It is a non-smoking hotel. smoking areas are set on two floors. We are non-smokers but we are assigned to stay on the floor with smoking areas. The corridor is with the smell, which makes me very uncomfortable.

First time in Japan, travelled as a couple from Busan, South Korea. Pros: 1. Excellent location for first time in Fukuoka. Easily walkable to Hakata and Tenjin too. Nakasu has lots of good food options, Tenjin has excellent shopping. Safe to walk at night. 2. Hotel room reasonably priced for 4 star hotel. Loved the Toto bidet toilet. Rooftop onsen was a revelation, so peaceful and relaxing. 3. Staff were all very helpful and friendly. All my requests were cheerfully and efficiently done. 4. Room colour palette was almost boudoir-like; very romantic if that is your cup of tea. 5. Fukuoka subways are incredibly efficient, comfortable, safe, and affordable compared to London Underground. Cons: 1. Be aware discreet red light district adjacent to some Nakasu hotels, though none visible near Mitsui Garden Hotel Nakasu Fukuoka. 2. Lots to do in Fukuoka. We only barely scratched the surface during our two day stay.

The staff, who handle the first and last impressions of the hotel, were all very friendly. Although the lobby felt a bit small relative to the hotel's scale, the pleasant fragrance upon entering and the pleasantly cool temperature made it feel refreshing. Even though there were only two elevators, I never had to wait long. The room condition was great. While I was disappointed that the amenities were refillable (I understand it's a growing trend due to recent eco-friendly policies, but I find it rather unhygienic and hope they revert to single-use items), the quality of the products was satisfying. The strong water pressure was a huge help in washing away my fatigue. However, it was inconvenient that the showerhead holders in both the room and the public bath didn't hold the showerheads firmly. Fixing a showerhead holder doesn't seem like a major task, so I hope it gets resolved soon. The bedding was comfortable, allowing me to sleep soundly, and the soundproofing was excellent, making the room very quiet. The public bath was truly top-notch. Although compact in size, it was well-equipped with everything needed, and the interior design was beautiful, providing a truly healing experience. Thanks to all this, I enjoyed a fatigue-free trip. Thank you! And the location is top-notch, too!
