Lovely Pub restaurant/B&B with large beer garden. Very popular spot for lunch/dinner. Good local beer and has a proper bar area - it is not just food!. I had a lovely authentic tasting thai red curry - very very good. Also has three rooms (maybe four) nicely decorated, with excellent shower etc. for B&B. Breakfast was massive with quality produce. Highly recommended for stay, or a meal or for a few beers... .

Stayed 1 night Saturday to Sunday. Free carpark, plenty of spaces. Check in was smooth, room was clean and well presented. Nice little extra touches like hot chocolate and toiletries provided. We ate here for evening meal, food was delicious and portion was very generous. Would recommend contacting to book a table as it was very busy and to ask if there is any entertainment on. We could hear the singer from our room, but that wasn't an issue for us. The free breakfast lived up to expectations having read various reviews. Plenty to choose from on the menu. Opted for the full English and it didn't disappoint. Excellent quality, generous portion size and perfectly cooked. Thank you for a lovely stay.

There are 3 rooms (Cow, Sheep & Pig) and I was allocated Pig. The room was adequate rather than spacious but everything was comfortable and the bathroom had a good shower. There is ample parking and the Inn serves a great evening meal in the conservatory behind the lively bar. Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would be happy to return.

Always a warm friendly welcome at The Sun Inn! Room was clean and comfortable, great choice of local ales and beers at the bar. Had a great evening meal, service was good from a polite and friendly waitress! Breakfast be it full English or omelettes( I tried both) is outstanding! Will definitely be staying again and highly recommended

The staff was amazing! The our room was above the restaurant / pub filled with locals and good cheer. The provided breakfast in the morning was oh so good! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating.

Stayed one night as it is close to my old school for a reunion. I stayed in the Pig Room. Apparently being in a farming area, each room has an animal instead of a room number. To all those who have stayed in the Pig Room, you will understand. The shelving is in the wrong place as is the TV. Swop the TV and shelving around and your guests would not have to strain to see the TV. Also the TV is painfully small. My biggest complaint was the bed. It was so low. Almost a futon. OK for young people but anyone over 65 who is not physically fit, you have no chance standing up and getting out and off the bed. Not great at all.

The sun inn was the ideal place for us as a couple. The room was clean and comfortable and had all we needed. The staff especially Dan were helpful and interested at all times. The food was amazing including a lovely breakfast. The atmosphere in the bar was friendly and locals chatted with us. All in all highly recommended. Thanks for a great stay .

Having read some of the other reviews regarding noise at the end of the day you’re staying at the pub what should you expect? I stayed in the cow room. Every time somebody use a hand dryer in the toilet downstairs, you heard it The other thing to bear in mind is our situated on a main road, so of course you’re gonna hear traffic noise They do only have three rooms here, but the service they give you a 2nd to none Dan was very professional in her, greeted me up on my arrival and throughout my stay and experience And you even get a free breakfast which is well worth it as a breakfast is absolutely lovely and cooked fresh The only thing I found a little annoying for myself was the fact I had no desk in the room to do any work from but other than that would definitely go back

From check in to check out, staff were really friendly. As a solo traveller I felt safe at all times. The pub itself seemed very friendly. The breakfast was lovely and the chef was very accomodating, cooking my order to my request. Would certainly stay again.

Shame about the cheap (sticky?) Lino on the bathroom floor and pillows not the best, but other than that, good for the price. Handy for exploring Ellesmere and other meres in the area. Everything you need, good value and nice pub.

Really lovely pub in a great friendly village setting. Food was amazing (the type you would make a bee line for if I was in the area again!). Rooms were pleasantly well appointed, with everything thing you would need, but would probably give another pillow option. The only slightly disappointing thing was that due to the rural setting there would be tractors passing very early in the morning. Probably wouldn’t have disturbed me if I didn’t need to have the windows open as it was so hot. All round though an excellent choice for anyone.

The pub is in a village of Welsh Hampton, about 4 miles east if Ellesmere. We had a warm welcome when we arrived at10pm. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely, a good choice and good portions.

Really pleasant pub, great beer, food was good. Room was pleasant, for us a bit noisy because of traffic, given window overlooked road and needing to be open due to warm weather. Breakfast was really excellent.

Lovely overnight stay! Friendly staff and great atmosphere. Room was big enough for a single person or a couple. Breakfast was really tasty and filling! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if needed!

Lovely friendly place, only have three rooms but really take care of you. The bar is very popular with local and known for the quality of food. I had an excellent meal in the evening and the breakfast which was included in the room price was real nice with quality fresh produce.
