Trivelles Rochester Hotel

The hotel was very clean but basic. Bed comfortable. Bathroom was small but modern. We were on the top floor with no lifts which might be a problem for older people but was fine . We was given a key card which could get us in and out of the hotel at anytime . The hotel suited are needs for a very nice stay .the hotel is right by strood station but i didnt get bothered by train noise.

Where you park its a bit of a walk to the hotel. Street was dirty and sidewalk had lots of flytipped goods. The room was lovely but a bit noisy and warm. I was quite disappointed that there was no lift as i had to take my suitecase up 3 flights of stairs.

Clean and smart room. Convenient location. Can park on-road from 4pm to 10am (taking 2 hours free parking into account). Not good for business travellers as were unable to provide me with a valid invoice.

The room is tidy & spacious. There's a large paid car park behind the hotel but the entrance & exit is really narrow,, not recommend for large cars. The staff is friendly & helpful.

This hotel is really a B&B, so don't expect a chain hotel's vibe or amenities. That said, I would recommend this a budget option. The rooms are small but clean and the beds were comfortable. You will have to walk up a couple flights of stairs as there is no elevator. We did not use the continental breakfast on offer. The owners kept us supplied with tea and coffee for the kettle in the room. The two gentlemen were very nice and accommodating, and allowed us to store our luggage prior to check-in. While the area initially appears sketchy, it is actually a commercial/residential neighborhood in a very convenient location. The Strood rail station is a block away (trains into London), and there is an Aldi about a 5 minutes walk and a shopping center (M&S, Poundland, Starbucks) about 10 minutes away. Then you can walk across the beautiful bridge to the Rochester Castle, the High Street (LOTS of shops and restaurants) and the Cathedral in 10 more minutes. This hotel is a good *budget* option to use as a home base for the Rochester/Chatham area.

Parking in local car park problematic. Managed to park outside hotel, but, had to vacate before 07:00 in morning.

I received a friendly welcome on arrival. Check-in was quick. The room was spacious, and quirky in its layout. There were plenty of plug spckets in the room including a usb socket close to the bed for charging my phone. I was in a room on the 3rd floor, and theres no lift, so traipsing up and down all the stairs was frustrating. The room was clean, but dated in appearance. The hotel is ideally located a few min walk from the train station and centre of town. My room was facing the train station so it was quite noisy, and theres no views from the windows.

Although fairly clean in the room the bathroom smelled musty and the kettle was really dirty Parking is up the street in a general car park

Tried to check in just before 4pm but room not ready. Had to wait c15 minutes. Upon opening the bedroom door hit by over powering smell of cleaning products. Way too strong - had to open windows. Description does say parking is available but doesn’t clarify it’s a public car park which is chargeable. Location doesn’t look great but very convenient for attending event at Rochester Castle.

Claims to be in Rochester but actually in Stroud. Very odd set up. No parking and parking nearby felt unsafe

I wasn’t expecting much as it was not expensive but I was pleased with the cleanliness.

Room smelt of smoke so i opened the window and went down to inform staff. When i complained they stated the smoke was coming from outside in on which was absurd since i was on the second floor. Shower was leaking and the guy on the front desk refused to provide a seperate room inspite of the entire bathroom floor flooding. Finally agreed to provide an alternative room which magically became available which had 1 of 4 spotlights workings. More light was available from the bathroom. Also do not expect a working tv no signal

When arriving at the hotel, it looked very tired, and wasn’t in the greatest area, surprisingly our car was still in one piece the next morning, It is situated next to a train station which can be fairly noisy. Reception was clean and staff nice and helpful. Our room was an ok size and bed was comfortable, but no mattress protector! Also bedside shelf/table broken, everything slid off. Skirting boards weren’t cleaned, hardly any spot lights working, shower cubicle could do with a proper scrub and a cupboard full of half used loo rolls which weren’t clean wasn’t great, the room was so so hot I can’t describe just how warm it was, could have done with a fan, wouldn’t return.

The hotel location is very close to the train station. The two gentlemen, front desk and the housekeeper are very helpful. The room is clean. We had great time staying there.

Easy to find hotel, a nice welcome from hotel staff. Room very clean, lovely comfy bed for the price & usual tea/coffee. Used shower did take a while to get hot obviously might just be that 1 time. Overall i'd give 8/10, certainly matches more expensive in the area. Will definitely look to stay again when in the area. Short walk into Rochester & Chatham about 25min walkaway.

