This is a gorgeous place! The cabin is comfortable, the host is friendly and the grounds are beautiful. We enjoyed the private hot tub and having the little calves right next door! Also—-the star gazing swings were amazing. Loved all the flowers too. Great stay—thank you!

Te Mahuru Tetreat is a jewel in Kaikoura’s crown. A perfect location, easy to get to and not far out of Kaikōura itself. The accommodation provides a high standard of facilities and is immaculate. It provided everything we need for our stay and the use of the hot tub and do some star gazing is phenomenal - a must if you are staying at Te Mahuru Retreat. Nothing is too much for the host and the breakfast is well catered. We had a very comfortable and relaxing staying, the only thing is we wished we had stayed for longer. You will not be disappointed and would highly recommend this accommodation if you are staying in Kaikoura and the surrounding area.

The hosts were warm and friendly. Breakfast was good & plentiful. Hot tub was easy to use & very relaxing. Lovely gardens that are beautifully maintained. A bit of a distance from Kaikōura so glad we had a car.

Lovely room overlooking gorgeous gardens and places to relax. The owner, Jen, told me TE MAHURU means a place of rest and renewal, and that it was. Hosts are fantastic and the place is perfect for serenity. We really enjoyed the hot tub and star- gazing too, as this spot is one of only 23 designated Dark Sky observation spots in the world. Truly a unique and lovely experience all around. Good breakfast too.

Es besteht aus wenig Gästezimmern, die dezent dekoriert und praktisch eingerichtet sind. Durch die großen Fensterfronten, die meist zum sehr gepflegten Garten hin ausgerichtet sind, hat man einen schönen Ausblick. Jen, die Inhaberin, ist sehr freundlich, gut informiert und den Gästen auch sehr zugewandt. Sie hat alles im Blick und im Griff. Ihr Frühstücksbüffet ist liebevoll zusammengestellt. Gegessen wird an großen Tischen, so dass auch ein (Info-)Austausch zwischen den Gästen zustandekommen kann. Alles wunderbar familiär. Zwei Hot Tubes können genutzt werden. Auch das trägt zur Entspannung bei. Erwähnenswert ist auch die Möglichkeit, Wäsche zu waschen und einen Trockner zu benutzen. Eine Küche steht den Gästen zur Verfügung. The gardens and views were spectacular, the hot tubs were lovely and very clean and the breakfast was delicious. Homemade bread each morning and plenty of great choices. The patio off our room was very private and comfortable for sitting with a cup of tea gazing at the beautiful mountains in the background. Overall, this was our favorite place to stay on our trip.

We liked everything about our stay. There is nothing to add really. Jen's information on where to go to see seals was 10/10 as was all her kindness in organising a special birthday which really made our trip. All in all this is a special place to stay. Highly reccomended

Te Mahuru is a most exceptional, beautiful, very clean and overall, a perfect place to stay. Jen went out of her way to be accommodating and we give thanks t the highest rating possible. The gardens and views were spectacular, the hot tubs were lovely and very clean and the breakfast was delicious. Homemade bread each morning and plenty of great choices. The patio off our room was very private and comfortable for sitting with a cup of tea gazing at the beautiful mountains in the background. Overall, this was our favorite place to stay on our trip.

Im schönen Neuseeland ist dieses B&B ein eher seltenes Fundstück. Es liegt nur wenige hundert Meter von der SH 1 entfernt und trotzdem hört man nur naturnahe Geräusche. Jen, die Inhaberin, ist sehr freundlich, gut informiert und den Gästen auch sehr zugewandt. Sie hat alles im Blick und im Griff. Ihr Frühstücksbüffet ist liebevoll zusammengestellt. Gegessen wird an großen Tischen, so dass auch ein (Info-)Austausch zwischen den Gästen zustandekommen kann. Alles wunderbar familiär. Zwei Hot Tubes können genutzt werden. Auch das trägt zur Entspannung bei. Erwähnenswert ist auch die Möglichkeit, Wäsche zu waschen und einen Trockner zu benutzen. Eine Küche steht den Gästen zur Verfügung. In diesem Retreat kann man wirklich eine schöne Zeit verbringen.

Truly an awesome place to stay. Friendly and welcoming hosts, beautiful gardens, super well equipped rooms and two superb spa pools to relax in. Also handy is the lovely Irish pub and restaurant 5 minutes walk away. I highly recommend this accommodation.
