The only reason I booked this hotel was for the airport shuttle. It is listed as available via the filter on the Hotels.com app. When checking in they stated they do not have a shuttle. So, I paid $60+ dollars in Uber fees.

The hotel is very nice and comfortable. My only gripe would be that the shuttle for the airport will come at 0445 at the earliest. I stayed here FOR the shuttle service. My flight left at 0530 so that wasn’t enough time…. I wish they would use a shuttle service that started earlier. I ended up paying $47 to a cab :(

The room was nice, I really liked the the kitchenette with the full fridge. The breakfast was not good all cold foods, nothing special. Nothing was restocked, so get there early. The guest laundry was not working. I had to take the days off dirty laundry to the next hotel we stayed at. For the cost, we will not stay here again.

The place was clean, beds were a 7 out if 10 for comfort, the bathroom had plenty of towels. This place is very average quality. Wall damage from water in the bathroom, elevator was very very slow and would shake real bad. Breakfast was less than average. No eggs or meat. Coffee was good.

The first room we were provided had black mold in the shower and was filthy otherwise. The front desk clerk at the time provided us with a "room refresher" advising that it was also a cleaner and that we should clean the room ourselves as he didnt have a replacement or housekeeping available. Management was able to rectify rhe room issue the next day, but not once was I provided the room I asked for. I put special requests on my reservation for a disabilty room with handicap showers and other aids, but none of the 3 rooms I was put into were handicap rooms. I even made the special request via a phone call to the location after booking the room to verify they knew that I needed a handicap room. They advised my request would be fullfilled. Needless to say, I wont be staying at this location again.

We had 2 rooms, both rooms had funky smells. One rooms bathroom had black mold in the sinks and in the tub surrounding as well peeling wall covering. We also arrived earlier than expected and asked to have an early check in and we were told by the staff at the front desk the rooms were not ready. So we ended up finding something local to do until about a hour before the check in time (3pm) and was told that only one room was ready and the other room was having the ice maker in the fridge repaired. Finally we got to check in and settled in our rooms. Finding out that either of the rooms ice makers do not work and once we asked the staff member about this and the mold we where told there are no other rooms available so to no vacancy. For the price I paid for these rooms I would expect more than what was offered. I will never in my future ever book this hotel or any other hotel related to this. This was by far the worst hotel we ever stayed at

Felt very uneasy seeing a Tattooed man with Bear cans sleepin in the stairs one doorway away from where my family of 7 stayed. Between two families I traveled with we all Checked into a dirty rooms. Boogers on the wall. Trash and stains inside pull out couch. Kitchen utensils unusable. Broken kurig in room. Room key stopped workin daily. Housecleaning unavailable every day. Had to go down to front desk to borrow their vacuum to do my own cleaning since I have toddlers. The only thing I enjoyed was the two bright smiles from the two front desk ladies. I have stayed with mainstay in the past, considered it a safe and affordable Choice. I will never again choose them for my family travels.

Blood on entry and elevator floors that took days to clean up, extremely noisy occupants late into the night with no help from staff to quite down (several people complained) food on the walls in kitchen and by dining table, severely leaking ceiling (had to move rooms/floors) no compensation for the inconvenience this used to be a really nice hotel I’ve stayed in the past it’s sad to see it’s in need of upkeep

Clean room. I liked that it had a kitchen even though I didn't use it. The bed was comfortable. Quiet, I never heard any noise in the hallways or next door. I really liked my stay at this hotel. I would have rated "excellent" if it wasn't for the continental breakfast. There was no fruit and no apple or orange juice. One day there was no coffee, but I went to the receptionist, and she came and made some. Beside this, I had a great stay!

We love the set up of the rooms with the kitchen and living room area, without having to pay suite prices. The staff is always nice and friendly too. Cons - hard for more than one person to get ready at the same time because the bathroom vanity is in the shower/toilet space rather than outside it. There is a mirror outside it though so I am able to put make up on while my husband showers. They also could have a better selection for breakfast. But that is also why we like the kitchen in the room. It helps save on food costs when traveling, and we can fix our coffee the way we like it! Note coffee maker only takes single pods if bringing extras from home.

Parking and location worked great, nice outdoor patio area. Rooms need upgrading, couch very uncomfortable, all furniture pretty rough looking in room and other common areas, TV could be bigger for suite and lamps etc..no USB charging options, (we do alot of traveling this is pretty standard). Staff were very nice.

The place was well maintained, clean and the rooms were very large. The place is just outside of town, so there is no where you can walk to. BUT everything was a short drive away. Very close to Mount Rushmore and the Bad lands. Because we had a suit with a full size refig, dishwasher, sink and a stove they never made up our room. I guess that was expected? The breakfast was basic with hard boiled eggs, bread, bagels, fruit, juice, coffee, tea. I would recommeng.

