Great room. Easy to park

We did not have much options when booking our stay in Nelson but Villa Hotel was nice. Check in was easy and the receptionist was helpful and kind. The room was very comfortable and looks like it has recently been renovated. The mini kitchen was a great bonus. Just note that the utensils are in a drawer in the table, we did not find them until we were cleaning to leave. Overall we were happy with everything. See you next time.

The property is tidy and the room itself is spacious and clean. Front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Appreciate that they have guest laundry facilities on site.

An older motel that has been nicely upgraded. The owners/staff are very friendly. Pet friendly and easy access to the highway.

It was the most expensive motel we booked- again no closet- just a couple of hangers on the wall. Quiet location

After a four-hour drive, I pulled into the Villa Motel in scenic Nelson, British Columbia just before 8 PM. I wasn’t sure if I was checking in to a motel or stepping into the Twilight Zone—what a fantastic surprise. The glowing red neon sign lit up the night sky like a retro beacon, and parking right at my door was an immediate win. The front desk gentleman greeted me warmly and proudly mentioned the motel’s 1950s-era roots. That explained a lot, but only added to the intrigue. Before heading inside, I explored the grounds. The lower “park” seemed equal parts playground and obstacle course: stub your toe on a rogue stair, sprint through a gauntlet of thistles, then stop just short of the highway—or don’t. For adults, the highlight is a massive pine tree viewed from what I like to call the “Bench Cone Colonoscopy Armageddon,” a dusty seating area with Cold War test-site vibes. Think of it as Nelson’s quirky answer to Disneyland—minus the safety standards and Mickey Mouse. Inside the room, I found not a dim retro den but a brightly lit, spacious setup with two queen beds, an efficient kitchenette, and a nicely updated bathroom. The rain-head shower, new tile, and plentiful towels felt downright luxurious after a long day. The laminate floors and blackout blinds brought a modern touch, while the dresser and stove whispered sweet 1980s/90s nostalgia. It was an eclectic mix, but clean, comfortable, and exactly the kind of charm that makes a roadside motel memorable!

It's a renovated older motel, very clean, no carpets!! Which I love. Bathtub had a chip, but otherwise very nice, clean , and good setup. The beds were very comfortable and firm, which I love too. Relatively thin blanket, if I would not have brought my own blanket I might have been a bit on the cool side. Room was kept at 20 degrees Celsius, warm enough, but not too warm. The checkin was warm and friendly, and the parking lot nice and secure. It was easy to find. We arrived when it was already dark. I bet it has a nice view over the River and bridge at daylight. I am writing this review early in the morning, so still dark. I would definitely stay here again when I would look for a place in Nelson. Again I was very impressed by the cleanliness!! Would definitely recommend this motel when you want to look for a simple basic but comfortable clean place to stay .

Neat location above West Arm of Kootenay Lake; pleasant, clean and well appointed bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette. Very pleasant and informative staff.

The staff were so friendly and accomodating. We had a question about the key drop late at night and it was answered immediately. This motel was exactly what we expected as we always try to travel pretty inexpensively. Beds were clean and comfy, fridge worked. Coffee pot worked. Parking was super easy. The motel is a lil older and the wear shows, but we didnt find it ompacted the comfort at all. Overall, very happy!

Standard Motel Check in Guy was fantastic and very helpful. Room was clean but had a funky old smell. Air conditioner worked great! Shower had a wicked squeal…just turned the shower knob off and on about 5 times and it went away.

Nice clean and quiet motel with friendly staff

We were quite disappointed with our stay here. Much of the furniture and some of the fittings looked surprisingly rough and battered, and the layout of the suite was uncomfortable. The person in the room next to us turned the tv on loudly at 4:15 am or so and we could hear it clearly from our beds until they left around 6:30. Sound travels between the rooms easily, both to the side and from above. The beds were reasonably comfortable though. Overall we would not recommend this place and we won’t be back.

The room was clean and the staff friendly. It is an older motel so the A/C was a little loud. Vanity, shower, toilet lights and the exhaust fan all operated off one switch. Bring a night light or you going to the bathroom in the dark or wakeup your partner. Not ideal.

Business needs some paint, new signage and upgrades in several areas although that didn't reduce the comfort of the rooms.

Friendly check in was very welcoming. Nice sized room. Wish the seating was more comfortable. The single lounge chair felt broken and you sunk in to it. Otherwise it was a good, quiet room for our two night stay.

Nice facility, it is a little noisy from the other rooms but not horrible. When I booked I requested an upper level room and was told I was already booked for the upper level. Great! When I arrived they told me they were full and we were on the lower level. Had they not already told me the opposite I wouldn’t have cared. Really bad internal communication. I booked a month in advance so there really shouldn’t have been any room for that kind of error. Bed was comfy.

The Villa Motel is in fact a very old property but you can see that they have been working on updates. The front desk staff was fantastic, the room was clean and spacious and well appointed for the price point. It is conveniently located, within easy access range of all of Nelson but still a quiet location as it's just in the edge of town. It was agreat value for the money

The staff here were very friendly and accommodating. The motel was clean and quiet. We had a beautiful walk across the bridge into downtown. The walking path along the lake is beautiful. We can't wait to return.

Across the Bridge, nice views quiet, can walk to a nearby beach. Jog across the bridge and you’re at the beach and park. Friendly staff, helpful and accommodating. Reasonably priced in comparison to other motels. Room was very spacious. I really liked the layout.
