King Hotel Tenterden

I stayed at the King Hotel for a couple of nights while my wife was at Benenden hospital for an operation. The hotel room was very clean and well appointed. Plenty of towels, shower gel, coffee & tea and biscuits for a two night stay. Really good shower in the en suite. Parking right by the room ( chalet type). Free wi fi as well. The Indian Restaurant ''The Raja of Kent'' is next door to the hotel and I went there for a meal on the first night. The staff are really friendly and helpful, and the food is excellent.

Hotel is convenient for overnight stay rather than longer term booking. The room and double bed were clean but rather small. The car parking space to the front of the hotel was spacious. The outside to the rear of the hotel needs to be tidied up despite no guest access.

Staff were very helpful at all times. Accommodation was ground floor, clean and tidy. Parking was excellent,also.

The hotel was very clean and well maintained. Beds were comfortable and the room we had was quite spacious. The Indian restaurant attached to the hotel was excellent, with a great choice of the usual Indian dishes as well as some not found in most Indian restaurants in England. The staff were all very friendly and professional. All-in-all, we had a very good few nights stay.

We stayed overnight because my wife was being admitted to a nearby hospital at 7.00am the following morning. As part of the hospital requirements she was to shower with the shower gel that the hospital provided. We were preparing for an early night when we found that there was no water supply. It took a while to get the water supply back on and when the staff left the wet bath mat used to mop the floor was left on the floor. The following morning we were up at 5.00 am to prepare for the day. My wife was required to shower again before admission but there was no hot water. We had to shower in cold water. The hot water supply was came on after 5.30 am, We left at 6.30 am am and there was no one available on reception to speak to about the shortcomings. I returned alone at about 9.00 pm there was no one on reception. On going into my room I found the room had not been serviced. There had been someone in because the tea and milk supplies had been replenished but the bed was unmade and the wet bathmat left on the floor after the water supply had been turned was still in the shower where I'd left it at 6.00 am. The towels were probably clean but weren't a good colour. When I left at 9.00 am to collect my wife from the hospital there was no one on reception so I couldn't make a complaint to any of the staff. We regularly stay in hotels, budget hotels including Premier Inns, I've never before left an adverse review. This was the worst hotel I've stayed in.

This hotel is a gem! Friendly, helpful staff who really care about yoyr opinion. Room was lovely. Spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Real bonus was the award winning Raja of Kent restaurant on the same site. Excellent food and run by the same lovely family.

Stayed for two nights. So very basic. Had to ask for clean mugs as nobody came to check up on room. Got the same mugs but just rinsed off. No breakfast offered because of Eid. The guys working there were actually nice though and the restaurant had delicious food.

Lovely staying a neat and clean hotel. The food in the Indian was amazing and the staff were all helpful.

Excellent stay with well run and very clean rooms and public areas. Dinner was taken in the Indian restaurant that forms part of the hotel and it too was excellent.

All round good service, clean and tidy will use this hotel again

Excellent service so friendly. It’s quite possibly the cleanest place I’ve ever stayed in and I stay in a lot of hotels. Bonus it has an Indian restaurant. The food was sublime service outstanding. Highly recommend

I don't like curry so couldn't comment on the evening meal. No sausage or bacon at breakfast so I passed on that as well so can't comment on the food. Room was ok but very small

Very quiet hotel with small rooms but clean and modern decoration. Bathroom was nicely done with reasonable shower. Hotel is attached to an Indian restaurant which serves decent food. Would use again.

Nice hotel, the radiators and towel rail were set to be on full blast which was unnecessary and the towel rail couldn’t be turned off. The staff were a bit rude at times.

Small room but clean. Shower good and clean. Would recommend for night stop

This is a lovely little hotel , very cozy we didn't need anything, warm and also aircon in the rooms. Only thing was shower was extremely hot , whether they can make sure the cold setting is on first, it took a few minutes to figure , but better cold than hot first in my opinion, we have already a booking to go back , looking forward to new year here .

The staff and the food were very good and the hotel was very clean The downside was the bed and pillows which were very hard. They did change the pillows which was helpful.

Our stay was lovely, they could not do enough for us at the hotel. The restaurant next door a bonus food and service very good.

We wanted a clean and comfortable room to stay at whilst visiting the area. This hotel provided us with everything we need - comfy bed, hot shower, quiet area and a really popular restaurant attached.

Lovely hotel, staff very helpful & friendly. Tan & the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Breakfast was lovely, the room clean & tidy. Also the Raj Indian restaurant attached to the hotel is fabulous. Definitely stay again.