The hallways smelled liked marajuana multiple times. One morning was so overwhelming it made us sick before being able to get outside. The doors are extremely noisy. We were woken early every morning due to slamming doors.

Staff was friendly and helpful and accommodating. Slightly dated but very clean and had all the modern conveniences. Breakfast was very light, cereals hard boiled eggs, bagels and toast. Cup style oatmeal’s. Over all good place . I would stay here again .

Waited at the front desk for almost 10 minutes for the staff to come only to find out he was in the office the whole time and only came out when the phone rang. Looked like he had been sleeping. The phone call he answered the lady asked for a manager which wasn’t there so she asked to take her number. He never wrote it down and just pretended. Worst customer service I have gotten at a hotel.

When you are awakened at 3:00am to fire alarms going off it doesn’t make for a pleasant experience. Front desk staff was completely silent during the entire incident and we were finally told by firefighters that it was safe to go back in to our rooms….That was after an hour!

Unfortunately this hotel is an example of extreme cost cutting. Housekeeping was only on Thursdays and Mondays (not advertised). One of the cleaning staff let me know that it is a Choice Hotel standard to only supply rooms with 2 towels. With the limited standards and the minimal cleaning guests are constantly making lists and running down to the main desk to get support from what appears to be the only person working. The service was varied. One person, who was on a couple of days is likely a nice person but should not be serving the public. He used minimal words to communicate, if at all, and seemed very unhappy to be there. When a corporation cuts cost the staff suffer as they have to keep so many plates spinning. As such the guests suffer as they are served by these people. Its hard to travel with a family and keep your room clean without a broom or vacuum.

Staff was very unprofessional and not accomodating to any needs. Our ice machine was not working in the room and we asked Emily for ice and she lied and said they did not have any. Our other family that we were with had gotten ice since theirs was not working either from the check in lady that was working before Emily. We were in town for basketball and emily wouldn't change the lobby tv that no one was watching to PBS so we could watch the game. Emily was more concerned with her dog that she brought to work than the guests that were there. She took many breaks and went outside with her dog often. Our other family that we were with had gotten ice since theirs was not working either from the check in lady that was working before Emily. We were in town for basketball and emily wouldn't change the lobby tv that no one was watching to PBS so we could watch the game. Emily was more concerned with her dog that she brought to work than the guests that were there. She took many breaks and went outside with her dog often. Very dirty staff was rude and lied to you Manager was no help. Contacted corporate as well which they only offered a limited amount of help. They said solve it with the on-site manager who was useless to deal with.

The place was well maintained, clean and the rooms were very large. The place is just outside of town, so there is no where you can walk to. BUT everything was a short drive away. Very close to Mount Rushmore and the Bad lands. Because we had a suit with a full size refig, dishwasher, sink and a stove they never made up our room. I guess that was expected? The breakfast was basic with hard boiled eggs, bread, bagels, fruit, juice, coffee, tea. I would recommeng.

The Coffee is terrible. Seriously, it may be the worst coffee I have ever had. Coffee this bad is a choice. The breakfast options overall are much more limited than is typical of a hotel in this price range. The location is also very difficult to get to - you have to drive through the parking lot of a different hotel, and it is not clearly marked. We drove around the hotel 3 times before figuring out how to actually get in. We would not stay here again.

The hotel was a simple halt on a longer trip, though. It is located right beside the Interstate and not far from a good access to shopping and restaurant. Hotel was fine, clean, simple, very basic breakfast, plenty of space and nice. I won't forget the place if I need to stop by again.

I checked in on Thursday. I was told I could not have housekeeping till Monday, even though I was checking out Tuesday. While the front desk was very friendly, I had to empty the trash, get fresh towels, coffee, trash bags, ect.. for my entire stay. I saw no point in housekeeping coning to change sheets for ONE day only to have to change them the following day for the next guest, instead of offering me some type of housekeeping over the duration of my stay. The bathroom fan continually ran. The exterior doors required a key card for entry for safety, but they were unlocked and did not require a key card. It was unsafe. Breakfast was stale bagels, instant oatmeal, or dry cearel. One of the six days there was yogurt. Most days there wasn't even coffee. There was no fresh fruit or any other quality choices. There are many other hotels in the area at the same price point that offer a quiet room, housekeeping, safety, and a true hot breakfast.

We chose Mainstay because they had shuttle from the airport and they included a breakfast all of those which we need while traveling without our car. In the morning we went for breakfast and they told us they weren’t doing breakfast. They had no options and there were no restaurants close by. They told us to go to the Hotel next-door they serve breakfast. We went there expecting to pay for a restaurant, they did not serve breakfast and their restaurant wasn’t open till 11. Very disappointing.
