The Wood Norton

Very nice historic property for a 4* hotel. Good restaurant and bar too. The gym is very neglected but usable. I was only for a night travelling for work and I got a really good deal. No air conditioning in the rooms but I was given a working fan. Thanks

Lovely hotel, due to work commitments I had room service, so can't review the restaurant. Plenty of EV chargers but these are at the top of the car park. Comfy bed, I would stay again

The hotel is very nice, the rooms were a good size and very clean, the bar and pool room were a great place to rekax, and the gardens are beautiful. Breakfast was nice, it is a good location, we would stay here again.

A brilliant stay. Superb hotel. The meal and breakfast that we had were excellent as was our room - room 202. The only tiny criticism is that the signage for the car park is not very clear and the 3 pin plug sockets near the mirror don’t accommodate normal plugs, so we had to use the extension block provided across the room.

Parking was a free for all. Reception smelt of stale drains. Room was big and clean but in an annex with a load of students running about until the early hours and REALLY hot! Food was awful. The saddest breakfast ever, really poor, and dinner included the one vegetarian option of mushroom risotto with no accompaniments for £28!!!! I went to one of the local pubs. Not bad as a hotel, but there are loads better for the money considering it’s not a great location either.

Some guests were able to enter the restaurant by the bottom door at breakfast and seat themselves. This caused mayhem for staff and was unfair on the guests waiting in the appropriate area to be seated. The cutlery could be cleaner. Why is salt and pepper not on each table? Breakfast staff were stressed and sometimes abrupt but the staff at dinner were excellent. The male receptionist on the arrival desk on the evening of Thursday 29th May would definitely benefit from a chat about his personal hygiene. To be blunt he smelt very strongly of bad body odour. Our room was great with a stunning view. Molten Brown toiletries were lovely. The electric car charging stations were greatly appreciated. The property itself was magnificent.

This is my first ever time at Wood Norton Hotel. It was an 8 hour stay only. My room was in one of the new Red Brick wings outside of the Hotel itself. Next time, I would categorically ask for a room in the Main Hotel with all the amenities to hand. Lighting to the Red Brick extension is non-existent. Not easy in the dark.

Comfortable country country house style hotel. Huge king size bed in a well sized room Friendly and helpful staff Large gardens Great breakfast cooked to order plus all the usual cereals , fruits and cold meets on a buffet Beware if you have mobility problems some of the rooms are in an annex that has a slope to navigate and the car park is up a steep hill, although there is a turning circle just outside reception for checking in and out However, these were minor drawbacks. Overall an excellent hotel

Lovely character hotel. Nice food and great service. Only disapointment is that the gym is no longer available. There is a spa but its limited opening hours and an extra charge of 25. The old gym though a little tored was great and open all hours. But for that a five star review.

A stunning venue with outstanding food but!! having chosen the grandest room in the hotel "The Duchesse D'Orleans, Dorothee" Which has great bones ie stunning oak paneling in both the room and ensuite on closer inspection there were old drill holes everywhere, missing bits of trim, and lots of watermarks from leaks, drinks and stains on the fireplace shelf. As an antiques dealer / Furniture restorer this room could have been so much better with some care and attention! Then there was the totally inappropriate furniture!! Cheap and nasty Modern chipboard wardrobe, dressing table, and chest of draws which I'm sure were far more expensive than going to a local auction house and getting some period correct furniture that would have complimented the room and given it a grand feeling and opulence. The corridors had more grandeur than the room. Then you have a shower that didn't drain away the water. It was my 60th birthday and we were there to celebrate and we had a really nice time but if you are going to charge these rates for a VIP room, I suggest the management visit Coomb Abbey in Coventry and see what a real VIP Feature room looks like.

Bed really comfy, room very nice. Shower seal needed replacing as flooded the bathroom. Food mediocre and overpriced. We were forgotten at breakfast and had to ask again for our food. Otherwise, beautiful, quiet venue with a very pleasing atmosphere.

Lovely place to stay, rooms and corridors need a bit of TLC. Lovely breakfasts, dinner only ate there once, food ok! But could be better for the price. Staff friendly and chatty. Rained a lot during my stay so didn’t get chance to look around the grounds, but looks lovely from a distance.

Beautiful grounds and delightful house. Tasty and well presented food. Spacious room,slightly tired bathroom walls/ mastic but nothing to put me off. Overall a very good experience.

Main building full with character, my room was another building at the back, decent size room bathroom light however was faulty, corridors to room a little tired, entrance to block could be better signposted and more appealing, breakfast was exceptionally good. I would stay again.

Beautiful property, the bar staff were fantastic and really helpful with recommendations. The breakfast was so good! The only.issue was the room was very hot- where we stayed (the mews) the pipes were constantly radiating heat even with the radiator off. We had to have the fan on and the window open all night, despite it only being around 12 degrees outside. We also made use of the spa facilities (extra £20 each) just next door which was lovely.

I stayed in a king deluxe. The room was lovely, spacious with great views.

The room/view was beautiful, the bed was ridiculously comfortable, housekeeping was great and reception staff welcoming & friendly. The hotel was fresh and clean. The parking was a little difficult for myself with bad knees as you had to go up & down several tall & uneven stairs outside to get to & from the car park - but handy to have a drop off point at the front door so not too much of a problem. The restaurant (and bar) however was the biggest let-down of our stay at this hotel. We had been looking forward to eating there on the first night. The restaurant had several other customers there but it was not packed as our booking was at a later time. The service was not good - at the bar we ordered 2 basic cocktails (a mojito and a Long Island iced tea), which were tasteless and took an age for the bartender to make. There was no drinks menu there. There also seemed like a lot of tension between the bar staff. We did not complain at the time because we were tired and had to go for our dinner reservation. The food at dinner was average, not bad but not something I'd be keen to have again. Under-seasoned starters. The sharing cote de beuf was well seasoned but cooked very unevenly - we asked for it medium rare and each slice ranged from rare to well done. Again the serving staff that night were not very friendly, or efficient, and seemed tense all weekend including breakfast. Breakfast again was average each morning. Monday morning's staff were much better and welcoming.

