We booked based on reviews, and found the reviews were solid, and we had a great experience. As an Inn, it was as good as many resorts we have stayed. Indoor & Outdoor pool along with a hot tub. One of the really nice features as a small table and chairs right outside the room to enjoy the cool evenings.

Older property that has been beautifully maintained. Very clean! Some nice touches like warm cookies and milk in the lobby in the afternoon. Did not use but 2 pools one inside and one outside. Walking path. Pickle ball courts. Free washer and dryer with detergent and softener. Will return.

Best hotel experience in years. Feels like a cross between visiting family and a boutique hotel. Free laundry, excellent amenities for families with children of all ages. Lots of extras like cookies and milk, hammocks, outdoor and indoor games, great pools, tennis and basketball courts and jungle gym. Don’t miss the cafe for breakfast next door for ambiance and simplicity.

This hidden gem just 1 mile up the hill from downtown Custer is absolutely gorgeous! It feels like you stepped into the mountains of Germany or Switzerland. There are flowers everywhere. There’s an indoor and outdoor pool as well as a hot tub. The front desk staff greeted us and was there to answer all of our questions and offer dining suggestions. There is milk and cookie time at 3:30. Laundry facilities are free and detergent is provided. The room was large and the bed super comfortable! We were so impressed that we decided to say a second night. It is very central to anything you want to do in the Black Hills, only 20 to 30 miles from most of the major attractions. Additionally, the room price was reasonable, around $128 on Expedia. Would highly recommend!

This place is awesome! We picked this hotel based on location and reviews. All the reviews were positive and raving. We see why, it was great. The entire grounds were immaculately clean and very well maintained. Both pools and the hot tub were open and spotless. They have a cookie social hour every day with fresh baked cookies and milk! They even had towels available for motorcycle riders to clean and dry their bikes. This is hands down a great hotel pick. We will be back!!!

Clean except the A/C unit had lots of mold- not good for asthma, the window screen was torn in two places so could not use because of flying bugs. TV reception was lost one evening - staff repaired immediately. Staff friendly, service oriented great staff!! Overall good place unless mold is a concern in A/C - the only reason not a 5 star. The onsite restaurant was very good for a light breakfast. We had yogurt bowl with very fresh berries twice - excellent!

The hotel is cute, has cute updated decor, but some of the bones (i.e.carpet, fixtures) are old. The lady who checked us in was friendly and quickly got us another room when we had a problem. I always check beds and bathrooms when checking in any hotel/airbnb for cleanliness. When I pulled back the comforter to check the sheets, I found lots of hair all over the fitted sheet and the sheet was wrinkled. Obviously hadn’t been changed. I immediately let the receptionist know and she was quick to message the owner while we waited. This was about 9:40pm. The owner responded with wanting to know how long ago we had checked in, which made me immediately anxious about how they would handle this. However, we did get another room assigned and other than the hassle of getting our stuff moved when we were tired after driving 9 hours. The new room was clean. The bed was a cheaper foam and not the worst, but definitely could be better. All in all it was, after getting things taken care of, ok but probably wouldn’t stay there again.

My wife picked the Inn and I was not impressed. The one positive aspect about the in is it’s dog friendly policy. The room was a tad bit musty for me and bathroom was outdated. The drive to town was short.

Stayed as a couple for 3 nights to tour the Badlands area. Everything about this inn was convenient and restful, from the location to the room itself. It was quaint & charming in the best way—with modern conveniences. We chose a second floor room and it was very quiet; stairs only, which didn’t bothers us, but choose first floor if mobility issues. Only wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Nice hotel conveniently located close to town. Lots of things for the little ones to do which is nice. Beds could be replaced and there is a bit too much noise if people are above you. I would stay again if I’m in the area.

The property was very nice. There was an indoor pool with a jacuzzi and an outdoor pool also. The room was very nice and the bed was very comfortable. The only issue is the internet. It’s quite terrible! So use your hotspot or have spotty internet connection.

The staff at check were wonderful. We booked an upgraded room, however, at the time of check in, the room was not available. I was not reimbursed for the difference. The property was clean, and close to activities. Again, the staff is wonderful!

Loved staying here in June. The staff was friendly and made sure I knew everything the place had to offer. Check in and out were a breeze. Especially loved the possibility of free laundry and the other perfect amenities available. The place was perfect for an morning or evening stroll. It was situated perfectly to many great areas including Custer State Park, Sylvan Lake, Mount Rushmore, and Wind Cave National Park. Even Badlands National Park wasn't a bad drive away. While it definitely is an older establishment, I feel like they've done well in keeping it fresh and clean. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Custer.

Cute, super clean, and great customer service. My only negative was the distance from restaurants, bars, and shops. The only way was via a busy road with no walkway - you needed to drive to get to a business. With that said, I would definately stay here again.

Such a cute Swiss themed hotel. The room was very clean and had all the necessities. Front desk staff very helpful and friendly. Nice indoor pool and beautiful outdoor pool. Oh and a pickle ball court!! The cafe next door was convenient. Great pastries, croissants and muffins. Will re-book next year for the Volksmarch!

Great find! We were at Crazy Horse and found this randomly. The room was nice and the bathroom were clean. They have free laundry machines to use with everything. The staffing took care of us as soon we came in and gave us the best deal they had. The coffee shop next door is awesome as well for breakfast

If I could give this place 10 stars I would! This place is a hidden gem! The staff was so friendly, the rooms were great, there is free laundry that included soap to use, it is close to the National Parks, and there is also cookie time from 3:30pm-4:30pm! Breakfast is not included, but the cafe is right next door to the inn that has some delicious coffee/food!! If I am ever back in the area, I will be staying here again! Thank you so much!

The staff was very friendly. The room very clean although the location is right on the highway so during the day you hear all the traffic passing by, but it was very quiet at night once you closed the doors. The breakfast restaurant is absolutely excellent good food, staff very friendly. Outside patio dining very nice, inside dining very eclectic.

Cute, convenient, clean, wonderful and well-kept property! We were on a road trip to visit South Dakota for the first time and stayed here for one night, but easily could have stayed longer. The staff were super friendly, kind, and accommodating - especially traveling with a pup. You can pull your car up right to your room, which makes loading and unloading easy. The amenities are great - laundry, pool, pickleball and basketball, breakfast on site, cookies, etc. And lots of grass for potty breaks if you have a pup. It's also close to town and (20-30 minute scenic drives) to hiking and all the different attractions, which is nice. The only microscopic downsides were: the facility does not have a restaurant on premises that serves dinner (you have to go downtown). However, the rooms have a fridge and microwave - so, bring your own snacks and you'll be set. Also, if you're 6' tall, the ceilings are a little low and the sink sits below your waist to where you have to bend down a bit. But that's about it. It's such a lovely property, we would stay here again in the future!
