This was a really great find, 10 mins walk from the racecourse. Room was spotless and we slept well. Lovely beer garden, staff were friendly and helpful, food was delicious. Great value for money, will return.

We booked as had an early flight from Gatwick. Parking was very limited as we came on the night of a very popular pub quiz. Our room was a great size with a good bathroom. It was quite noisy, but that's to be expected above a busy pub, once the pub was closed it was quiet.

The parking was easy. You just register it in the bar when you check in. It was a simple room. Stairs up to the rooms. We stayed here to go to the airport.

We stayed for one night as I had an early morning appointment at the Queen Victoria hospital which was just a 10 minute drive from the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is part of a public house which is huge with loads of outdoor space with seating and a kids well equipped play area. We ordered an evening meal which was delicious and despite it being extremely busy our meals were delivered promptly. Breakfast was an extra cost but worth it if you like a large meal but probably not worth the price if you just wanted cereals and toast, having said that the breakfast menu offered a good selection. The room was very basic but clean and had everything we needed for a short stay, the only gripe we had was that there was no hot water when we got up so due to a tight schedule we had to make do with a couple of sinks of boiling water from the kettle but I’m sure if we had more time it would have been sorted. I would stay here again as it was value for money and offered everything we needed.

Really beaitiful country pub with a fantastic selection of drinks. The menu was varied and our meals were very well cooked. The waiter was great and we enjoyed our time in the pub itself. The room we had was a twin, unfortunately there were no double bed rooms left but thats ok. The beds were comfortable and clean. The room was well decorated, clean and we had tea and coffee facilities. A nice clean bathroom. All round good value. We were offered the chance to book breakfast in the morning but declined and regretted that!

Cheap hotel ok for a one night stay. Staff were friendly and the pub is nice but the room was not cleaned very well (cobwebs, spiders, flies, dust) and the beds squeaked if you moved even a cm. The mattress was old and had no support. At the right price for one night give it a go but I wouldn't recommend it for any longer.

The room was great, decent size, very clean etc, but the fire exit sign lit the whole room all night and there was just constant noise from within the hotel and outside, and for this reason, I would not stay again, even though the room and pub was amazing!

Nice accommodation but alas the bed was too small, I’m 6’4 and with the wooden frame I did not fit also the shower is very small size and does not fit the bigger guy.

We didn't realise it was under the flight path for Gatwick. With out double glazing it was quite noisy. It was a pleasant stay but I expect the windows are drafty in the winter

The room was nice if a little dated. There were adequate charging points. The entrance to the rooms is within the pub itself and exit and entry are via a different door when the pub is closed. The service in the pub wasn’t perfect. I had to go to the bar to ask if I could have my order taken and the food took a long time to be served. The food itself was good though. The hotel is in a very convenient place as I was on a business trip. I have stayed here twice because of this so it can’t be that bad. Overall it’s fine.

We was in room 6 it was a nice big room and was clean the only negative was the room was above the pub entrance so we heard all the people coming & going and in the celling of the room was a bright green emergency exit light that lit up the room all night & the mattress wasn’t very comfortable. The water pressure in the shower wasn’t that great but other than that for a one night pre holiday night stop it was fine

Outside room was quiet as was away from main pub. But the green beam of light over the door (from the fire detection system? ) lit the room up and made it hard to sleep. Also I'd not given consideration to aeroplanes going overhead all night.

Booked the Star Inn as we were going to Lingfield Races. Friendly Staff welcomed us on arrival and helped us find a table in the evening after the Races. Ideal location - 10 minutes walk from the Racecourse. Great, friendly atmosphere in the bar area. Room and bathroom were comfortable. Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again

The staff went out of their way to make our stay most agreeable. Kachia sorted out our arrival request and the rest of the staff were most attentive, helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay at the Star again!

Lovely place; lovely people. My stay was very brief, check in late afternoon and out very early the next morning, but in that short space of time I experienced the great hospitality of the staff. They were willing to go beyond the call of duty and help me get to the airport very early the next morning, including the staff member who woke up at 5.00am to help me get my suitcase down the stairs and waited with me for the taxi, which they had organized the night before, to pick me up. The room was very beautiful. The dinner downstairs in the pub was enjoyable.

The Star Inn is in a lovely location in an up market location. Lingfield has great facilities and is the perfect base for exploring the many attractions of the area. The rooms in the exterior block to the side of the main building are compact but have everything you need. Decor is simple, clean, modern and crisp. Wi-Fi works well and the rooms have tea/coffee, tv, hair dryer etc and comfotable beds. The Inn itself has good food and a great range of drinks including local ales. The breakfast at £10 is great value. You get cerals, juice, toast and preserves, tea/coffee and a full cooked breakfast. We had the vegetarian breakfast and it was superb. Everything perfectly cooked with great quality ingredients. There is so much to explore and see in this area and we would happily return here as a base. Good value accommodation is hard to find in this part of the country and this place is a gem that combines value with quality and great, friendly service. Highly reccommended.

I had a comfy bed. Heating was easily controlled. Very basic accommodation but had good tea/ coffee facilities. Very small shower but adequate. Seemed to be a lovely popular pub in a lovely area and a footpath were you could go for a walk but I wasnt there long enough to enjoy any of these things. There is some frequent noise from planes going to Gatwick but I took my earplugs. I would certainly stay again because I was very happy there and felt safe even though I was a lady on my own in one of the exterior rooms.

The staff were very helpful and attentive. The room was a little dated but it was very clean. The beds were comfortable ant the pillows were good. In the bar, the food was good.

Very clean and comfortable throughout, friendly staff, food excellent, we had Buddha salad bowl, I added chicken and halloumi, my husband added steak and goat cheese, both were delicious, beautifully cooked and presented. We only had one night on our way to Gatwick, but would recommend it just for the food if you’re in the area 👌

A very nice place to stay. This is not a tourist destination but the nearby area is very nice and worth a walk. There is a very nice pub at the hotel and we eat well. The room was very nice and clean.

We stayed for one night as I had an early morning appointment at the Queen Victoria hospital which was just a 10 minute drive from the hotel. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is part of a public house which is huge with loads of outdoor space with seating and a kids well equipped play area. We ordered an evening meal which was delicious and despite it being extremely busy our meals were delivered promptly. Breakfast was an extra cost but worth it if you like a large meal but probably not worth the price if you just wanted cereals and toast, having said that the breakfast menu offered a good selection. The room was very basic but clean and had everything we needed for a short stay, the only gripe we had was that there was no hot water when we got up so due to a tight schedule we had to make do with a couple of sinks of boiling water from the kettle but I’m sure if we had more time it would have been sorted. I would stay here again as it was value for money and offered everything we needed.
