We stayed here on a Wednesday. For the price, our room was nice, with a private bathroom, 2 beds, a large window, free wifi, and a tv. Our room was quiet, clean, and the towels were large and fluffy. The room was small but it had a closet and in-room safe (which we did not use). The hotel is on the 2nd floor of the building and you need to press a button marked "la Macarena" next to the outside door to be allowed into the building. You then go up the elevator to the 2nd floor. Everything you need is nearby and walkable. The front desk is open 24 hours. We enjoyed our stay.

It's nothing fancy but we were happy with it. Small room but had good closet space. Bathroom was tiny (one person at time) but tub/shower was roomy enough. Beds were comfortable (we had two twins). It was quiet for our stay Tues & Wed. A/C was good and had a ceiling fan. Staff is on duty 24 hours. They were very nice and helpful. The night before we left they arranged to have a cab for us early the next morning to go to the airport. (which is a flat fee of 30 euros) Great location near the Mercado and Plaza Mayor. We went to the Flamenco show right across the street and really enjoyed it.

If you are conversational in Spanish an want a quaint place situated in the center of Madrid then I highly recommend staying at this accommodation. You are less than 10 minutes away from the Sol Metro and 3 min walk to the San Miguel Market. However, the rooms are located on the 3rd floor of the building and the entrance to the 3rd floor is always locked. Therefore we often had to go to the 2nd floor to ask the receptionist to open the door which was pretty inconvenient if you go in and out all day. Multiple the dining options around and historical sites are walkable. Recommend if traveling with young adults vs elderly.

It was a great find. It is close to everything in Centro Madrid. The room was very small but has a lot of character. It was clean, quaint and charming. The balcóny is adorable. I was very happy with it. Practical, cute and great price. There is also a place near where you can store your bags. I would definitely go back.

Un hotel muy recomendado, el personal fue muy amable. El hotel contaba con aire acondicionado, lo cual fue muy util para el duro verano en madrid, buen baño y la habitacion contaba con un pequeño balcon. Muy cercano a sitios de interes turistico. La habitacion no contaba con refrigerador, aunque es algo que note que los hoteles europeos no tienen.

Very friendly staff an owner. The hostel is open 24hrs so they hold your key when you go which makes a very safe place. Great location and right next the Plaza Mayor.

The hostal is conveniently situated, being very close to the Plaza Mayor and numerous good bars and restaurants. Although it is on the second floor, there is a lift. We found the staff welcoming, friendly and helpful; communication was wholly in Spanish. The room and facilities were spotlessly clean, with good air conditioning. The only disadvantage was occasional loud noise from a nearby room.

Great place to travel solo or a couple, steps to Plaza Mayor, right next to the stairs. Clean place, old building but charm, and the most important thing to say the shower was great the preasure of the water and heat ! Sometimes is difficult to find in this kind of Hostal even Hotels

全体的に満足です！ 特にスタッフの方がとても親切で過ごしやすかったです。 足回りの良い場所なのでとても便利でした。 お部屋の備品ですが、ドライヤーも風量のある熱風が出ました！ ティッシュペーパーは置いていなかったので、近くのスーパーで買ってくるなどした方がいいかもしれません。 お部屋についているトイレのドアが壊れていて閉まらなかったのが少し困りました。 また、ホテルは悪くありませんが、深夜から明け方にかけて嘔吐している方の声が響いていたのも少し気になりました(心配になる程続いていたので、目が覚めてしまいました)。

hope to never stay in this place again. The room just smells like a dumpster either with the open window or the AC running you can get the smell out. The bathroom is extremely small and awkward with mold on the walls. The AC makes a strange bubbling sound. Also, the thermostat is not really working so if you turn on the AC at night, it will keep on cooling their room for the entire night. Not sure who lives upstairs, but they started vacuuming randomly at 1 AM for like 30 minutes . Location is great but the way the room stinks does not justify it. It is just disgusting.

Perfect location just 2 mins from San Miguel Food market and the local squares. Within 20-30 mins walk of most other locations on our list. The staff were friendly and helpful. We weren’t planning on spending too much time in our room, so although basic, it was very clean and comfortable, so perfect for our stay.

This hostel is surrounded with lot of restaurants and bars and is quite buzzing. And many tour busses gather people near this place so location wise it worked out well. But otherwise, the hotel or hostel was a bit rundown. I had no issues with smaller rooms. But the maintenance especially like bathrooms were so dated. The first room given to us was quite smelly (apparently a restaurant kitchen is downstairs as other reviews have noted). So we changed to another room,where the bathroom/toilet broke a few times. The bathroom didn't even have a bath roll holder.

Upon arrival, a clerk said that part of payment was not done despite of inputting my credit card info. at the reservation several weeks ago. He, the clerk, said later that my payment was fine without saying any apology. Poor management on the payment transaction. Plus a shower unit is too small for 6 foot tall guy. Never visit again.