Very clean and modern hotel with friendly staff.

I have never had such a bad hotel experience! I was in the bed and felt damp - lifting up the sheets and mattress protector the mattress was covered in urine. It was a few days old and stank. The staff tried to deny this was urine, looking at the perfect white ceiling and claiming a leak. We were ushered into another tiny, unsuitable room with no apology. It was truly distressing. I have sent pictures and a request for refund/ compensation and await a response.

Welcoming staff and clean, tidy rooms renovated not long ago. Excellent value - very happy considering the price paid!

Room needed a coat of paint, tap was too small to fill a kettle, toilet seat was broken.

Relatively basic hotel, next to Stroud station, check in was smooth and room was a little noisy due to proximity of station. Disappointing that the floor below us appeared to be smoking in the room as it permeated the hotel on our return, but overall the room did its job

Me and my parther stayed there for a weekend away it served its purpose well but just a few minor things like the shower pressure is terrible takes ages to warm up and longer to was as the showers are very slow some of the fixtures in the room were not in properly fixed to the wall such as the bottom of the door frame to our bathroom other than that bed was comfy room was clean the complementary soap and shampoos were good overall okay it serves well for a weekend away

Room as described. It was quieter than I expected despite being by a road, and comfortable. It is conveniently near Strood railway station which is well supplied with trains from Rochester in the evenings, so you can spend an evening in Rochester and then get the train back. I didn't try the breakfast delivery option but walked into Rochester instead (about 20 mins walk).

Whole experience of staying at the hotel was good and everything was in walkable distance but do bear in mind train station is just opposite of the hotel and it will be really loud during the day and night time. Overall it was great experience but because of the train noise, my girlfriend and I couldn’t sleep soundly for the first night.

Good for one night, be aware there is a train station next to Hotel, not a main line but start at 5am, noisy

I stayed on the 3rd floor. The room looked fine, but the WiFi didn't work, the TV reception was rubbish, the squealing noise coming from the trains at the nearby station kept me awake all night. Also, on a rather sinister note there appeared to be a not so well hidden camera in the ceiling next to a light fitting 😱 I wanted to discuss with the management but there was no one on reception when I left.

Comfortable and convenient. Friendly and helpful staff. Just a good all round hotel and I always feel safe staying there alone or with my family. Close to Strood station and only a short walk to Rochester. Will always choose to use this hotel when visiting Medway.

Simple, convenient and welcoming. It was everything needed for the visit. Room was small but perfectly fine. The kettle didn't work but a quick word to the reception and it was replaced straight away so excellent customer service.

Excellent location close to Strood railway station and 15 minute walk to Rochester Castle and High Street. The reception staff are super friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again when in the area. Great value for money.

It was advertised as b&b, it was just a room with onsuite, only cleaned 1 of the 3 days booked.Reception was only manned after 11am & often no-one was there. The surrounding area was run down & a cafe for food was a good 5-10 minute walk but brilliant service with a smile and huge quantity of great food.

Management and staff were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is in a less than desirable part of town.

Should say Strood rather than Rochester as so close to Strood railway station, would have been handy to get out of the train there. Other guests had the same issue.

we were very happy with the hotel , our room was at the top it was quiet and warm and a decent size .The hotel was in 10 mins walking distance from the town ,Castle and cathedral , we came to vist the Victorian Christmas fair. The gentleman on the desk was very friendly and polite. The only down side was the surrounding area was it was dirty and rough , but we did not let this spoil our vist

Very reasonably priced, comfortable bed and nice shower. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Good location near the train station and a short walk to Rochester Castle. Only negative, just wish we could have opened the window a little more to let cool air in at night, it was unseasonably hot weather so wouldn’t be a problem most of the time. Overall recommend this hotel.

At the back of Strood station, somewhat unpleasant area but fine once you're in the hotel. Aldi nearby (2-3min walk) and generally ok. The hotel itself is tired but they've cleaned it to within an inch of its life, so that was good. No bar or restaurant & must use the lift. Reception people could barely speak English but they were polite enough. The room floorboards creaked a lot. A LOT.

Possibly the worst hotel I have stayed in. Cleanliness is non existant, walls are paper thin, I could hear the people having a conversation in the room next to me. Flies everywhere in the 'breakfast area'. Unable to upload photos.
