic noise.

We were in the annexe part, and although our room, bathroom and balcony were great, every night hundreds of seagulls landed on our roof, running up and down squawking, I only had 2 hours sleep the first night. I’m told measures are being put in place to solve this problem. I don’t recommend rooms 31-35!

Room was adequate but the sloping floor was uncomfortable. My husband is an artist but was unable to use the desk as it was placed on a narrow plinth and the sloping floor made it impossible to move.

Great stay although we had confirmation of a three bed room. Which we eventually got due to the single room having a leak. What I booked and Hotels confirmed wasn’t the room we were initially offered. You need to clarify exactly what’s booked by your customers and ensure the hotel has the correct details to meet with those expectations.

Over zealous health & safety on food allergy made for a frustrating stay. Sadly this prevented this hotel from being the perfect hotel in a perfect location. Staff were friendly and welcoming and the hotel manager did his best to accommodate within the H&S policy.

Firstly, the staff are amazing here. The food was also very good with an excellent cooked breakfast along with a great selection of pastries etc. The bar area is very welcoming and the hotel in general is a big favourite of mine whenever I visit Lyme Regis. The view from my room was stunning with the sun rising over the Dorset coast in the morning.I highly recommend.

Parking on site. Very helpful reception staff on check in. We’re very late and their restaurant was closed. Gave suggestions on where to go. Recommendations were spot on. Comfortable bed. Great breakfast and good sized restaurant. Customer service was excellent.

What a wonderful stay at the Royal Lion. We only stayed for the one night but we made the most of it by booking a table in the restaurant for dinner which was lovely. Plenty of delicious options to chose from. The hotel has ple tu of parking and conveniently right in the centre of lyme regis so an easy stroll to the beach and around the shops. There is a pool but unfortunately you have to book a time slot and all they had available was during our dinner reservation. If we were able to book in we definitely would have used this. One note to make is that we had a room at the front of the hotel which i love (i love to people watch) but i think there was bin men or a delivery very early in the morning so was very noisy. The hotel 2as clean and the room beautiful. Also want to note how lovely the staff were. Very impressed and would love to stay again.

A beautiful old coaching inn in the historic centre of Lyme Regis. Staff were really friendly, the room comfortable and breakfast excellent. Easy parking and a very short walk to the sea, shops, restaurants and bars. Will definitely stay again.

We found this hotel fairly average which was disappointing as we paid a luxury price. The room and bathroom seemed recently decorated but lacked some features which we were expecting such as bathrobes, a fridge and a safe. Dinners were fine but the breakfast was underwhelming. No hot milk for the coffee, golden shred was the choice for marmalade and once the pastries were gone they were not renewed. Overall not very impressive.

Excellent couple of days, only black mark was breakfast, not very good quality or choice, tea/coffee was cold, tasteless soda bread and why do we keep having to ask for butter, the wife and I had 4 portions of toast on our plates yet 1 portion of butter ! Evening meal was excellent in all respects.

Excellent location, our front room was spotless with a bay window though the traffic was very noisy from early morning. Also a pity that, despite being told about my friend's gluten intolerance, no.attempt was made at breakfast or on the evening menu to accommodate. Only one staff member apologised each of the three mornings A good cafe opposite and the Co-Op saved her,