Loved the location since it as very central to everything! Anna was always kind and helpful in so many ways...really appreciated her kindness. It was rather noisy at night with outside deliveries which is not fault of the hotel. The mattress was rather hard so it was difficult to get a good nights sleep. Very clean and charming room...not too small at all. All in all would still stay here again

Small room but well facilitated. Perfect for a short stay where a bed, toilet and shower are required. Lots of street noise including a very noisy manhole cover overnight, but apart from this the hotel fitted the bill perfectly

O hotel é muito bom, gostei muito do quarto. O banheiro era um pouco apertado, mas nada que me atrapalhasse. A única ressalva é que fiquei no quarto do lado da recepção e todo barulho, como passos e conversas, pareciam estar dentro do quarto. A localização também é ótima, ao lado da Plaza Mayor e diversos restaurantes.

The room was small, but had a charm and a comfy bed and they gave me a little balcony that looked over to the 400 year-old courtyard and each and every member that worked there were just the kindest nicest people. I had a lovely time I wanna bring back my parents.

The Hotel was in a brilliant location and great value for money. Although a little dated, it had great charm including a delightful covered balcony. The staff were charming and helpful and check-in/check-out easy and convenient. Will happily return if in Madrid again.

De kamer is netjes en van alles voorzien maar hou er rekening mee dat ze klein zijn. Het is een oud pand en wat gehorig dus daarom misschien niet zo geschikt voor de lichte en vroege slapers maar wij hebben nergens last van gehad en prima geslapen. Het enige minpunt is dat de receptie geen engels spreekt maar ze zijn wel zeer vriendelijk. Kortom de prijskwaliteit niveau maakt dit hotelletje een uitstekende keuze.

The hostal is conveniently situated, being very close to the Plaza Mayor and numerous good bars and restaurants. Although it is on the second floor, there is a lift. We found the staff welcoming, friendly and helpful; communication was wholly in Spanish. The room and facilities were spotlessly clean, with good air conditioning. The only disadvantage was occasional loud noise from a nearby room.

Perfect location just 2 mins from San Miguel Food market and the local squares. Within 20-30 mins walk of most other locations on our list. The staff were friendly and helpful. We weren’t planning on spending too much time in our room, so although basic, it was very clean and comfortable, so perfect for our stay.

The room was small, but had a charm and a comfy bed and they gave me a little balcony that looked over to the 400 year-old courtyard and each and every member that worked there were just the kindest nicest people. I had a lovely time I wanna bring back my parents.

The Hotel was in a brilliant location and great value for money. Although a little dated, it had great charm including a delightful covered balcony. The staff were charming and helpful and check-in/check-out easy and convenient. Will happily return if in Madrid again.

Great hostal in amazing area close to all the tourist attractions. Friendly reception. Lots of bars and restaurants close by. Private bathroom facilities although room a little on the small side. Great value and would definitely stay again.

If you are conversational in Spanish an want a quaint place situated in the center of Madrid then I highly recommend staying at this accommodation. You are less than 10 minutes away from the Sol Metro and 3 min walk to the San Miguel Market. However, the rooms are located on the 3rd floor of the building and the entrance to the 3rd floor is always locked. Therefore we often had to go to the 2nd floor to ask the receptionist to open the door which was pretty inconvenient if you go in and out all day. Multiple the dining options around and historical sites are walkable. Recommend if traveling with young adults vs elderly.

O hotel é muito bom, gostei muito do quarto. O banheiro era um pouco apertado, mas nada que me atrapalhasse. A única ressalva é que fiquei no quarto do lado da recepção e todo barulho, como passos e conversas, pareciam estar dentro do quarto. A localização também é ótima, ao lado da Plaza Mayor e diversos restaurantes.

perfect location,few steps from plaza mayor.. very close to all the restaurants that we wanted to try including Botin,Revuelta,La Campana,, Gines chocolateria and many more. There are also restaurants on the street level of the hotel building. there are 2 metro stations nearby(La Latina & Tirso de Molina stations). Madrid is a very walkable city

You can't get a better location! And the stuff was really helpful. The rooms are very cozy. You have mercado San Miguel right there and the all the good stuff. 100% recommended. We went for our daughter 21st birthday and we had a blast! We will for sure stay here if we go back on another time!

Very central location and very quiet location. Helpful staff. I was put off as I had messaged the hotel 3 times before travelling and didn't receive any replies which gave me cause for concern. In the end all was fine though.

Unbeatable location, with plenty of places to eat on the same street. Close to everything, less than a minute from the San Miguel Market, and just across the street is the Plaza Mayor. For easy reference, it's opposite the Cueva de Luis Candela. We thank all the staff for their friendliness and helpfulness, especially Luis; our stay wouldn't have been so enjoyable without his assistance. We would definitely return.
Unbeatable location, with plenty of places to eat on the same street. Close to everything, less than a minute from the San Miguel Market, and just across the street is the Plaza Mayor.
