Lots of parking, friendly welcome, comfortable room, bottled water and some nibbles provided, nice outdoor terrace for drinks, great restaurant for dinner, lots of breakfast choice, quick walk into Cheddar. Overall a great choice and I’d recommend!

Had a great stay here, a very large room and bathroom with extra touches. Water and snacks and a great hospitality tray. Their food was delicious with great service in restaurant and bar. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location for exploring the Gorge. Free parking as well, don’t forget to register your car at the bar. Would definitely recommend.

Hotel staff are friendly and down to earth. You can walk pretty much anywhere in Cheddar from this place. Really great atmosphere in the pub, nice beer selection. A bit of road noise in the rooms, but not much. Great shower and bath. Breakfast was good, WiFi was good. Oddest thing was that carpet was white - we were afraid of getting it muddy so took our shoes off downstairs.

Parking was easy and plentiful and it was easy to register the car for the duration of our stay for free. It is about a 10 minute walk to the gorge so an ideal location. The service was exceptional at the bar, in the restaurant and when checking in and out. The breakfast was really good (and they were happy to provide more or less of items on the full English at request) and included in the price. The two dinners we had were very good, the roast was potentially the best I have ever had (the pork), which is saying something as I have had many roasts. I don’t leave many reviews as a lot of places are nice but this was exceptional for the price. The staff there make this a great and welcoming place to stay. We will certainly be back.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The location is brilliant and with parking included always handy in a tourist attraction village. Earplugs are supplied due to road noise even though we had no trouble with noise. Breakfast was very tasty and well portioned. Will definitely stay again.

Stayed here for the bank holiday weekend. What a pleasant surprise. The rooms were very clean. The decor simple but goes well with the setting. Everything from the toiletries and the complimentary snacks made our stay so special. We really loved staying at this hotel. The service is excellent. Staff so attentive and very helpful. Daniel, Maury, Hannah and lots of others which I forgot the names of were brilliant. They really went the extra mile for us! I would highly recommend and would stay here if I found myself in Cheddar again. Our room was facing the road so a bit noisy during the day but not much they can do about it as it seems like a listed building. It got quiet during the night so we got a good night sleep.

A welcome letter on the bed was a nice touch; it detailed that the hotel windows could not be changed owing to conservation planning rules. However, rust/ black mould in bathroom could perhaps be tackled, but this is a minor detail. Overall, we found the room to be great. The addition of food treats - peanuts and jelly beans- was a thoughtful inclusion. Free car parking too behind the hotel.

Room was clean just needed attention to curtains and curtain poles. Bedding had a rip just little details like that let it down in that department. Staff couldn’t do enough for you very friendly. Food excellent first class. Would recommend 👍

We loved staying at those charming pub. Staff were all happy, helpful and efficient, the pub is well cared for and beautifully decorated. Our room read lovely, comfortable, week appointed and nice and clean. The only exception was that the old windows and picture trail in the bathroom need a more thorough clean, but nothing major. Lovely personalised touches and really good food! Would definitely stay again.

Cannot recommend this highly enough- such lovely staff at check in, went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Room was very clean and comfortable, bed and linen was lovely. Food at the pub is superb. Love to find these gems when solo travelling with work, makes the week so much easier

Overnight stay on the way to Torquay. Visited the caves and walked up Jacobs Ladder. The Bath Arms was ideally placed for this, including free parking for guests. The staff were fantastic, from our initial arrival, to our checkout. We ate our evening meals here, and couldn't fault any aspect of the evening. Breakfast was delicious, and we were served by the owner, who was very pleasant and full of handy hints and ideas about the local amenities. Our room was spotlessly clean, very modern, lovely comfy bed, we would definitely recommend.

Stayed just for a night. Overall I loved the old charm of the pub and the lovely big fireplaces, the food was nice, the staff were wonderful, but it wasn’t the best hotel room. - The “double/king bed” is 2 singles pushed together which is my pet hate. - cheap furniture needs upgrading. - The bathroom really needs an update. There was paint chippings from the walls all over the floor & in the shower cubical. The shower leaked & dripped all night. The bedding & textiles all felt thin & cheap. The cushions & bedspread really need washing or ideally replacing. They do warn you the windows are cold as it’s an old building which is fine but, ours was actually smashed in 2 places so was really drafty. They could maybe do with some shutters or at least proper lined blackout thermal curtains & a blind. Just a few upgrades would really make such a difference.

It is a beautiful place with a wonderful restaurant. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The ONLY issue we had is, being in our 60s, the lack of hand rails in the bathroom. The shower is an in-bath type and we would really have found a couple of handrails very useful. One as you get in and one next to the shower. Other than that it was a perfect stay.

We really enjoyed our stay. The room was comfortable and spacious. We didn't notice road noise through the night. The staff were really helpful and breakfast excellent. We also had an evening meal which was fabulous! We'll be back.

