a perfect place for a solo traveller. Keep in mind that the building doesnt have lift... so you have to drag your bags threw a small stairs... the reception people were supper friendly. they help you with any kind of information or problem. Best part was the bar and the smoking room, people mostly spend their time in those places... its a great place to meet new people. I was there till 2-3 in the morning everyday. they have activities everyday from 8-9pm with happy hour drinking... very close to the city centre. the bed was comfortable and i was in a 14 bed dorm. Other guests were friendly and didnt make noise when others were sleeping. Toilets and shower room was very clean and if you find them dirty just tell them, they clean it asap. overall a very good place to stay if you are travelling solo or with friends.. supper friendly environment...

Got a good deal on the Pig. It was in a decent location and I was able to get around the city with ease. It was a little grubby, tho. Simply painting the walls would be a big improvement for the place. No elevator and lots of steps. Gotta go downstairs to then go upstairs to get outside. Again, if you can get it for a cheap price and don't have too high of standards, then you'll be fine.

Jättemysigt hostel om man vill träffa likasinnade. Allt var fräscht och fint. Så kul o hänga nere i smoking room och vid receptionen. Enda dåliga var att paret som sov ovanför oss låg lite men med öronproppar klarade vi oss fint.

It was a great experience for the price, I showed up at 00:30 and was a bit worried about not being able to get in, but their reception is 24/7 (this was my first Hostel experience) it’s only about a 40 minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal so if you’re on a budget and need to get your steps in it was great, the all you can eat breakfast for (6CAD) was great fills you up for a great morning. The showers are a bit tough not a lot of room or separation for clothes and you, but overall ok. Towels can be provided but are not always available so be careful with that. The staff were super friendly and even lent me a lock just asked me to return it afterwards so that’s super awesome of them, the storage for single peeps is under the bed and can be locked, if you can’t pull/push the basket far enough life the part of the frame the mattress was on, that tripped me up and is probably not normal but again the staff came up to show me how to lock it and was baffled a bit but ended up helping figure it out! My total for 2 nights with breakfast was about 68$CAD after city tax. Overall a great experience! Don’t be afraid to ask the staff questions!

O hostel é incrível! Super limpo, bem estruturado e organizado. Fiquei 6 dias super confortável! O banheiro limpo e grande, chuveiro quentinho. A area de happy hour e fumantes é muito legal também. O único detalhe é que há bastante escada, mas isso é comum na cidade de amsterdam.

Stayed here for one week. Traveling solo. I stayed in a shared room of 8. Showers are wonderful and clean. Toilets are clean but small - I think that's the norm. Room was clean and beds comfortable. Walking distance to just about everything in town. Great restaurants and I met some cool people also. Loved that once the coffee shops closed I could smoke at the hostel in my PJ's! Book it It's a great value and wonderful location.

A limpeza dos banheiros pode melhorar. Havia um cheiro de esgoto que saía do ralo. Encontramos uma aranha na área do banho e uma funcionaria pisou com os pés em um item de cama que estava limpo (lençol). Alguns funcionários foram atenciosos, em especial Pipa. Super solicita e simpatica. Bom lugar para conhecer novas pessoas e boa localização.

It was fine. As far as hostels go, I would go here again. The only downside is that the common area is usually noisy and full of people drinking. So if you’re looking for a hostel that is quieter for you to read or work, this probably isn’t a great option.

I stayed in the female dorm which had its own bathroom, so was very safe and secure. The bunk bed was comfortable and had a lockable drawer for keeping valuables, (was a little squeaky for leaving early in the mornings though). There are a few stairs to get in and up to rooms, so good if you are carrying light luggage or if you dont mind there are no lifts.

Great location to explore the city from!! Easy to jump on a train or bus to Centraal Station area. The staff were super friendly. I had a minor issue and they resolved it quickly without hesitation. Also, the free coffee is nice! There are tons of showers and bathrooms available, which is nice. I truly enjoyed my stay here!!

This was a wonderful location next to Vondel Park. There were loads of restaurants and great shopping opportunities. Everything was very walkable. The staff at the Flying Pig Uptown were incredibly nice and helpful.

Despite my horrible experience with the staff here, the property itself was great. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. Perfect location across from the park. Now staff? The women here were terrible, they had the worst attitudes, very young minded. One of the house keepers went through my CLOSED belongings because she suspected I had food in my bag. When I confronted the front desk it was as though they were justifying her actions of violating my privacy. No one would own up to the fact that this was wrong no matter the reasoning behind it, staff should not be searching through my personal belongings especially if it is CLOSED. I checked out that same day because I felt the managers were only protecting their own & my privacy didn’t matter. This is why I feel that with the entire staff being young, they were making up their own rules and doing things as they pleased. I didn’t feel like they had a higher up to keep them in line, I would never stay here again. They did fortunately refund me for the nights I hadn’t stayed because of course I checked out that day.

Es un Hostel con todas las letras. No es accesible, las escaleras son bien empinadas al estar en una típica casa de Amsterdam. La primera noche tuvimos problemas con la cama ya que el colchón era muy malo y no tuvieron problema en cambiarnos apenas le dijimos. La cama doble en la descripción decía Queen size pero era de plaza y media (1,30) El desayuno bien, variado, tienen lockers para dejar tu equipaje.

Petit dej à 5€ bien satisfaisant avec de bonnes propositions : café, thé, jus de fruits, fruits, céréales, fromage, œufs, pain, beurre, confiture, nutella... État des sanitaires assez peu propre dû aux autres occupants de la chambre. Manque de chance, car les autres occupants n'ont pas respectés les règles de civilité, à savoir allumage des lumières et bruit à 4 heures du matin. Bruits de la rue et des couloirs assez importants, prévoir les boules quies.

This was my first time staying at a hostel and the staff was very polite. The area was very quiet and the everything was walkable. I met people from Australia, Canada and Sweden. I had the pizza which was good. The only issue was because of the amount of guests toilet paper always ran out and the only option was to go to another floor.

Loved it! Women's only room for those new to hostels or not comfortable with co-ed rooms. Have continental breakfast and activities, as well as a galley kitchen for minor cooking and storage for left-overs. Right next to Vondel Park with Van Gogh Museum and Hard Rock Cafe nearby.
