We only booked this hotel because it was advertised as having ‘parking available’ but it was general street parking - there was no designated parking which is obviously what we expected. There was no bedside cabinet on one side - so no lamp, and no way to turn out the light except to get out of bed. The table lamp we did have was very cheap looking and flickered. There was no mirror in the room - only in the bathroom and that misted up after our bath. The Jacuzzi bath was good, if a little noisy. Water pressure wasn’t great. Our room faced the road so lots of traffic noise for most of the night. Host was welcoming and polite.

Helpful when I asked to change rooms from the noisey street-side room, still very warm on top floor. Disappointed in scratchy towels, telly with a line down it, was expecting much better for the price. Owner very friendly and chatty

We expected a lot more for the price...a few tins of paint would be a start,our bathroom as nice as it was smelled damp and mouldy Generally the inside of the hotel could do with some tlc Looked lovely from the outside but the inside is terrible....Premier Inn next time

We had just the one night at the Silk House - and what a great night it was. Nick the owner was the most convivial of hosts and we had a great night in the bar singing, dancing and generally making merry. The room itself was quirky and comfortable although a little too warm. (Couldn't really open the window as it was on a main road). But otherwise a great stay! Thank you Nick!

The family room was excellent, it had a separate area for the children to sleep so we were able to relax in the evening. The lady who greated us was so lovely, warm and helpful.

Nick was extremely helpful and made sure that everything was just right for us to enjoy our weekend stop-over in Leek. The Silk House is very well situated for all that Leek has to offer in terms of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. A perfect weekend and we will definitely stay again when we’re next in the area.

Stayed there for valentines, Nick upgraded us to a better room as we were a couple which was lovely. I had a tyre blowout the next morning and he couldn’t do enough to help. Sourced me another tyre and got us going again. What a gent - would recommend to anyone and everyone.

We had just the one night at the Silk House - and what a great night it was. Nick the owner was the most convivial of hosts and we had a great night in the bar singing, dancing and generally making merry. The room itself was quirky and comfortable although a little too warm.
