The Brunswick

The room was very clean, adequate and certainly befitted our needs. The staff were most helpful, particularly the waiter called Andy whose sense of humour kept us entertained at breakfast. The small pool was a bonus. Unfortunately the jacuzzi was not in use whilst we stayed at the Brunswick Hotel.

A lovely nights stay at the Brunswick. We made use of the bar, games room, pool and garden. We enjoyed a freshly cooked breakfast in the morning

The Brunswick is a delight. 8 of us (family & friends) stayed for three nights & we all look forward to visiting again. The hotel is under new ownership; who are moving the Brunswick a step above the competition, offering a standard of service & food that was so good it made our stay on the Isle a delight. From first arrival to the moment we left, the staff were wonderful, friendly & helpful. They made every minute in the hotel lovely. The rooms were spotlessly clean & were cleaned as we ate breakfast each morning. The restaurant food is exceptional, far better that we can recall having in any hotel: Fine dining at reasonable prices. Our whole group agreed that if we lived in the area we would all visit the hotel just for the restaurant experience. Two of our party, including me, are Coeliac (Gluten intolerant), which makes stays in hotels & visits to restaurants always a bit of a concern. The attentiveness of the hotel management, staff & kitchen staff was second to none. By being exceptional, all of our concerns were removed, & we could simply enjoy our lovely breakfasts & evening meals. The indoor pool is spotless, the rooms were spotless, the bar comfortable & of course also spotless & the overall ambience a delight. Okay, they still need to tidy some of the carpets & some rooms may need an update, but after a few months ownership they have already made the Brunswick a delight to stay in or eat at. I strongly recommend you visit the Brunswick Hotel.

Initial impression on arrival outside, reception and bar area good. Staff friendly. However the stairs and bedroom were very scruffy and in need of a total refurbishment. The curtains were not hung properly so light came in very early, bed sheets did not fit. The outdoor pool was half full of debris. Whilst there the water was topped up but pool not cleaned. The sauna was out of action due to an incident with a child and the jacuzzi had not worked for a year according to receptionist. This was booked as a birthday treat for my husband. The hotel website and your link described a high end restaurant ‘fine dining experience’ which I hoped to book for a birthday meal. However on arrival the only offering was basic bar meals and no food option on the Monday evening so had to go into local town in the rain to find somewhere to eat. The hotel website is very misleading. If I had known all the above I would not have booked. I did suggest to the receptionist that they need to remove the present description of the hotel as it was not helpful. She replied they have a new website but the only ones I found spoke about the complete dining experience.

The breakfast was good, friendly staff. We had twin beds and they were a bit narow. indoor pool good. Small suggestion trays would make it easier at breakfast.

Friendly staff, nice room, loved the pool and the breakfast. Super to be able to eat together downstairs with our dog.

Great stay here, the manger Tomo was great and helpful. Found the pool clean and warm.

A lovely hotel in a superb location overlooking the sea. The staff went over and above on service, especially at Reception when we had a query and also at breakfast. The breakfast was really nice, with a good selection of cooked options and plenty of juice and other options. We made good use of the indoor and outdoor pool and were really lucky with the weather. We look forward to visiting the Brunswick again!

The hotel location is fantastic; breakfast was excellent, and the staff are very friendly. The swimming pool and sauna room are definitely a value-added. The rooms are bit dated, but we spend most of the times outside.

Polite staff. Room was exceptionally clean. Facilities were great. No problems at all! Thank you.

Although the room was clean and tidy, there were a few problems. 1. The Shower ran hot and cold. Did not maintain a steady temperature. Sometimes went cold and then very hot. 2. There were no bedside table lights and the pull chord light on wall above bed head did not work! You had to get out of bed and turn main light out. ( Not good). 3. There were no USB ports or sockets by the bed to use mobile when in bed. ( Not good at all). 4. Breakfast was very good and service excellent . 5. The Duvet cover only just fitted across the bed and pillows were hard. 6. Lounge area and bar were very comfortable and tidy.

Was ok, better more verify of breakfast, room definitely need to be more clean, mainly walls and Carpets

Very attentive staff. Excellent food. Lounge with picture windows overlooking the sea. Our family room was a bit tired and could do with some tlc, but good to have a separate bedroom so we all slept well. Good value for money and we had breakfast included. We enjoyed the pool.

Overall it was a wonderful stay, though we had a couple of "little niggles" which took the edge off of it. On two occasions there was no water supply to our room for short periods of time, (just as we wanted to shower!), and on one day our room was not serviced by the chambermaid, even though I went to the front desk twice to ask, when they seemed to be running very late, and was told that they had finished for the day. Anyway, our room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable, and a good breakfast every day too. Generally happy though.

Rooms are old and need refurbishment and not clean .Room 20 doesn't have a shower, only a bath and a very small bathroom. The mattress definitely needs changing.

Money spent on downstairs , bedrooms and bathrooms need updating paintwork very chipped and the furniture, power points not in the places.showers need to have a shelf and asked for rubber mat did not feel safe keep bending down for the toiletries. Beds uncomfortable and asked for a topper I used a duvet the first night. I had a Seaview room and the view was amazing but the price I paid and the state of the room was definitely not worth the price .

Lovely hotel. Beautiful views. Excellent breakfast. Comfy bed. Powerful shower. Really friendly and accommodating staff. One very minor negative - only 2 plug sockets in room, which accommodated the tv and kettle, so makes it tricky to charge phones, dry/straighten hair etc. But I'd definitely stay again

A pretty hotel with pleasant friendly staff. Fabulous views and great location. Our room was a decent size but roasting hot even with the windows open and the fan on. The single beds were comfortable but felt unsteady and as if they’d fall over with any movement. We both had a poor nights sleep. Breakfast was good and included.

We enjoyed our three night stay at The Brunswick Hotel very much. We had two rooms for five of us. We particularly enjoyed the dining room with its beautiful view of the sea. Breakfast was included and the choices were delicious. In the evening the Billiard Room was a comfortable place to have a drink and review the day. We also thought the Sunday Roast was outstanding. The dining room staff as well as the front desk staff were inviting, helpful, and efficient. The Hotel was a great homebase for our trips to the Osbourne House and Godshill. There were plenty of restaurants to walk to nearby. The path along the water was stunning. We made wonderful memories on the Isle of Wight! *(The rooms could use some updating.)

Great hotel with fabulously friendly, helpful staff. Breakfasts were varied and well cooked and the evening meal we had one night was excellent - the dining room overlooks the sea which was great. Our trip was in early March so somewhat out of season, and places we wanted to visit were closed (especially on Mon/Tues) but staff came up with other ideas of where to go including recommendations for lunch. Room was clean, spacious and warm, if a little tired/dated, but good supplies of tea/coffee etc. Shower was good and hot water plentiful. Swimming pool looked lovely too. Definitely recommend!
