Sutterängbyggnad som ligger högt upp i Chania med fantastisk utsikt över hela chaniabukten. Jättestor pool tillräckligt djup för dyk från kant. Bästa hotellfrukosten vi någonsin haft utomlands. Helt i klass med topphotell i Sveriges. Sköna sängkläder.

This is an amazing hotel. Set on a hill high above Chania. You will not get a better view, and never get fed up of looking at it. Access to town is simple and provided by a regular shuttle. The staff on reception, in the dining area, on the shuttle bus are amazing. Nothing is too much for them. The pool area is great, again, views to die for. Quiet, and relaxing. Cannot recommend it enough.

This hotel is amazing, the only issue I had was with the hours for the gym. It didn’t open until 9am and from at 2pm till 5pm, then closed again at 9pm. While I understand the need to keep things quiet for other guests, it wasn't conducive for traveling. No early morning workout before breakfast.

The hotel is definitely providing more comfort than the star rating is telling. Everything is very well arranged and clean. The staff is impressively friendly and always there for assistance. The rooms are quite and well furnitured. The family room I had for myself was of course quite spacious. The view on Chania is breathtaking. The restaurant supplies good food for fair prices. Also the room service for drinks is very quick and not too expensive. I would come back.

Our stay at the Royal Sun Hotel was perfect. The room with the sea view and balcony was of a high standard, clean and comfortable. The Hill restaurant, where we ate breakfast each day, had a stunning view overlooking the old port and the sea, and was a delight to sit at each morning. The breakfast choice and quality was probably the best we’ve ever experienced. The pool was great with that brilliant view and plenty of chairs and sunbeds to choose from. All the staff were so friendly and good natured it made the stay perfect. The reception staff were always happy, willing to help, full of information and again probably the best we’ve come across. The hotel provides a shuttle mini bus to transport the guests to and from the town of Chania. We definitely recommend the Royal Sun Hotel if you are visiting Chania.

My stayed was horrible. Housekeep was made a lot noise on the 3floor to the point of waking me up. One day housekeeping forgot to clean my room even I asked if they could come back because I was taking a shower which they agree to it. After noticing that they never came back I went to the front desk to request my room to get clean the front desk. The guy in the front desk seemed annoyed and said "it would have to wait because housekeeping is gone, and I guess one of them (hotel staff) have to do it. Which they never did. Shower were too small, and dirty.

Comments on hotel are misleading, be ware of this. Check in was not a pleasant experience, the lady at front desk was annoyed from the moment I approached the desk.Requests about VIP perks were brushed off, not recognized or not available. The place was practically empty. The initial room provided had mold on the roof of the bathroom. The second room had the same issue and the third one was apparently all they had available. There was mold in there as well but not as visible as it was in the other two. It had clearly been painted over. My reservation was none refundable so I endured. The gym is dated and it was in a mess when I walked in there after check in. Decided not to go back in there. My room was cleaned daily but bring your own towel if you must stay here. The towels house keeping kept leaving me after the second day should be retired. The rooms are not soundproof, any movement or sound in other rooms could be heard in my room, as a light sleeper this was challenging. After an attempt on the behalf of Expedia to assist, I was magically provided wine and a plate of fruit mid stay. Even though the hotel is old, there is soo much potential but it’s poorly maintained. The wall papers in the three rooms I saw was on their last leg. Attention to detail could go a long way. The restaurant on 3rd floor had great views, service was slow but I didn’t mind. The staff in the restaurant were polite and the food was tolerable.

Hotell som ligger en kort kjøretur på 20min fra flyplassen. Vi booket kun én natt her da vi skulle videre, og ønsket et hotell med badebasseng for å slappe av. Kjempefint uteområde med stort basseng og senger. Ett pluss at det var «skyggeplasser» om man ønsket det. Vi bestilte hotellrom med «delvis sjøutsikt». Helt grei standard og størrelse. Ble litt skuffet over renholdet på badet, da det virket litt skittent og det var hår i dusjen…. Rommene er ikke lydtette, så vi hørte alt fra folk pratet i gangene til når naboen tok seg en dusj. Frokosten var absolutt god. Vi spiste middag her også, den stod til forventningene. Eneste å trekke på her at det vi ventet lenge på servitøren og vi måtte nærmest huke tak når vi først fikk muligheten. Alt i alt et fint hotell med fantastisk utsikt over byen, men noe dårlig rengjøring og mye bråk fra gaten og generelt på hotellet trekker det ned. Én natt var mer enn nok for oss.

I stayed here for a week, with my 21 year old daughter. The view over Chania and the see is unbelievable! We had a wonderful time: the rooms were perfectly clean and well maintained. The staff is wonderful and helpful. There is a shuttle service into the old town, but walking down hill into town was also lovely. Breakfast is really good.

