Walked in to find a cockroach crawling around, went down to the front desk to ask them to deal with that and do a check of the room or see if we could get a different room, and the man at the front desk told us, “your in Queensland your bound to find bugs”. Which was quite frustrating considering we had been here for over 10 days and that was the first bug we had found, and definitely the first one inside of our hotel room. Also, there was approximately a 1-1.5 inch rise entering the bathroom and there was no indication anywhere of the floor elevation change. We both banged our feet pretty hard on that and had to wear our shoes. Overall, not a good experience.

Not much else in the area apart from a couple hotels, petrol station and a pub. Hotel is right across the street from a busy pub and a dog racing track. Dog track wasn't operational the night I was there but I can imagine it being busy.

Over all was a great place to stay. I was on the 6th floor and had poor internet to stream on the TV, this was the only source for watching anything. The A/C could not be set any lower than 20 degrees which I found to be on the warm side.

We were there for Eagle Farm race track, so a 10min uber ride. Brekky Creek Hotel just across the road is a huge bonus as not a lot else around. Make sure you book before to get a table. Not the most picturesque area to be but it was fantastic for us. We did the 3 bedroom and it was perfect with 3 king beds - pool was nice too next to their gym
