The Cottage is located at the end of a single track lane in the middle of picturesque farmland with gorgeous views of hillside in all directions. The house is centuries old, but extremely well maintained. Walking through the gardens was a treat for the senses. Breakfast was delicious and filling.

We only had one night at April Cottage but wished we could have had more. The rooms are clean, tidy and supplied with tea, coffee, biscuits and a kettle. You also get the use of a kitchen and living room in this lovely house. In the morning you are served a delicious freshly cooked breakfast in the dining room. The owner is an enthusiastic amateur historian and the evidence is everywhere as you enjoy your breakfast. The surrounding country side provides lovely views and walks and is a short distance from the charming town of Bradford on Avon where there are lots of opportunities for lunch, dinner, cream teas and trinket shopping

An absolutely lovely old building and I loved the books collection in the lounge and our room. It was warm and cosy and the conservatory is a lovely place to sit and relax. Also the lounge a lovely place to sit with a cup of tea and watch a bit of TV. It's in a quiet peaceful location and the host made us welcome and cooked us a lovely breakfast. Al in all a wonderful stay and when we can save some money, we will be back !

Lovely 16th century cottage that we had to ourselves as no host on site and no other guests. Surrounded by fields so lovely views, but access a little tricky down a single track road. Accommodation was very comfortable with everything we needed and loads of character. Very comfortable bed and large en suite. Delicious breakfast cooked by lovely Pat. Overall, extremely good value for money. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway.

This property is out in the country. The roads leading to it are only one lane, making it impossible for two cars to pass each other. Very stressful driving. The rooms are located upstairs, therefore you have to climb the stairs with your suitcases. The room we stayed in had no shower, just a tub with hand type shower head with no walls or glass to contain the water. The bed was not comfortable at all. You are actually staying in a "house" that has 2 rentable bedrooms upstairs. The hostess will show up in the morning to cook your breakfast. Parking is adequate. Overall cleanliness of the property was very poor. You would do better by spending a little more and going to a hotel. B&B's, especially old properties should be approached with caution. If we ever travel this way again, we will stay in hotels which are geared to modern day travelers.

This was a short break for 3 people and this was an excellent base for visiting Bath/Bristol and Swindon. The room were very good and the communal living room was a welcome bonus to relax in at the end of a busy day. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection of items to cheese from. I would recommend this as a base for day trips in the area.

Lovely old building which has been furnished accordingly with modern touches. Host was lovely and was happy to give us some local information. Our room was very comfortable and we slept well. We were happy with our stay. The place itself is a bit out of the way in the countryside, and we almost drove past it as there were a lot of overgrown weeds and grass around the entry point. Parking is available at the front of the stilling.

Our host was really pleasant. The bed was comfortable and there was a great power shower with plenty of hot water. It may have been a bit cleaner but it is a quirky old cottage. Breakfast was great.

We stayed for one night after seeing the summer solstice at the henge, Steve the boss was very friendly the cottage is situated in a very quiet area described by Steve as the middle of nowhere. Our room was equipped with all we needed and clean, full English breakfast in the morning was very good, all in all a very nice place to stay.

The property itself was very pretty and for the price we paid it was worth it. However, I found the place very unclean, the limescale on the kettles was very unpleasant and off putting. The shower needed an update and a good clean, it sprayed in every direction other than at you. We pulled on one of the curtains to close them and found several spiders that had clearly been there a while. I appreciate it’s an old building so the odd spider I would have let go but it should be a lot cleaner than it was. The bed was comfortable and the house itself was very warm for the time of year, both me and the person I was with slept well. Plenty of towels were provided and lots of books if you wanted to read. In cases of arriving in the dark I do think they should have written instructions on how to get there as it felt really dangerous driving down single track lanes not knowing at all where we were. As there’s a specific safe way to get there that is not made clear.

We went to April cottages for my birthday weekend and it was a home from home with the wood burner making it nice and snug on our arrival, a clean and comfortable room and breakfast kept us going until we were ready for lunch. We would definitely recommend April cottage B&B if you are planning a trip to the Bradford On Avon area. Eating out recommendations: The Thai Barn restaurant Bradford on Avon. The New Inn Lower Westwood where we had an excellent Sunday lunch, other options on the menu also look appetising and the Otter beer was yummy, book prior your visit if you fancy a Sunday lunch.

The room was cosy, the bed was comfy and the shower was amazing. It was also nice and quiet as we were in the middle of nowhere! However, we did have lots of cobwebs in our room and a rather large spider for company. I wasn’t that impressed with the breakfast as no alternatives were offered but my boy did like it. Didn’t find the hosts particularly friendly! My car also got boxed in so struggled getting my car out!

This property was a very old beautiful stone cottage with gorgeous gardens. So charming. The proprietor was very kind and helpful. He cooked us a nice English breakfast in the morning. Unfortunately I think the property may be a little too much for him to handle as our sleeping room and bathroom were not very clean. There were cobwebs with spiders around the sink and in the overhead beams. I killed a small significant size bug when I got up in the night. There is no tv in the room and no shower-just a tub with a sprayer. It was fun looking at all the antiques but I wish everything didn’t seem so dusty.

It’s a 400 years old cottage, very well maintained. The house takes you to a trip of memories of the old ages. It’s possible to watch the sunrise through the bedroom window, the breakfast was incredible good and the host is a very nice man with a great sense of humor. It’s a bit noise in early morning due to the thin floors so we can hear everything from the room on the top floor but overall was a great experience. Thanks Steve!

