We stayed at Douglas House the last weekend of June and while hot.. we are from Florida so we were prepared.. it was gorgeous this time of year! The hotels central location is a dream. Any thing you can think of to eat or drink is a short walk away. We even rented a golf cart and barely used it. We rented #14 a standalone one bedroom. It was huge! Plenty of space for everything you brought and then some. The shower is gorgeous and very big. The bed was comfy and plenty of pillows were provided. The room was kept tidy daily if asked for and new towels added. There is a kitchenette with a small fridge that I didn’t think we would use but ended up appreciating. A CLEAN ice machine always full right in the courtyard. Coffee is always on and hot no matter the time of day. Love that. A very clean swimming pool surrounded by lots of shade throughout the day. The staff at this hotel could not have been nicer or more helpful. Just about always someone in the office ready to answer questions or give great local recommendations. The location is far enough down Duval to be quiet but still so close to everything important. We would stay here again for sure!

Located in the heart of the walkable Duval Street we loved the location. And the tiny little pool is a gem in their back garden… a great place for a pleasant dip after walking/biking all day. The Rum Bar across the street was a bonus too!

Firstly, the staff was impressive, very caring, accomodating and genuinely concerned about our satisfaction. The grounds are pretty and the pool is so relaxing with wonderful soft music playing in the background. They offer complimentary tea and coffee poolside which was nice but not Starbucks quality (if you are particular). We stayed in the Cuban room and it was awesome having a bona fide 2 level condo and full kitchen. However, I have to rate the overall stay as 'good' due to the cockroach issue. I am very realistic in that this is an island and cockroaches are abundant but it was distrubing to see so many especially when we turned the light on at night. The staff promptly addressed and had maintenance spray which helped a little. For that reason, I really commend the staff as they didnt 'make excuses' but offered a solution. I would recommend the Douglas House as it was super convenient to all shops/restaurants and included free parking.

Wonderful little compound. Loved our bungalow. Cute pool area, great ice machine, AC was nice and cold. Excellent location! We got a text late morning that our room would be ready whenever we arrived, which was an unexpected and very welcomed surprise. Will definitely stay again!

Douglas House is in a great location, I stayed across street from main building and the room was very clean and well appointed. Comfortable bed. Room was on 2nd floor, which I knew and hotel confirmed with me as there are no elevators- it was 2 flights (almost 20 steps up) with luggage but worth it for the room and common balcony. Pool area was lovely with lush foliage and sitting areas, nice little pool and complimentary coffee. I would definitely stay here again.

This property is super nice. Great area. The outdoor area of this hotel is so nice and updated. Although the room furniture is outdated, super outdated. I get it though. Also bad side is there is roaches. I only saw baby roaches. But it is Florida so what do you expect. Apart from that it is beautiful

Our stay was good, not great. We stayed in room 1 which was in the main level and we could hear the people above us walking in the room. It was very loud and the guests were smokers and going in and out on the porch so many times a day it was crazy. Also on two separate occasions I got decaf coffee from the pool area and my cup was full of coffee grounds. Very disappointing because the coffee was good.

This place is a hidden gem! It's on a side street right next to Duval St, but it's so quiet and serene, it feels a world away from the commotion. We were upgraded to a king suite, and the second floor space felt like we were in the treetops. The room was appointed with lovely, eclectic furnishings and a very comfortable bed. I can't wait to stay here again!

Beautiful, peaceful place in a quiet location and close to everything. I was given a free upgrade to a nicer/bigger room at check-in. Patio overlooked the garden and pool. It was an ideal place to stay for me! Would definitely stay here again.

Everything was great. My only (minor) issue was that the mattress (unit 4) was VERY uncomfortable. And the AC didn’t stay very cool overnight. Not a big deal. Overall the property was very nice. I enjoyed my visit.

A quiet place on Duvall. Not a place for groups or parties that are loud but an awesome quiet place with excellent service. Service was excellent. Only reason for the lower comfort review was the mattress and pillows in our room. There are a lot of different rooms that look like they probably had better mattresses but room 6 really needs an upgrade. Other than that 100% aweaome place to stay. Will definitely stay again in the future.

I’m sitting here right now on my terrace and am almost lost for words. 57 countries, countless hotels from 2* to 6* and this is definitely in the top five I’ve ever stayed at. The serenity, the calm, the beauty, it’s fantastic beyond words. Wonderful Maria checked me in and I was lucky enough to get a room far superior to what I’d expercted - or ordered - for which I’m most grateful. It’s huge, it’s stylish, it smells amazing, it’s clean beyond perfection and is just a wonderful space. I didn’t know what to expect as I’ve only been here once before and just for a day trip, but I’m more than delighted to be staying at this little piece of paradise. Just WOW!

This is a small hotel right in the center of Key West on a quiet street 1/2 block off of Duval Street, where all the action is. We had the whole 2d floor with private porch overlooking the street. Apartment has a large living room with full kitchen on one side, lovely views East, one bedroom with two beds & good sized bath. Exterior stairs only access. There are various sitting & lounging areas at rear of building with small pool & lovely tropical plantings. Duval Street is Key West’s commercial “Main Street”, which crosses North-South downtown. No need for car rental. Plenty to see: South Beach, small but welcoming, Hemingway House, excellent museum, Lighthouse Museum, Mallory Square sunset gathering nightly, live music, plays at the Waterfront Theater, delicious & varied menus & drinks plus fabulous weather in February - 70-74 degrees daily & sunny. Excellent quiet location and accommodating people at desk. We highly recommend the Douglas House!

The only complaint I had was that the coffee every morning down by the pool tasted AWFUL. It was to weak. I had to go out to get a decent cup of coffee every morning.

I really liked the room, our balcony, and the center grounds area around the small but nice pool. Coffee in room was horrible, not the correct supplies for coffee pot. Coffee that was by the pool was like drinking dish water.
