Broom Lodge

This is a very old property that is showing its age. We booked the room with 2 beds and its own bathroom, but the attic like room was small and the angled ceiling you hit your head on. It was up 2 narrow winding staircases which is challenging for anyone with luggage(large suitcase, carry on and backpack ea.) Our bathroom was tiny, a shower you couldn’t turn around in. Bathroom door was literally falling off the hinges and wouldn’t close. The room had these strange little closets that when opened revealed an unfinished, dirty floor with water stains on the roof and mold growing. We thought we would just try to manage. Wifi was too weak to do anything. Our Son went to have a shower in the morning and the shower would not drain and would have overflowed if we hadn’t noticed. We explained this and was told we could use the shared bathroom downstairs, not what we paid for! My son finished his shower(3mins) he said that it never got warm. My wife tried and said it had zero hot water. We waited 45mins,I tried thinking we were doing something wrong, but no hot water from any tap. When we explained that we would not continue our stay the staff said since it was booked thru a third party there was nothing they could do. The third party Hotels.com said it was up to the property. Hotels said they would try to help us as we would not continue our stay there and are highly disappointed. No word back from either as of yet! Hoping for some help… DONT STAY HERE.

Had a fantastic stay at the B&B 👍..room was clean and comfortable,,lady was very friendly ,will return again.