My wife and I spent two nights at the cottage and were very happy we chose this property. The owner greeted us upon arrival with a warm welcome before showing us to our room, which was neatly laid out. We were given the freedom of the house. After spending time in Bradford upon Avon and Bath, we enjoyed a late night drink in front of the fire both nights to unwind. Breakfast was freshly made to order, or there was a wide choice of cereals and yogurts. The only niggle was the ongoing and regular sound from the bathroom that could be heard every minute or so for a few seconds. Sounds like a boiler or immersion heater activating before cutting out. This made it tricky to sleep on first night but no problem on the second. I would highly recommend this property and we'll definitely go back if we want to stay in the area again.

Excellent value in a comfortable, character-full cottage with a spacious bedroom, separate bathroom set in a remote location midst beautiful surroundings. A full English breakfast is included, together with cereal, juice, toast, tea/coffee as required. No evening meal is provided but pubs are a short drive away.

Based on the photos and past reviews we had high expectations for this stay in Bradford -on Avon, but the experience went above and beyond what we imagined. The beautiful, historic and marvelous surroundings along with a home that had everything a guest could want- comfortable bed, hot strong shower and the most quiet we have experienced in years- maybe decades. And the town of Bradford-on- Avon is, in our opinion. better than Bath - just as historic without the tourism.
Based on the photos and past reviews we had high expectations for this stay in Bradford -on Avon, but the experience went above and beyond what we imagined. The beautiful, historic and marvelous surroundings along with a home that had everything a guest could want- comfortable bed, hot strong shower and the most quiet we have experienced in years- maybe decades. This is a beautiful cottage, set in gorgeous countryside. Steve was an excellent host. The room was large and comfortable, the bathroom was also spacious and the water was very hot. The included breakfast was excellent, cooked breakfast made to order, all ingredients were very tasty and fresh from the local farm shop.

April Cottage was a perfect place to stay for a romantic night away. The cottage is gorgeous and cosy, in a beautiful location. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was delicious. We ventured into nearby Bradford on Avon for the evening. The local taxi firm is cheaper and better than Uber. Had a great evening at Timbrell’s Yard, then dinner at The Bunch of Grapes. We will definitely be returning.

A beautiful, charming place away from the hustle and bustle, a home away from home. The room was impeccable, the bed was comfy and the shower worked perfectly. Steve and Pat served a yummy breakfast and my request to accommodate my 5 year old was provided for. Plus point that we got to say hello to Steve's two horses that are now happily retired. I'd absolutely recommend this place for anyone that loves the quiet countryside.

The room was cosy, the bed was comfy and the shower was amazing. It was also nice and quiet as we were in the middle of nowhere! However, we did have lots of cobwebs in our room and a rather large spider for company. I wasn’t that impressed with the breakfast as no alternatives were offered but my boy did like it. Didn’t find the hosts particularly friendly! My car also got boxed in so struggled getting my car out!

The Cottage is located at the end of a single track lane in the middle of picturesque farmland with gorgeous views of hillside in all directions. The house is centuries old, but extremely well maintained. Walking through the gardens was a treat for the senses. Breakfast was delicious and filling.

Based on the photos and past reviews we had high expectations for this stay in Bradford -on Avon, but the experience went above and beyond what we imagined. The beautiful, historic and marvelous surroundings along with a home that had everything a guest could want- comfortable bed, hot strong shower and the most quiet we have experienced in years- maybe decades. And the town of Bradford-on- Avon is, in our opinion. better than Bath - just as historic without the tourism.

This is a rural English residence. It is located a few miles outside Bradford on Avon. We enjoyed the english garden and the surrounding fields. Our host was most gracious. We enjoyed a delicious fresh breakfast. The taxi ride from the train was about 10 mins. Also good service.

Lovely 16th century cottage that we had to ourselves as no host on site and no other guests. Surrounded by fields so lovely views, but access a little tricky down a single track road. Accommodation was very comfortable with everything we needed and loads of character. Very comfortable bed and large en suite. Delicious breakfast cooked by lovely Pat. Overall, extremely good value for money. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway.

This property is out in the country. The roads leading to it are only one lane, making it impossible for two cars to pass each other. Very stressful driving. The rooms are located upstairs, therefore you have to climb the stairs with your suitcases. The room we stayed in had no shower, just a tub with hand type shower head with no walls or glass to contain the water. The bed was not comfortable at all. You are actually staying in a "house" that has 2 rentable bedrooms upstairs. The hostess will show up in the morning to cook your breakfast. Parking is adequate. Overall cleanliness of the property was very poor. You would do better by spending a little more and going to a hotel. B&B's, especially old properties should be approached with caution. We were happy with our stay. The place itself is a bit out of the way in the countryside, and we almost drove past it as there were a lot of overgrown weeds and grass around the entry point. Parking is available at the front of the stilling.

My wife and I spent two nights at the cottage and were very happy we chose this property. The owner greeted us upon arrival with a warm welcome before showing us to our room, which was neatly laid out. We were given the freedom of the house. After spending time in Bradford upon Avon and Bath, we enjoyed a late night drink in front of the fire both nights to unwind. Breakfast was freshly made to order, or there was a wide choice of cereals and yogurts. The only niggle was the ongoing and regular sound from the bathroom that could be heard every minute or so for a few seconds. Sounds like a boiler or immersion heater activating before cutting out. This made it tricky to sleep on first night but no problem on the second. I would highly recommend this property and we'll definitely go back if we want to stay in the area again.

A picture postcard traditional B&B, set in the most beautiful of landscapes. My wife and I have visited April Cottage on 3 occasions and can't wait to visit again. In true traditional B&B style, a delicous full English breakfast is served, which just adds to a remarkable experience.