The room we had was comfortable but so noisy. It was off the road but the car noise was very loud as the windows were old and don’t shut properly. (The hotel tells you they supply ear plugs).The next rooms bathroom was next to ours and there was no sound buffering, you could hear EVERYTHING. The hotel staff were delightful and the food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent, shame we didn’t get much sleep!

We loved bath arms! Excellent food (Sunday roast, dinner and breakfast all brilliant), really friendly and accommodating staff, rooms nice and spacious and very good location for accessing the gorge and walks etc without worrying about expensive parking! We would definitely come back

Cannot say enough about the Bath Arms. Welcomed immediately by Jack, who seemed to be bar staff at first but was a bit of Everything. Jack showed us to our room, gave drink recommendations, served us our meal in the dining room, and was extremely approachable and friendly at all times. I would give this place 6 stars if it was an option, purely based on that impeccable service! The morning staff, especially Linda from Maine, were lovely and accommodating with our meal requirements. The hotel location is great for exploring the Gorge and caves, and even served as a convenient base for our day trip down to Glastonbury. The room was massive and comfortable. My only regret was not making use of the gorgeous bathtub in our short time there. Their website mentions noise might be an issue given location, but we stayed mid-week when it was mostly raining so were not disturbed even with the windows open. I would absolutely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

Cannot recommend this highly enough- such lovely staff at check in, went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Room was very clean and comfortable, bed and linen was lovely. Food at the pub is superb. Love to find these gems when solo travelling with work, makes the week so much easier

The staff went above and beyond. Everyone who works here have been fantastic. Couldn’t fault them. The food is also excellent. Had a lovely meal on arrival and breakfast was good also. Will definitely stay here again if we are in this area

We loved bath arms! Excellent food (Sunday roast, dinner and breakfast all brilliant), really friendly and accommodating staff, rooms nice and spacious and very good location for accessing the gorge and walks etc without worrying about expensive parking! We would definitely come back

We booked this hotel on spec, Yes it’s a nice hotel, yes it’s in a lovely area, yes the rooms were great and the food excellent. However, what sets this hotel apart are the staff. Without exception they were all delightful. We were made to feel welcome from the outset and in a short space of time felt like regulars. I would definitely go back again.

Lovely hotel. Food was excellent quality and the room was a good size. Bed was one of the best we have slept in at any hotel. Easy 10 minutes walk to the caves and restaurants.

Lovely hotel in easy walking distance of Cheddar Gorge and the Caves. Staff were fantastic, friendly, cheerful and very helpful. Food was excellent, ate once in the restaurant and once in the bar , service was first class. Would definitely recommend.

Parking was easy and plentiful and it was easy to register the car for the duration of our stay for free. It is about a 10 minute walk to the gorge so an ideal location. The service was exceptional at the bar, in the restaurant and when checking in and out. The breakfast was really good (and they were happy to provide more or less of items on the full English at request) and included in the price. The two dinners we had were very good, the roast was potentially the best I have ever had (the pork), which is saying something as I have had many roasts. I don’t leave many reviews as a lot of places are nice but this was exceptional for the price. The staff there make this a great and welcoming place to stay. We will certainly be back.

We ate here 2 nights of our stay and the menu is great as is the food. Nice location about 5 mins walk from the village centre. Staff super friendly and happy to give recommendations on things to do.

Overnight stay on the way to Torquay. Visited the caves and walked up Jacobs Ladder. The Bath Arms was ideally placed for this, including free parking for guests. The staff were fantastic, from our initial arrival, to our checkout. We ate our evening meals here, and couldn't fault any aspect of the evening. Breakfast was delicious, and we were served by the owner, who was very pleasant and full of handy hints and ideas about the local amenities. Our room was spotlessly clean, very modern, lovely comfy bed, we would definitely recommend.

The staff were very accommodating and friendly. The location is brilliant and with parking included always handy in a tourist attraction village. Earplugs are supplied due to road noise even though we had no trouble with noise. Breakfast was very tasty and well portioned. Will definitely stay again.

Second time of staying here. So that says a lot! All staff very friendly and food was delicious, although quite expensive. Beautiful breakfast with a good choice. Room large, bed comfy, all very clean and little extras, and water in the room were a nice touch! Definitely recommend. Although above a pub no noise whatsoever! Plenty of free parking and the entrance to the caves very close by.

Stayed at the Bath Arms Hotel while working in the area. Everything about the hotel was excellent, very comfortable room, friendly & very helpful staff and delicious food & drink. Probably more suited to holiday makers than a business trip but still a lovely place to relax after a days work.

Room was clean just needed attention to curtains and curtain poles. Bedding had a rip just little details like that let it down in that department. Staff couldn’t do enough for you very friendly. Food excellent first class. Would recommend 👍

We loved staying at those charming pub. Staff were all happy, helpful and efficient, the pub is well cared for and beautifully decorated. Our room read lovely, comfortable, week appointed and nice and clean. The only exception was that the old windows and picture trail in the bathroom need a more thorough clean, but nothing major. Lovely personalised touches and really good food! Would definitely stay again.
