The property itself was lovely however for me it was a toss up between this hotel and another with a pool. I finally went to this one only to find that you have to pay extra to use the pool and gym (£5 per day) and that they have extensive “splash times” where kids take over the entire pool. None of this is mentioned on the Expedia booking and, after being annoyed at paying the extra at check in, I soon discovered I couldn’t even use the extra facilities I’d paid for. I paid for both days in advance but complained after the first day expecting a refund of the extra charge but no such luck. Really let down by what would have been a nice place

Real mix bag. Hotel looks good & modern but fails practically. Bathroom with no extraction, so condensation everywhere. Shower sprays water all over the floor. Really dim lighting in the room, no main light covering most of the room. Hotel bar was full with football fans which isn't great if you're away with work and want to eat/work. Generally poor service for drinks and food. They were busy but just seem chaotic That said. Check-in is quiet efficient, although they charge straight to the reservation card, most places check. Also it does have a great gym

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Room was clean and a good size, pillows weren’t that comfortable. We used the pool but were disappointed to find that kids could only swim till 5, check in wasn’t until 3 so by the time we got sorted there wasn’t much time. We ate at the restaurant and we were pleasantly surprised by the food it was really good, only complaint was that it’s a big open space so was loud and gives a sports bar vibe. We would stay at village again.

Stayed in a Club room and although I had a desk there was no chair and when I asked for one there was no chairs available so could not do any work in my room. In addition as a guest paying extra for car parking, spaces are limited due to the amount of people visiting the gym. Food was very good and the gym facilities were great.

Easy check-in, restaurant was lovely - modern, lots of options on menu, fun sports bar and games to play. Pool was lovely, hot tub and bubble pool too. Room was clean, well-presented, enormous shower-wet room. Everything was great.

Room and bathroom were comfortable. Pool was limited. 1half of pool is roped of for swimming back and forth only. No lifeguards but pool attendants to let you know kids can’t be in pool without a parent.

What many hotels are missing, this hotel has it very right. The concept of a modern, welcoming hotel, with fun atmosphere. Darts, games tables, great meals, huge gym, impressive pool area, large bath towels, amazing breakfast, lovely outdoor seating area. This hotel has it all on offer. Family friendly as well. We will be back

The room smelt strongly of damp. Carpet had been flooded numerous times. When I used the shower I realised why. The shower room (we were put in an accessible room) when used flooded straight out of the bathroom door onto the carpet. The water stayed flooded in the shower room too resulting in sloshing around in water to use the toilet. We had to move rooms and were moved to another room which also smelt damp and had a water stained carpet. Instead of feeling relaxed and spoilt for my weekend away I was stressed and felt dirty.

Staff are very friendly and helpful, hotel is modern and clean. Our room had clearly had repairs done but these were not finished, large sections of wall damaged and filled in but not redecorated, there was also mould on the bathroom ceiling. The room is also very dark, due to lack of ceiling lights, not a problem in summer when light would stream through the nice big window. But in December, trying to get a family of 4 dressed and ready early in the morning in the dark was not ideal.

Room was dirty, found McDonald’s wrappers under the bed must have been from previous guests and showed the level of cleaning. Room had damage to the walls and did not feel well kept in the corridor areas. No staff when we arrived to assist with check in and was very loud as a party was going on and very drunk people in reception area which scared our daughter. Would not stay again

We checked in the key wouldn’t register. Went to the room the heating was broken with an electric heater on the side not plugged in and the window open (it was 0 degrees outside) so we were freezing. There wa wa half eaten rich tea biscuit left on the chair for the dressing table. The beds were not made and definitely didn’t appear to be clean sheets, I think maybe the room had been tidied for an existing customer and not for a new stay. The bathroom had wet towels on the floor and hair in the shower. The restaurant was ok although no kids pricing advertised or options besides the kids buffet which is very basic bland kiddy foods. We stayed here last year and really enjoyed it but after this stay we won’t be returning it’s really gone down hill

Stayed at this hotel for the last 3 years for an exhibition. It does need a little TLC. Shower leaking and bathroom generally dirty. Bar area gets too busy when there are events on over the weekend so had to drive to Bracknell to get an evening meal.

My room hasn’t properly been cleaned. The mugs still had leftover coffee in them from the last guests, tea/coffee/milk hadn’t been replaced. Furthermore, the bins had not been emptied. Bathroom bin contained previous guests rubbish including female hygiene products. Not very good at all. Also, we were woken at 6am by loud music from the gym downstairs

Two night stay, Saturday and Sunday night. On the Saturday the place was horrendously business and it was as if we had stepped into a nightclub with the noise from the bar! They have self check in which is a bit of a nightmare but luckily a person became available to help. The place is very well presented and maintained and our room which was on the first floor was small yet comfortable. The bathroom had a great shower but poor extraction, so by the end of a shower the walls were dripping with condensation and there wasn't a dry spot in the bathroom! The rooms are not soundproof and you hear everything. We were disturbed many times during the night with people walking down the corridor talking and slamming doors. Thankfully on the Sunday night it was quieter but we were then awoken early by loud music from below. It then turned out that we were above a studio room in the gym where they were holding exercise classes. No lie in for us! All in all, very mixed opinions about this place but will probably never use a Village Hotel again

Great location for a trip to Legoland, loved the bar showing sport and with a good menu. Tip - if you’re eating at the hotel, make sure you book a table as it gets full! Rooms good, pool good, only improvement I’d say is that it could do with a mirror near the tv and some more lights! A bit dark in the downstairs rooms. Apart from that, 5 stars.

