Easy to find and plenty of parking spaces free. Really clean and comfortable room. The Nespresso coffee maker came with instructions and there was a good choice of herbal teas. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The shower was powerful and provided a stable temperature. There was a good selection of toiletries. The evening meal of pork shoulder and vegetables was top quality as was breakfast the following morning. I had a full English but also loved the wide variety of nuts, seeds and dried fruits available.

From check in to check out we had a wonderful stay. All staff from room servicing, meals and front of house were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast and diner were plentiful, tasty and well presented. Parking was good. Even though we didn't want our room serviced, we received a bag of amenities. Excellent service. Our room was comfortable and excellently presented.

Arrived just before 8pm,. no one at reception but made aware a member of staff was on the phone. Left waiting for some time while she chatted to her area manager about work and holidays!! Not a great start! Room ok, cold but clean, coffee machine was a bonus, bathroom small, plastic shower curtain. Sat in the bar, shared some small plates and coffee, pleasant atmosphere. In the morning staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast, cereals and cooked breakfast. No fresh fruit, offered a green banana!!

Very lovely atmosphere nice sunny evening so we could sit out in the courtyard, our room did look over courtyard so it was a bit noisy as it was hot so window was open all night but didn't spoil our stay. All staff were friendly and helpful at all times

Wonderful hotel, looks & feels amazing, staff are very good & professional, breakfast was very good. Well worth a stay, only downfall was the fans need cleaning or definitely updating as they ( two of them ) were dusty or not working so ended up not having a fan & in hot weather & no aircon not the best, but that was the only let down. But i would definitely recommend.

Such a beautiful place with a high level of cleanliness, we couldnt fault it! Loved the little touches of coffee machine & classical music played on arrival into our room. We throughly enjoyed our time at the bell and we're already planning our next visit! Brunch was beautifully presented and the staff we're all fantastic, we've stayed in quite a few hotels and honestly this was one of our favourite. A beautiful, peaceful gem. Thankyou!

The stay here was exceptional- I was stuck here due to the weather but I can think of nowhere better to have been stuck. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The food in the bar was excellent. I can thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay.

This hotel is really lovely . Housekeeping do a great job . . Very clean and tidy . Our room was lovely and extra heating was put on for our arrival . Lots of lovely extras in the room , chocolate , different types of coffee and teas etc. My review would have been 5* apart from a couple of small issues . It was a Longer than usual check in as no one on reception and no note telling you to go to bar which did appeared next day . Breakfast room same issue no one around for about 10 minutes . We Would have liked fresh fruit available or while fruits without having to ask . Apart from this a lovely lovely quiet stay and a really nice public bar too . Centre of old village . Very near A 1 , no noise at all . A great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed .

The hotel grounds were lovely. The “deluxe suite” we’d booked had some worrisome issues. If you’re a guest anywhere near 6’ tall you run the risk of cracking your head (and drawing blood) on the sharp wooden beams like my spouse did. The towel rack in the bathroom (that also had a low wooden ceiling beam) was scalding hot with no shut off lever. Our safety concerns were relayed to the staff and although they said they’d investigate it didn’t seem like much of a surprise. The breakfast though was first class !

The standard of the room and the products (tea, coffee, toiletries etc) exceeded our expectations. My main feedback is that the staff provided very little information on check in, ie breakfast times & location, wifi ect. And then when we needed to check out it took us almost 30 minutes to find a member of staff. Overall we were happy and would stay again

Poor check in and left waiting, went for evening meal no table available, found a table but was told we couldn't use it, complained and asked to see the manager and then as we were a resident we could have the table. Upsetting. My caesar salad lettuce leaves were rotten but hidden at the bottom of the bowl. All very upsetting. Informed staff in the morning our wash hand basin was blocked, was told it would be sorted out. This did not happen. We left our key at reception when we left and was confronted in the outside area had we paid our bill. We said we had and had received a receipt but was asked to step inside so he could check it. We felt like we were a criminal. This was the deputy manager and i Informed him that we had received our receipt from the manager Alisia. Eventually we left very upset indeed. We shall not be using this hotel again

Second time I've stayed here recently and I've got to say I love it here. It's well located with easy access to the A1 etc. The rooms are comfortable, well appointed and are full of nice little touches. Staff are great and the onsite restaurant serves very nice food. Coupled with a good beer selection, what more could you need?

it’s a lovely hotel - very convenient for A1/A14. Room was gorgeous - really comfortable and very high std. Food and breakfast was to a high std. Brekkie is freshly cooked - not the usual buffet style - which is really fantastic! Love the added touch of coffee bags in the room - I can stand messing with coffee pod/machines that I don’t understand how to work them and you get a minuscule serving anyway - a kettle and good quality coffee bag is perfect for me! 😅 I have stayed before and will stay again. The pics are the courtyard and the INCREDIBLE Apple and Raspberry Crumble! X

We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was very helpful. The twin room was small with not enough room to put our suitcases on the stand. The bathroom had everything we needed but again, on a small scale. We had booked dinner but were told on arrival that there would be a limited menu because the kitchen was being refurbished. I had just two courses and my wife, who loves a good dessert, had only a main course which was disappointing. Neither of us slept well and were woken by the alarm going off in the adjoining room at 7.30am. This room had a door into our room which increased the volume due to poor sound proofing..This continued until 8.09 when it was finally turned off. I did try to find someone to help but there was nobody at reception and I had to resort to speaking to a waitress in the restaurant and even then it was another 20+ minutes before it was switched off. Breakfast was good overall but the orange juice left a lot to be desired. Generally the staff were very good, the building was charming and for guests who like historic buildings a real treat. Unfortunately our experience at The Bell Inn Hotel means we would not return or recommend it.
