This property was exceptionally good. Old, but very clean. Spacious room with seating area. King size bed was comfortable. Air conditioning worked great. No coffee in the rooms but they had it in the office. Refrigerator and microwave in the room. No amenities but we were just passing through. Owners were very nice. Definitely recommend and will stay again.

This is an old-style motel where you drive up to the door. It's up a hill away from the road and the highway, so fairly quiet. The lighting is pretty good, which is rare these days. It's basic but clean and everything worked. It's fine for an overnight during a road trip.

For the price we got a clean and quiet room right off the highway in an area where there was plenty of eateries, etc. I wasn’t expecting luxury and didn’t get it but we still had a good stay with an emphasis, again, on clean and quiet. There is no complimentary breakfast if that floats your boat but there is a cute diner down the road that was good and very reasonable. There was no coffeemaker in the room either. And no box of tissues which would have been appreciated. Even though it is an old fashioned pull your car to the door kind of motel, it was far off the road and was very much silent at night. All that said we’d use it again if in the area. Owner/manager could have been a bit friendlier. It doesn’t hurt to smile.

The room was clean and spacious. There were ample channels on the TV from which to choose. I enjoyed that there was a nearby lake to which I could walk to "wind down." Parking was right in front of my room.

So many bad motels lately, this one is fantastic. All the basics were perfect: shower good, strong and hot, bed and linens good, Wifi worked fine, AC new and sufficient, far from the Interstate noise, enough off the local road to minimize it's noise, very close to gas and food, easy to get to (though the entrance requires a sharp eye). there was a simple alarm clock and phone in the room, along with a fridge and microwave. Minimal, but that's just what one wants when arriving midway on a long road trip. No coffee in room, but free coffee and ice at the desk. I was so happy I left a large tip.

This motel is an excellent value. Don’t be deterred by the modest outside appearance. The layout is the standard one from the early age of motels— park in front of the outside door with the office at the end. It sits off the main road on top of a small knoll so you have a pleasant view. The beds are comfortable and the heat and hot water are ample. You can walk down into the built up area if you like. Best of all the room rates are a real bargain for the quality of the thing that really matter. If you like the gloss of glitzy style you may disapprove but if you want comfort and value you’ll approve very much.

An older motel but extremely clean and well-maintained. I was travelling and stayed here on my way out. When I ended up back in Somerset, I booked a room here again. The same things I loved on my first visit were what will make this my "go to" for future trips. The couple that runs it are very accomodating and friendly.

We’ve been staying at the Dollar Inn for many years. The rooms are always spotless. The fridge and microwave are definitely a bonus, and keep us coming back year after year. The motel is a no frills stay, but the room rates are fantastic. We love the area and look forward to our next visit.

We were staying in the area to attend the 9/11 memorial event at the Flight 93 Memorial and selected this location for its proximity. This was a pleasant surprise and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The bathroom was probably the cleanest bathroom of any lodging stay ever! The pillows and beds were very comfortable. The parking was super easy and convenient. This isn't fancy but it was everything we needed.

The Dollar Inn is the best value motel around. The room we stayed in had some updates to the furnishings and carpet. Beds are comfortable and the room is immaculate. We have stayed at the Dollar Inn many times over the years. It’s a pleasure knowing that we can always depend on a comfortable visit.

I've been a guest at the Dollar Inn for several years and would recommend it to anyone visiting Somerset. The rates are low. and the room was clean and spacious. I especially enjoyed the fridge and the daily housekeeping, which is something you don't see at other motels.

If you’re traveling and just want a bed for the night this is a great option. My room was very dated but clean. The bed was comfortable and there is plenty of water pressure for a good shower. It’s also nice in the winter to have your vehicle parked just outside your door.

When first arriving, I thought maybe I made a mistake reserving here for 3 nights. Place looks kind of old and dated. Then I got in my room. Don't expect a room at a 5 star hotel and you won't be disappointed. Room was clean, beds were very comfortable, the microwave worked well and the freezer in the mini fridge actually made ice. This place is situated about 100 yards from highway so it is a little difficult to find initially but for a quiet comfortable stay, it is unbeatable. I will definitely stay again if I need to stay in the area and I have already recommended it to friends if they need a nice budget friendly motel.

Knowing this is a very basic bargain motel going in, it lived up to its reputation for being reasonably clean, quiet and has large, quiet rooms. Newer chairs, carpet looked pretty new and very clean, just a little peeling paint in the restroom and loud, low-end air conditioner. Luckily I didn’t need it. But if you’re looking for a bargain in Somerset this is it.

While the Dollar Inn is a small, no frills, old motel building, its rooms are spacious, clean & quiet. Manager Mike & his wife are helpful. I've twice spent 5 nights there while attending an annual July conference in the area in 2022 & 2023. It is a very functional place to spend the night after a long day elsewhere. The Dollar Inn's very reasonable prices will make you smile.

