Good budget accommodation for an overnight stop, our room was a little short on power points for convenient device recharging, could have done with 1 more easily accessible twin outlet point above the credenza. In our room, the tv aerial reception was so bad, constantly pixellating the screen it was unwatchable. As it was only 1 night & we were tired it wasn't too much of a problem but if we were staying longer it would be a concern.

Hot water took 15 minutes to warm (not the 2 minute wait as advised on the sticker by the shower). Wifi was shocking and tv didn’t work. Location really great, close to good walks, supermarket and restaurants/takeouts.

Don’t even consider staying here unless you’re prepared for a flea pit. On arrival, I got directed to my room up through a filthy dirty corridor and with several dodgy looking people standing in hallways. It felt like it might have been used for emergency housing. On arrival in the room, it was dark, dirty, stained and not up to the standard shown on the advertising. Definitely shouldn’t be called a motel. Instead, it’s of lower standard than a hostel. The manager refused to agree to a full refund and said he really didn’t care about receiving a bad review. I urge anyone considering staying here - please don’t! These people do not deserve the business. A disgrace to the NZ tourist board.

I haven't stayed at No 1 for a few years and was pleasantly surpised. Rennovated in light colours and our room was perfectly clean. Linen and pillows good quality. Liked the choice of ceiling fan and or aircon. Excellent water pressure which can be hit or miss in Cambridge. My only dislike is that you cannnot open the windows to allow for a nautural breeze and airing of the room.

Although the exterior looks a little rough and the room was small, the room was spotless, the beds and pillows were super comfie. I expected a lot of traffic noise due to the room facing the Main Street, but it was actually very quiet. I was pleasantly surprised and it was perfect for an affordable and quick one night stay

Couldn't have asked for better accommodation in Cambridge for us. It was super easy to find. Greeted by staff member immediately and upgraded to bigger room on our arrival. The bed was super comfy and the shower was super big. Plenty of hot water, towels and milk. Could do with a couple of wine glasses in the room as there were only cups available - otherwise, would defo stay here again :)

Stay was fine for one night. Felt accomodation was a backpackers not a motel. Didn't know enough about the place when I booked. Very central to everything which was great. Best part of the stay was the best shower we had while being away. Probably wouldn’t stay again but only because of our needs.

A few days before traveling I advised Motel I was carrying an injury & was given great advice on travel option from the airport and availability of an exterior lift at the Motel. Moment I arrived assistance offered & a bucket of ice supplied 🙂

Clean, comfortable rooms. My family and I had adjoining rooms with a shared toilet shower. Kitchen area is shared amongst all guests. Was spacious and comfortable. Plenty of facilities to prepare and cook meals. Great location to be able to walk around town. After our first night, the hallway carpets were being professionally cleaned. Was not an issue to us, but the host apologised for the noise unprompted and gave us a gift of some free snacks which the kids loved! Very friendly place.

For this price this is fine. Okay it could do with updating but our bed was comfy, nice sheets and pillows. It was as clean as you could get an outdated hotel room. The coffee/tea station was nearly empty with no coffee in it which was annoying to find in the morning but I’m sure they would have filled it had we asked. This worked great for us on a single night stay in town. Good for a good price overall.