Después de 4 noches, la última tuve que cambiar de habitación. Al entrar en ellas, vi que era una cueva, sin luz, es una parte trasera que aunque tenga patio, hay un muro que no sabes ni que hora es de lo oscura que es, no entra ni un rallo de sol, y los coches o clientes de arriba te ven si estas en el patio, por lo que tienes que tener la cortina tirada todo el dia para preservar la intimidad. Después de gastarme un dineral en las noches anteriores, fui a recepción para preguntar si podrían cambiarme a una planta superior y no parecer un oso en una cueva, y la respuesta de la recepcionista y de la supervisora fue que estaban llenos y que lo sentían.... ante mi insistencia, apareció un milagro, habían habitaciones libres, ¨fue un milagro¨ claro,........ pero teniendo que pagar un suplemento. La queja es por poca empatía, la mentida de las dos chicas al decirme que estaban llenos, pero luego ya no, que habían libres previo pago, y después de gastar tanto dinero en los 4 dias, fueran incapaces de ayudarme y darme ese placer. No pedía la suite ni vistas al mar, pero algo con mas claridad. Solo fue este dia 16 de octubre por la tarde, porque el resto de dias, tanto el recepcionista de la mañana y tarde fueron excelentes. No recomiendo este hotel si os dan estas habitaciones, son verdaderas cuevas, y tampoco la falta de simpatía y predisposición de ayudar de dichas chicas que trabajaron el 16 de octubre por la tarde. Espero la dirección tome medidas. Gracias LLUIS

The breakfast was top of the line with unlimited options, both hot and cold, and it was served on the rooftop offering outstanding views. Dinner at the restaurant, The Hill, was outstanding. The shuttle service to Old Town was extremely efficient and reliable. I highly recommend this hotel! The only con was the teeny shower & would have loved some drawer space to be able to unpack.

The Royal Sun was very accommodating. We had travel issues, coming in a day later after our reservation. At no additional cost they adjusted our reservation. The views are extraordinary from the bar/breakfast area. We thought the distance from the Mediterranean would be an issue. However, not the case. Views, food, and staff do an amazing job. The shuttle service to and from the hotel to chania was great. Nothing bad to say about the Royal Sun. Showers are a little tight! Everything else wonderful. Highly recommend

I liked the place but it I have couple of points to comment on. First the walk to my room was extremely dark, and it was really scary to walk to hallway. Second, as I was in the room and taking a shower, someone opened the door and left the door open. I called the front desk and she asked me 3 times if I am sure that this happened! Why would anybody lie about something like this. I asked her to check with the cleaning lady, she did and called me back apologizing. But that is very unprofessional because why would she try to get in on the first place, how is she not informed that there is a customer in there. Then since she opened and saw that there is somebody in there, why d didn’t she close the door after her. It is just a very unprofessional incident that scared me a lot.

My stayed was horrible. Housekeep was made a lot noise on the 3floor to the point of waking me up. One day housekeeping forgot to clean my room even I asked if they could come back because I was taking a shower which they agree to it. After noticing that they never came back I went to the front desk to request my room to get clean the front desk. The service was really unfriendly, with exception of 3 people. Getting room service was always an issue because of comprehension and if we did want to approach them their attitude just put us off. Rolling eyes and sighs whilst customers made requests at breakfast was absolutely shocking. I ordered a salmon salad and whilst it was lovely and Fresh there was a bit of plastic in the food.

Staff was super friendly and helpful! We loved the free shuttle service to the city as well. We had a very early check out and they were kind enough to prepare breakfast kits for us and arrange a transfer to the ferry that morning. Honestly the view we had from the hotel was worth the money too! Would stay here again

Stunning hotel on top of hill. Definitely not walking distance to Old Chania but they have a shuttle that drops to and from which is great! Doesn't have an airport shuttle but taxi was about 25 euros. Stunning room, amazing balcony with views. I could have hung out there all night.

Het hotel ligt op de berg (met een shuttle-service naar de oude stad) en dat zorgt voor een fantastisch uitzicht. Het ontbijt is geweldig en daarbij dan dat uitzicht.. Het zwembad is prachtig, de kamers ruim, de bedden goed en het personeel is allemaal even vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

We wanted a hotel a short distance from the airport but still close enough to enjoy the city if we wanted to venture out. We did not leave the property that night. The restaurant was amazing along with its beautiful view. The room was quiet and clean with great amenities. We definitely will be staying here again but longer to have time to enjoy the pool as well.

I’m reluctant to leave a fabulous review as everyone will want to go there! It was our 4th visit to the hotel & it never fails to deliver on excellence, the staff are amazingly friendly & professional, nothing is too much trouble for them. The food in the restaurant is superb & the views over to the ocean are stunning, the nightly sunsets are priceless, love it there.

Hôtel un peu éloigné du centre mais une navette gratuite est à votre disposition pour vous déposé au centre et vous ramener ce qui est vraiment top .machine a laver et sécher linge a disposition des capsules pour 1 euros a la réception également un plus petit déjeuner complet avec du choix .ce qui nous a moins plus le restaurant le premier soir pas vraiment d accueil chaleureux car arrivé tard une attentes assez longue sans que personne ne viennent vous voir la moussaka très bonne pâtes au saumon pleins d arêtes dommage .je trouve l hôtel assez bien dans l ensemble je noterais a 8 /10 malgré la petite salle de bain mais nous avons choisis la chambre la moins chère

This is our third stay at this hotel. It is excellent, the staff are so friendly and professional. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was excellent as well, with a lot of choices. The view over Chania from our room which was very comfortable, with a large balcony was fantastic.

A brilliant one day one night stay over while travelling through Crete. Fabulous staff amazing views from the bedrooms and one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had.