Good location. Lovely property and rooms. Was easily able to book one night and at short notice. Windows in rooms could do with updating and room 303 very noisy from 6am due to all the services (refuge etc) arriving on Monday morning. Staff in restaurant at breakfast time were lovely. Very helpful and friendly. Lovely stay and will use again.

Our deluxe king room was at the rear of the property and was clean, quiet and private. When boiling the kettle, I had to place it on the floor as the cable was not long enough to go from the socket to the table. This was also an issue with regards the hairdryer for my wife and a mirror. Iron and board in the room were useful. On the Saturday there was a wedding reception occurring during our stay and when we required food in the bar, staff were not available and neither was the food as the chef and staff were being utilised for the main event! We had to eat in the main restaurant rather than the bar. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Overall, we would use the hotel again.

The first room we were given was not what we expected as we had booked a garden view. This was resolved quickly by the receptionist. The second room was beautiful as was the view. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room well stocked and clean.

The room was nice and the hotel overall had a pleasant atmosphere. However, the internet connection was extremely poor, which made it difficult to work effectively. Unfortunately, due to this, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again for business purposes

TV didn’t work, shower gel dispenser broken, no sockets near bed - only on other side of room. Very heavy quilt for the hot weather and no air con, so had to plug in fan on other side of room where plugs were - very frustrating!

What a lovely hotel! Very quirky with a mix of old and new buildings/decor but all worked. Beautiful gardens and with stunning views and only a short drive from the attractions of the Cotswolds. The staff were a credit to the hotel, all very friendly, attentive in a relaxed way and couldn't do enough for us. Special mention goes to Beth who greeted us at the beginning of our stay and was particularly lovely. Stayed for 3 nights and sampled dinner and breakfast which was delicious, couldn't criticise a thing. Would definitely stay again and recommend that you do !

Check in was not the best. We had driven for about 4 hours and arrived 20 mins before proscribed check-in time and were told we'd have to wait. There was nobody serving in the bar\lounge so we asked reception to call someone so we could have a coffee. Nobody appeared by checkin time so we then checked in. When I asked a little later if I could have a magnifying mirror to apply my make-up, receptionist said they didnt have one. Following morning I asked again and they found one for me. Then my husband had forgotten his shave gel and they couldnt help with that. We had to drive to the shops. The most basic Premier Inn would have helped with that. At the prices they charge, these things matter. Despite that the wedding was wonderful and the food was good.. Serving staff were efficient and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Just the little things that werent good sadly.

An amazing hotel. The staff are such a credit to the place, they were all so approachable and helpful. Our king size room was spacious and clean, the bed was so comfortable. Every meal we had there was superb. We will be back at some point!

Lovely hotel with beautiful scenery as a backdrop. Staff all very helpful. Stayed over following a family event for a 50th wedding anniversary celebration and it was a great venue for it.

Along with our American friends we had a wonderful two day stay at this beautiful property in the most gorgeous scenery in the Cotswold. Beth on reception was absolutely wonderful, so caring, polite and informative. She is a massive asset to your company and we cannot thank her enough for helping make our stay truly fabulous

The restaurant provided both a comprehensive menu and excellent service whilst breakfast was a real spread, with both English and a very wide choice of healthy options. Will definitely be back.

Lovely setting, great standard of accomodation, service very good and hotel very easy to get to being on a good trunk road close to motorway network.

If you want quiet and old world charm you found it. You must have a car because of location but if you want a restful location this is it. Make sure you read the interesting history of the house

Beautiful house tucked away from view.

Nice historic property. Staff where very good. Some areas could do with a lick of paint here and there. But overall a very nice place, great location for Evesham, Cotswalds etc

We had a lovely stay here a week ago. It’s a beautiful, well kept hideaway yet very accessible. We loved our room, breakfast and the gardens. We will happily stay here next time we are in the area.

Gorgeous peaceful hotel in the British countryside, with lovely rooms and great food. Unfortunately we didn't have time to appreciate it as much as we would have liked to.

Super location close to the Malvern hills and the Welsh borders in one direction and Stratford upon Avon and Broadway as the gates to the Cotswolds in the other direction.

This property is extraordinary. If you get a chance to stay here, I highly recommend it. The building, grounds, and history are all outstanding and extraordinary. The dinner served in the restaurant is also outstanding. We did not have lunch there and the breakfast was average at best. The rooms are modern, recently refurbished, and spotless. The bathrooms are also spotless. Everything was really, really nice. Especially the grounds and the views. The only thing they could do better is improve their breakfast offerings, and place coffee makers in the room. They do offer instant coffee and hot water in the room, but I prefer to make my own coffee in the morning.

Beautiful hotel in lovely grounds. Fist we thought staff a bit cold however after geing there a short time we changed our opinion. Food excellent prices a bit high in the restaurant but delicious, as was rge cooked breakfast included in our stay.

Fabulous stay, warm and friendly check in, great service at dinner and breakfast. Large room, huge comfy bed, great powerful shower even had complimentary molton brown toiletries. Hotel and grounds were stunning. Dinner was exceptional, very tasty and beautiful presentation. Breakfast was plentiful but this is where my one negative is. Great breakfast spoilt by only serving instant coffee. At least offer a cafetière! I would have forgone the expensive toiletries for a decent cup of coffee.
