The room (a studio) was in excellent condition and it was very comfortable. The staff are very friendly and attentive. The location is wonderful. My only concerns are: 1) The breakfast buffet needs to have more vegan options. We live in a globalized world where people have all sorts of dietary requirements and veganism is quite prevalent. 2) The system in the spa could be better. Most spas welcome people, lead them to a changing room where they can get in a robe and then they are led to their treatment room. Here, they expect you to come all ready for a treatment and provide no towels or robes unless requested. In my opinion this should be a given. Other than this, I highly recommend this property.

Tres tres bel hotel et les suites ont une vue vraiment extraordinaires . L hôtel m’a énormément plu pour sa décoration et le goût très élégant et intemporel. Au niveau de la réception excellents professionnels. Les saunas m ont énormément pou et la vue depuis la piscine est superbe. Je dirais que le seul petit défaut c est que il y a un côté froid et que si on aime se sentir à la maison ce n ‘est pas un choix. En ce qui me concerne j ai été complètement subjuguée par ma vue depuis ma suite et que j y ai dîné chaque soir tellement la vue était incroyable.

Absolutely loved our stay at Alvear Art and would stay again. The location is great- walking distance to bars and restaurants as well as a lavanderia, nail salon, etc. Felt slightly less touristy than some areas, which was a good thing, and safe to walk around. Gym and pool on top floor have a beautiful view of city and the pool is climatized, so nice in the winter. I had a massage and loved it. Rooms are nice- well organized closets with some very slight signs of wear in bathroom and curtains. But standout is service- they were able to accommodate any request (early check in, etc) and all the desk and restaurant staff were helpful and nice. Highly recommend.

I had a very long flight from Dubai to buenos Aires, by the time I checked into the hotel and my room it was already pretty late. Weather wise it was really cold and I had set the thermostat in the room and fell asleep the following day I fell ill as the heating was not working! And the room was literally freezing. I had raised this with front desk and the room was changed. There was no sympathy, and when escalated the mood and attitude of staff was really off.

I’ve stayed at this property a few times and found it to be well kept; however a few things in the room could have been better. The bathroom toilet flushing system is faulty, you have to press on the lever consistently for sufficient water to flow; the safe did now work, the carpets appear like they need to be updated, and the air conditioning was not working well. Nonetheless, the staff is friendly and very helpful.

We arrived very early in the morning, like 9AM, ans we received service by Rami Polite, correct but zero friendly, we asked for a early check in and he keept us until 3PM like othe customers Finally gave us a room with a huge smell of cigarrete We complaint and he kept for 15 minutes waiting to send someone of housekeeping to put some air cleaner We didn't accept and we were moved to a new room Anyway was an unacceptable situation Seems that if you are a, Expedia customer, you are less than a customer Bad for Rami, bad for Alvear

The bar tender, Augusto, is very nice too!! We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. I would stay here again next time we visit Buenos Aires.

The security staff atairport as well at hotel upon check in to remove all our jewelry and not to go out with anything valuable. We did go for a walk to the Galerias 10 min not many people on streets. Although the ones there other than tourists were dumpster diving or on their way somewhere. Smelled very strongly of urine along the walk. A lot of stores were closed up tight and rebarred. Few were open. More traffic around the mall area. We walked up one street away from mall most stores closed same convenience or cheap souvenir places open. We walked for an hour only asked for money once. Felt safe but of course were not. When we came home at 1230 after a dinner and Tango show streets were dead, on a friday night. We saw only a hanful of people. Hotel is safe clean, staff amazing. Watch the marble floors in bathroom very slippery when wet. Now off we go on our Antarctica cruise. I will be back on our return

Hotel ótimo. Localização perfeita. Quarto ótimo. Limpeza boa. Mas o café da manhã deixa a desejar, pagamos separado e quando chegamos pouquíssimas variedades. Fomos pedir ovo e omelete e eram cobrados a parte. Em nenhum lugar do mundo quando paga-se café separado esse tipo de alimento é cobrado. O café pode melhorar 100% já que é cobrado a parte e um valor bem acima.

A once great five-star hotel in gradual decline. One bottle of water in the room, one glass, and slow decline in facilities. The most, and most obvious offender, is the breakfast. Once the trademark of the hotel, it is now nothing more than a fruit bar with several hot dishes. If you want eggs or meat, you must put in an order for the chief to prepare. Unfortunately, when your order arrives, the portion is miniscule. For $35.00, one would expect more. The front desk staff, although pleasant and helpful, tries to maintain the false illusion of what they think a five-star hotel should project. If you're expecting a five-star experience for your money, I would respectfully suggest going elsewhere. After all you paid for it...
