The Stork Hotel

Hotel was lovely, rooms were very comfortable, service was excellent and would definitely stay again. Great for pet owners too. Our dog was treated really nice.

What a find! A little off our route, and well worth it. Of the five hotels we booked in to on our travels, the Stork was head and shoulders above the others. Could find no fault with staff or facilities. And very dog friendly too!

Fabulous overnight stay at The Stork for our visit to Lancaster Uni. Easy to find and park, really friendly staff and lovely, quality decor/room amenities. Having already eaten before we arrived, we decided on drinks and desserts in the bar in the evening. Our chocolate brownies and caramel sundae were delicious. Breakfast service was again friendly, relaxed and the food very tasty- served in super-quick time too. All-in-all, we would thoroughly recommend. Just a shame we couldn't stay for longer. Thanks to all for making us feel so welcome!

It’s rare that a hotel is significantly better than the online photos- but I was presently surprised staying at The Stork. Hotel rooms including bathrooms were modern and well equipped. Colleagues were friendly. Good value and quality food and drink.

Had a lovely 2 day break here just after Christmas with 2 kids and a dog. The pub is as dog friendly as it says in the other reviews and we received a dog Xmas dinner and toy in our room. Food was good, bar staff were friendly. I dont usually have breakfast but i really looked forward to it here as it was great quality and included in our stay. The only small issue was the noise from the bar on the first night but that's only because our room was directly over the main bar, it wasn't anything over the top but the kids struggled to sleep until the guests left at 11.30pm.

A lovely blend of traditional pub run by modern hotel chain. Very friendly and helpful staff and good pub menu. A generous breakfast menu. The hotel is not staffed over night, so we were given a comprehensive tour and safety brief. The hotel is particularly dog friendly. Dogs are allowed throughout, apart from the restaurant area; there was a doggy welcome pack in our room and they even have a dog bar menu!

Lovely cosy country hotel, tea and coffee in room, great restaurant but menu is missing a cheeseboard,, About 10 min drive from Lancaster centre. Dog friendly in the bar area. Would stay again

Good parking available. Property in excellent condition, decorated to a high standard. Room facilities of a high standard, all working. Comfortable bed. Good choice of food available, friendly staff & excellent cooked or continental breakfast included in tariff. Have stayed on previous occasions & would do so again.

Lovely rural pub with very comfortable room. Very friendly and attentive staff. Dinner was excellent and great value for money. Breakfast was lovely, very fresh. Our only slight minor point was that it was quite dusty on bookshelves and window sills in the pub. Also dusty in certain areas in the bedroom - other than that it was fantastic.

Lovely room, very warm, clean and comfy. Great food at restaurant, fresh and lots of choice. Breakfast included, again tasty and fresh Not near any shops etc so very quiet!

The room was generally clean however they missed coming one day. The continental breakfast dissapointing, limited choice with same old three bananas presented for three days, no croissants. Hot breakfast good. Bar food good.

The hotel has obviously been recently refurbished to a high standard with great attention to detail. The public rooms are welcoming and the customer care is exceptional whilst the bedrooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable. A big thank you to Heather and anyone else involved in finding and returning an item we left by mistake. Would recommend and will return.

Second time staying here - just as good as the first! Staff are all very friendly and helpful - I didn't bring a USB plug and was given one by the bar staff. NOTE: there are no USB sockets in the bedrooms. I had the same room as last visit - Room 7, which is cosy and compact but very comfortable. The shower particularly is fabulous. The bed was very comfortable and a dyson fan is supplied in case it gets hot. The TV in the room is HUGE! There is a Nespresso machine, a selection of teas and coffess and a couple of packs of biscuits. The bar staff kindly provided a jug of iced water on arrival and again at bedtime. Breakfast was superb! I had the Full English - 2 sausages, 2 rashers bacon, 2 fried eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomato & beans plus toast, tea/coffee and fruit juice. Also on offer were yoghurts, cereals and fruit. The choice of breakfast is great - from the full English to Eggs Benedict. I ate in the restaurant - I was sad to see that the menu was not as extensive or as exciting (to me) as the last time I visited. However, I had a very nice chicken burger with skin on fries. The chicken was tender and the BBQ sauce deliscious. The portion was so large that I did not have room for a dessert. The range of beers and ciders is excellent - I had a particularly good Sharps Solar Wave IPA. There is also a very good selection of gins - should that be your thing. The hotel itself is very quiet - even with the window open I had a peaceful sleep. I 100% recommend the Stork.

Kind, polite staff. Food was fairly good. Room was excellent - clean, big. TV didn’t work due to internet connection problem. Overall, a good experience.

All was OK except for a couple of things. 1 Plunger on the basin in the shower room jammed. Had to use a glass to empty the water down the toilet. Seems it may have been like it on a previous occasion and someone had tried to fix it !!! 2 In the middle of the night awoke to a “tapping” sound coming from the shower room which was very annoying. Ended up putting ear plugs in and covering my head with a pillow !!! Reported both to a member of staff the following morning. Told that the “tapping” sound had previously been mentioned and that it was the towel rail !!!

Superb stay. Gorgeous old pub. Rooms were fabulous. We had a family room which was enormous with a lovely comfy bed for us and a sofa bed for the children. Lovely en-suite with the best shower I’ve ever used in a hotel. Dinner and breakfast were great. Breakfast had several options and was cooked to order. Highly recommend.

Really helpful staff, especially when we needed to checkout very early, they were very accommodating with providing us with some breakfast items to allow for us to get something before we left.

Staff brillant cleaness fantastic food lovelyand a beautiful looking hotel in a gret setting well worth the money

We very much liked the quality of this small hotel and bar. The only issue we had was on the evening of our stay they seemed understaffed and one waitress was working really hard to juggle and akin to that, the quality of the cooked food produced was not the best

Excellent accommodation as a stop over travelling south from Scotland. Staff were excellent and super friendly. Lovely to be able to eat at the pub, however the meal wasn’t really value for money.

Absolutely loved every minute of our stay. The rooms were lovely, clean and had Everything you needed incuding tea, coffee, biscuits. Towels were provided and also hand wash and moisturiser. The breakfast was amazing and cooked to order as was the evening meals that we had and again they were delicious. The restaurant and bar staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. This is our fifth time we have visited and it is always so good. Cant wait to go again.
