Holiday Inn Darlington-A1 Scotch Corner by IHG

Lovely hotel, staff very friendly nothing too much trouble. Nice clean room, bed comfortable. Just a bit noisy from road traffic, otherwise would have been an excellent stay. Food really nice, and reasonable choices for vegetarians.

Perfect location venue. Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast choice. Decor in room was tired; bathroom needs attention.

Room was clean and spacious with cozy bed, had restful sleep. They have a nice bar and restaurant and starbucks cafe which was very convenient.

Breakfast was a shambles nothing or next to nothing left to eat at 8.30 am Saturday morning Hi, I have just came home from staying on Friday 20 February 2026 at the above hotel and found my stay very enjoyable only to get up this morning for breakfast and it was just a shambles. First they could'nt find a table for us then we got a table which was not clean however the girl did come over and clean it and lay it out with cutlery etc. We went to get some orange juice which was empty and we had to ask for it. Then the coffee machine did not work properly and the cooked breakfast was not as it should have been as my husband wanted a fried egg to which he was told they were finished. I then went to get pancakes and once again they were finished however I did ask for them and the girl asked how many I would like and where I was sitting and she would bring them over to me when they were ready. A few minutes went past and the pancakes did appear only to be given to the gentleman sitting at the table beside us, so once again I asked for them and waited to which by this time I was fed up waiting so decided to get a pastry and the same story they were finished also, once again I asked and they brought out some which obviously had just been taken out of the oven as they were raw in the middle and could not be eaten. So the meaning of buffet breakfast I was under the impression that it meant everything on the menu or near enough would be laid out ready to help yourself to not to h