There was no electricity for more than 2 hours during night, I stayed only one night. Between 1 am and 3.30 am, there was power outage and no responses from help desk when I called them. It’s very dark and suffocating inside, and not safe to open window or door. Very terrible experience. One good thing, The room was clean and neat.

The place is old but maintained. The room was clean and the furnishings were nice. The room more than met my needs of a place to spend the night and watch tv. Certainly worth the price and it saved me over $100 if I had stayed at the Hampton Inn or similar property. The young man running the desk was new but very friendly.

This motel sits on a hill. I can imagine that once upon a time it was abandoned and then these owners acquired it and did a good job with the renovations. It's not spectacular, but it is neat, clean, and well cared for, what you see in the picture. This motel is on an exit about an hour out from Pittsburgh. It also sits in-between the 911 and Johnstown Flood National Museums.

This place is situated about 100 yards from highway so it is a little difficult to find initially but for a quiet comfortable stay, it is unbeatable. I will definitely stay again if I need to stay in the area and I have already recommended it to friends if they need a nice budget friendly motel.

Don't change a thing!!! I'm so glad I read the reviews and gave this place a chance. It has very basic amenities, but it is very clean and well maintained. The owners seem to actually care about the property. Loved seeing the little vegetable garden outside our window in the back. It's situated on a hill where you get a view of basically the whole town from the front door. We ate at Pine Grill while using the laundromat across the street, very convenient. Classic road trip style Americana. If you are looking for a place to stay in the area, this is the one!

This is a wonderful small motel, the rooms are large, very comfortable and the view on top of the hill is beautiful. There are many restaurants nearby and I was completely shocked that they actually cleaned our room and gave us fresh towels on our second day, no one has done that since before Covid.and you could not beat the price! Such friendly staff too.

This is an old-style motel where you drive up to the door. It's up a hill away from the road and the highway, so fairly quiet. The lighting is pretty good, which is rare these days. It's basic but clean and everything worked. It's fine for an overnight during a road trip.

The room was clean and spacious. There were ample channels on the TV from which to choose. I enjoyed that there was a nearby lake to which I could walk to "wind down." Parking was right in front of my room.

A safe, quiet, very clean basic room for a quick overnight sleep on a car trip. Property is older but everything in the room had been upgraded with the exception of the bathtub, and everything worked well. Proprietors are pleasant, and there weren't any shady people, loud people, or party people around. Nice views of Somerset from the hilltop outside the motel. As of Feb 2023 there is major construction (not related to this property) around the driveway entrance, and driveway is narrow and steep, so be careful driving if you are arriving after dark.

This property was exceptionally good. Old, but very clean. Spacious room with seating area. King size bed was comfortable. Air conditioning worked great. No coffee in the rooms but they had it in the office. Refrigerator and microwave in the room. No amenities but we were just passing through. Owners were very nice. Definitely recommend and will stay again.

I've been staying at this place for several years because of the low rates, but especially because of the mini fridge. I was on vacation, and that made it perfect to go over to the nearby Sheetz for a beer run. I would recommend this motel to anyone staying in Somerset. The rooms were clean and spacious, and it was a home away from home.

Glad I read the glowing reviews of this little hilltop motel. Sure it's a little dated from the outside, and you may wonder what you're getting into, but if you're on a budget and would rather spend your vacation money on other things than overpriced hotels, then give this place a go. The room was spotless, the bathroom sparkling clean and updated. No musty, icky odors like some older places. The windows on the back looked over a grassy hill, where we watched a baby bunny nibbling on a flower. We were also given a 10% off coupon for a Pine Grill restaurant in town that turned out to be really good! My only issue with the Dollar Inn was that the beds were a tad bit on the hard side, but not too bad. All in all a fine little spot to spend a night.

The best cheap hotel you could ask for. Clean, quiet. The bed was pretty good. Room has a microwave and fridge but no coffee. If your goal is to spend the least on a decent nights rest, this is it.

For the price we got a clean and quiet room right off the highway in an area where there was plenty of eateries, etc. I wasn’t expecting luxury and didn’t get it but we still had a good stay with an emphasis, again, on clean and quiet. There is no complimentary breakfast if that floats your boat but there is a cute diner down the road that was good and very reasonable. There was no coffeemaker in the room either. And no box of tissues which would have been appreciated. Even though it is an old fashioned pull your car to the door kind of motel, it was far off the road and was very much silent at night. All that said we’d use it again if in the area. Owner/manager could have been a bit friendlier. It doesn’t hurt to smile.

So many bad motels lately, this one is fantastic. All the basics were perfect: shower good, strong and hot, bed and linens good, Wifi worked fine, AC new and sufficient, far from the Interstate noise, enough off the local road to minimize it's noise, very close to gas and food, easy to get to (though the entrance requires a sharp eye). there was a simple alarm clock and phone in the room, along with a fridge and microwave. Minimal, but that's just what one wants when arriving midway on a long road trip. No coffee in room, but free coffee and ice at the desk. I was so happy I left a large tip.