The hotel room itself was great for what we needed. Two large comfy beds in the family room. Great location for attractions in the area. Negatives: - We paid for access to the pool but never got to use it. Children can only access until 6 at the weekends. We checked in at 3. Went straight down to the pool and it was full. We went down a further 3 times between then and 5:30 and it was still full. We chose the hotel because it had a pool, so were very disappointed. - Family rooms are located on the first floor. At 6am, we were woken by incredibly loud music from the gym. The base was so loud, it shook the room and everyone was awake. Not what you want with young children.

When we arrived we were given a family room where the window wouldnt lock, you only had to lean on the window and it opened, not acceptable, especially with young children. We were then moved to the room next door which again had an issue with the window not shutting properly so there was a draft. When using the restaurant in the hotel for dinner, we waited an hour before being told our order actually hadnt been sent through to the kitchen and so it would be 15 more munutes. This turned into an extra 35 minutes, so in total we waited over an hour and a half for food. We were told there wasnt much they could do as their manager hadnt arrived that night due to a family emergency and there was no other manager in the hotel! At not one point were we told that breakfast finished at 9.30, there were no signs or notices, and so we arrived at 9.15 to be told we would have to hurry up as we had 15 minutes to eat before they cleared up the breakfast. Overall crap stay, bad service and definately wouldnt reccomend or go back there!

We visited the hotel during December and it was geared up for Christmas parties. We arrived late and on arrival we had to battle with our suitcases through crowds of drunk people smoking at the entrance. There was nowhere quiet to eat as we wanted food as the main bar area was overtaken by party goers. The self check in was easy, but a member of staff rushed over and took over. She then asked me to scan a QR and leave her a review (even taking my phone to press the 5 stars and enter her name)…we had only just arrived and weren’t ready to leave a review. Assistance when in the room is all via a web chat which the team were slow to respond to and I was told I couldn’t eat due to my dietary requirements as they were too busy cooking food for the Christmas parties. Then at 10pm someone started to vacuum the hallway outside the room. I went to bed hungry and frustrated. Breakfast was better and someone far more friendly helped us check out. I wouldn’t recommend visiting in December again if not part of the Christmas parties.

The front of house staff in the restaurant went above and beyond to be helpful, attentive and friendly at both breakfast and evening time. We were travelling with two excited children at Christmas time and they were both very chatty and accomodating which made the meal times easy!

Hotel was fine - check in was by touch screen but. Member of staff came over to help. I didn’t need it but they insisted and then tried to get me to leave a review by scanning their QR code on their badge and using their name. Was just a bit weird. And then they followed me to the lifts and tried to get me to use them even though I wanted to take the stairs. Again was just a bit weird!

We have stayed at this hotel multiple times and always enjoyed it. The service is excellent, the rooms are comfortable, and the atmosphere is pleasant. However, this time, we were very disappointed with the pool—especially the behavior of the manager, Charlie. When we arrived with our children, the pool area was freezing. The emergency exit door, right next to the lounge chairs, was wide open, letting in a strong draft. It was propped open with an electrical reel. I closed it, but the lifeguard said it was per the manager’s instructions. When I asked to speak with him, a young man in a tracksuit approached and rudely said, "What do you want?", spoken in a tone as if he was the most important person there. Instead of apologizing, he insisted the door must stay open for ventilation, even though it was 7°C (44°F) and windy outside. If the ventilation system isn’t working, the pool should be temporarily closed, not left open to freezing drafts. We had to rush our kids out and dry them quickly to keep them from getting sick. We understand technical issues happen, but staff attitude matters. Charlie’s rude and unprofessional behavior left a very negative impression.

I have stayed here a couple of times. It's always been ok. I was a bit disappointed that when I checked the website it said Breakfast from 6.30 so I booked it. We had a 6-hour drive back & needed to set off no later than 7. When we came down for breakfast it was 7.30 at the weekend & was told it was on the website. We were given a coffee from the machine but no breakfast or refund. We also had a room that faced the dual carriageway, not stayed in one of these before. The noise from the traffic made it sound like the window was open, but it wasn't & it was constant even at 3 am when I woke up!

The restaurant let the stay down. We went to get some food at lunch time, tge staff were so slow and we had to wait ages for our food. It was difficult due to having two autistic children, they find it difficult to wait. The food was over priced for what we had. And the choice for celiac (gluten free) was poor.

Overall we really enjoyed this hotel. The aesthetics of it were great and it was super clean and comfortable. My only criticism is that the staff in the restaurant aren’t the most helpful. We stood around waiting for service multiple times (as did other guests). We even ordered room service and I had to go down and ask about it bec it didn’t show up more than 1/2 hour after its expected time. They had to reorder it and finally delivered it to our room. The breakfast was great the first morning we had it, but the 2nd day they started clearing everything out early.

The staff in the bar/restaurant were extremely slow and chaotic. Could have been faster as by the time our food came out the kids had finished their buffet and we're running around 😔
