This hotel is located right on the ring road but far enough removed that you don't hear any traffic. Parking is not a problem as there is a lot of space available. The staff is friendly and the rooms are spaceous. The only thing we missed in the room is a kettle but in the lobby you can get your own coffee, tea or hot chocolate and you can take the cup back to your room which solves the missing kettle. We would definitely recommend this location as a quiet place to spend the night.

What a great medium sized hotel, centered on horses but great for anyone, very near a great hotsprings hike. Excellent food. comfy lobby with coffee, tea, cookies. Very friendly staff

All the rooms are on the ground level, which makes it easy to come and go. Wonderful breakfast with many options, even dried fruit. We enjoyed seeing the horses. Downside is the halls are tile, which was extremely noisy for rolled suitcases. Even with earplugs, I did not sleep well. Hot tub was not open during convenient hours.

2nd time staying here, so I knew what to expect. The only difference this time was that one out of the 2 hot tubs was working. It was open from 4pm-10pm and was being used, i didn’t use it though. I would stay again.

Restaurant was excellent and offered a generous selection for the free breakfast (TIP: book a dinner reservation before checking in, if you can). Tea and coffee station was appreciated. Note: there was no microwave or fridge in the room (which was tough if you have a cooler full of food for the rest of your travels).

The room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful with many options! The room could have been a bit cleaner. There was hair on the blanket and also on the shower wall, as if this had not been cleaned so well. The walls are also a bit thin, so make sure to bring ear plugs or use a white noise machine. The hot tub was a nice amenity as well. Overall a decent stay.

On arrival, the rooms were spotless, and the beds were comfortable. There is no coffee or tea in the rooms, but they are available for free (with cookies :-) ) at the reception seating area. Housekeeping is limited to asking if you need any clean towels, rooms aren't cleaned, and beds aren't made, which is a bit strange for a hotel. We asked if there was any service to inform us of the Northern lights. We were only told that the reception closes at 10 PM and that they might appear and disappear very quickly. The next morning at breakfast another guest told us he had seen the lights, and an app had alerted him... we now have that app, bit disappointed that the reception didn't suggest this.

This hotel is centered around equestrian life. It rained most of the time we were there so we didn’t see much of the area. The hotel is heated with geothermal. Our room was hot with no way to cool it. We couldn’t leave the door open because of the rain and the possibility of unwanted entry by humans or animals. The window would not stay open. Other than the heat issue, the hotel was good for our purposes.

Our room was cold. The heat did not work despite claims by the staff that by turning up the thermostat, the floor would heat up. It did not. We had to leave the door open so that the heat from the hallway would warm the room but this was limited since everyone who walked by would look into our room. We were located as the first room down the hallway next to the lobby.

It was such a lovely stay. The horses were a highlight of our trip. Upon having to leave a bit early the staff made us breakfast bags for the next day. That was so wonderful and ended up being our biggest meal of the next day due to travel issues. Highly recommend and wish we could of stayed longer.

Great hotel, the front desk evening liaison was very helpful and sweet. Gave us a lot of ideas for our trip. She even got us a packed breakfast ready for the next day since we were leaving before the normal breakfast! The food in the hotel was delicious!

Great stay with Eldhestar! Lovely hotel with super friendly and helpful staff. The restaurant serves delicious authentic food and the surroundings are beautiful. The hotel and facilities are well kept. Location is remote enough to be quiet and peaceful, especially in the evenings, but still close to a village where you can go shopping, find alternative restaurants and sightsee.
