Honestly a beautiful listed building, staff great, landlord such a nice bloke. Got there and a full bar with disco, which we knew about before we booked. We also planned to make the most of it. Amazing value for the central location. Carpark is a little tight but i was in a van. Breakfast was unbelievable and unbeatable for the selection and our complimentsto the chef and waitress fantastic service. We will definitely be going back.

Very good reception, clean, comfortable. Excellent staff. I only had breakfast, but one of the best I have had! Despite what it says on line there is a small car park at the back of the hotel.

I left after the first night. The flooring cracked with every step (old building) But could hear other residents moving around there rooms. The bedroom window was rattling all night because of wind. (Needs fixing). When turning over in bed I could hear the bed spring pinging. I will add that the new year's eve Disco was enjoyed.

The pub is in the centre of Clitheroe, so very handy for all the amenities nearby. The rooms are above the pub and they are very honest about the level of noise. You should expect. If you book a breakfast, you eat it in the pub, we weren’t shown any menu, so I don’t know if there was any choice other than what we had. Their car park at the back is very tight through an entrance tunnel that was tricky to negotiate. it’s also very small so I don’t think it would hold very many cars. We didn’t really speak to any staff other than on chec in but the room was well prepared and clean and very safe with its own entrance code that we created. We had no problems at all during our stay there. This was only one night. It was a Saturday, so the music is until 1 am which we knew so it was fine.

huge room with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in for a long time, beautiful crisp clean linen and towels, very helpful staff, the only reason I only gave stars for service was that the room had not been stocked with a spare toilet roll, but couldn't fault the staff. The hotel showed it's age, although clean and tastefully decorated, but it is a historic building, so if you want modern flashy decor, this i snot for you, but if you want a clean comfortable room at a sensible price, it was just that. One other caveat, the hotel car park is quite tight to get into, but should be ok unless you have a wider than standard car.

Sat night there is a disco in the pub till 1.30am which makes it difficult to sleep. It can be heard from every room. Bar staff did not leave after shift; talking loudly in the pub until being asked to quieten down. Booked a single room. Bathroom had a leaky tap, brown extractor fan and window could not be opened. The decor was tired and the room could do with an overhaul.

Staff were pleasant and accommodating. Large room, clean and tidy. Good shower. Good atmosphere in the bar area.

Basic standard room, clean and functional. Good central location and solid value for money.

Big spacious ensuite room with wonderful Sash windows and two chairs to sit and watch hustle bustle of the street below. Lovely….... But..... Very dated with big dark furniture. Sash window in need of cleaning/scraping and doesn't lock. Double bed base kept parting so mattress dipped over night. However sheets were immaculate and big fluffy towels. Didn't really like the big bedspread on it. Radiator knob was broken off so blazing hot heat all night. Kept window open which I wasn't comfortable doing but necessary. We were given a fan which helped. Dust under all the chest of drawers etc, easily dealt with by pulling out. I did it and I'm 4`11. Cobwebs all over ceiling No bath mat untill second day which was given to us by a lovely friendly cleaner. But plenty of tea, coffee sugar and milks. All in all its great for a central stay to hit the 8/10 pubs in village and visit the castle. Lots of local shops also. Down side it really needs work doing but a lovely historical building with some interesting facts and some famous people have stayed there. The owner met us as we left and was very apologetic that we weren't moved but if you want a cheap stay in centre choice is yours

Booking in was easy via the bar. The room was very clean and large, with a comfortable bed. The food was very good especially the breakfast. I would recommend a stay if you are visiting the area.

We stayed in the Mrs. Whiplash room last weekend. The stuff in the pub was incredibly friendly but very busy. When we went into the room at first glance, everything looked fine. Very outdated but satisfactory. As I walked into the bathroom, I spotted Black mould around the bath on the tiles, dirt and the showerhead was caked in Black mould. There was also A big damp patch on the wall and ceiling. I didn’t want to bother the owners/staff as they were very busy. So I nipped the local supermarket and got bleach a bottle of disinfectant spray and some cleaning wipes. It took me less than 10 minutes to get the bathroom up to a standard that we felt we could use. But all in all an enjoyable stay

The csrpets looked dusty round the edge and under the radiators. The floors very creaky and uneven. The bed was very uncomfortable and you could feel the springs in the mattress

Extremely surprised to find this hidden gem of a hotel. Cited above an old pub oozing with character and history - nothing is level or plumb as was the original way of building - I bet the walls could tell some stories. Very clean and comfortable, warm and cozy. Prices good for town centre including breakfast which was also excellent.

Really comfy bed, large room and great cooked breakfast

New years eve stay, chose due to central location. Large room, plenty towels and hot shower. Would recommend as breakfast is available, and although we were at another venue for a party, food was served during the day/night.

Stayed at pub for Sweet Baboo gig, ten yard walk from gig back to bedroom ideal. Room a little dated but perfectly adequate.

We stayed gor 1 night & although the room was comfortable it needs to modernised. The bathroom needs decorating & modernising. The breakfast was fresh & very good.

Really friendly and helpful staff. Nice room with everything you need supplied. Mattress was a bit too soft for my liking but otherwise a really great stay.

All of the Staff were well trained in the Hospitality Trade. Terry has created a nice friendly atmosphere, including the local regular customers. The banter crossed over to all. You can tell that the business has come from a dedication to the business.

It's a beautiful building. They only have 2 rooms I think. So, was only me. I had my own bathroom. It's bigger then mine at home. The food is divine!!!! And it's like a 5 min walk from Clitheroe Castle!

Friendly staff was informed of discos held on the Saturday and Sunday until 1am when booking. Pub did not do any food after 3pm on Saturday and Sunday which we didn’t know about so arriving after a 7 hour journey after 5pm was not the best news and of course everywhere we tried was booked!! The room was clean, basic but spacious and had a modern en-suite. Breakfast was £7.50 per person and was freshly cooked. Overall a lovely and good value stay. Thank you

The hotel is an old (19th century) so seems dated. The bed was creaky but the shower was fantastic. Food plentiful and if a good standard.

No breakfast available which we didnt know beforehand. Staff very friendly and helpful
