Stayed 1 night

At some point, this was a lovely little room. Someone tried hard to make it decent, then watched it become dilapidated. Everyone’s given up on room 3. Good stuff first- inexpensive, check-in info was lucid, nearly silent, loads of parking with no Krypton Factor obstacles for the case. Several problems but I’m only deducting stars for one; it’s filthy. Not just some stuck up cow putting down her Mail on Sunday to drag fingers on a picture frame to tut at dust only detectable with latest forensic techniques. Oh no. This room looks decorated with cobwebs for Halloween. It rivals Bristol Zoo. The painting over the bed is matted in webs. I’ve stayed in some holes before, but this is the worst. We’re talking months worth. Massive webs zig zagging on the ceiling like a post-apocalyptic version of 80s Christmas foil garlands. They better clean it soon before it’s declared a UNESCO heritage site or reclaimed by nature. Can’t just blame the arachnids as shower is absolutely rancid with black mould. All white grout goes black if not cleaned properly. A spray of £1 Astonish mould + mildew would have prevented this. Maybe they only clean it with the light off as some sort of personal challenge? It’s a shame. This is nearly a nice room, however the operators are self-sabotaging. I imagine they’re unwilling or unable to see dirt. Perhaps it’s a training programme for the Britannia Hotel Group? If you know, you know.

Easy check-in (lock box), great communication from the vendors. Convenient location with the free car park and pub next door. I went to the pub for a pint and it was lovely, the bartender was very hospitable, and it was lovely cozy environment Check-out just as easy as check-in, popping key back in lock box
